"Hotel Oxford, Londres"
Points positifs : -Situation (quartier calme, métro proche,...)
"Clean and correct for its class"
I've stayed here overnight for business a couple of times. For this type of hotel, Oxford Hotel is perfectly acceptable - it's a basic, two-star hotel. It's clean and given the price, you can't complain much.
ouais, bof. Pratique (surtout à quatre dans la chambre), près du métro, propre, mais pdj craignos et no shampoing in the room
"Brilliant location, comfortable and friendly hotel"
The position of the Oxford Hotel is brilliant! It's very close to Lancaster Gate Tube station and only a few blocks to Paddington Tube which is also where the Heathrow trains terminate. The room was warm and comfortable although he decor is a little dated (but who cares when you're just there to sleep). Breakfast is basic (cereal, croissants & toast) […] but having it included is both time and money saving. There is no lift in the hotel, so you need to be able to climb stairs with or without bags, but I'm sure the friendly staff would help if you needed with your bags. Overall, I'd not only stay here again, but would recommend it to others as a good budget hotel. Lisez la suite

"Oxford Hotel."
It's only a very small hotel but very convenient to get in to the centre of London and very close to the main bus routes and underground. My only complaint is the en-suite we had was tiny. Anyone over 5' 4" (like me) would have great difficulty maneouvering about in the shower room. The service was excellent but if you need a cab when you leave take […] a black cab as the private ones like I had will rip you off like I was. Lisez la suite
"Good value for central London location"
The Oxford hotel offers a neat and tidy room at good rates considering the location is pretty convenient. 3 minute walk to the underground metro station. Walking distance to Oxford street. Very close to Hyde park. Wi fi only works in the reception. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful though.
"Good location"
I found its very convenient -just 5-7 min walk to Paddington station , very close to Bayswater bus stops etc . Breakfast can be better. Price per night must be cheaper.
"my stay"
Nice staff and they were very helpful. Very small bathroom but it works. Lose to the tube
"Convenient for location"
Hotel was clean, guy at reception was helpful but like everybody has said in review breakfast definitely needs to be looked at seriously. If continental breakfast provide a proper continental breakfast. bread, cheeses, sliced meats etc. Otherwise cant fault the stay.
Hotel close to Paddington Station (direct train to Heathrow Airport) and just two blocks from Hyde Park. If you are too tired to walk miles for dinner, no worries, there is an excellent Lebanese restaurant just next door and plenty of other restaurants and pubs just 5 min walk away. Stay away from the breakfast!
"good location nice little hotel."
oxford hotel is good value for the money considering its location to close tube sta. right near mid. of london. room was small and bath small but clean and nice. there are no lifts so be ready to carry you`re bags up stairs. staff helpful and helped with bags. breakfast bout minimal as they get. cerial and a muffin. but in london for the price pretty […] good deal. The hotel is near the Paddington train station. And the room is big enough. But the wifi can only be accessed in the reception. And the facilities are a litte old.
"nice staff"
nice comfort family hotel, staffs are helpful .
"Not a bad choice"
we booked it as a last minute hotel/hostel. The price is fair for a last minute booking. The bath room is the smallest I have ever seen and I am very fit I have to say. If you haven't tired a 1 square meter(or less) tolilet+bathroom, you should have a go. Breakfast? well, I will not call it a breakfast cosidering they supply cold bread and hot water […] and of course instant coffee and long life milk. Lisez la suite
"Keep It Simple..."
With a good location and nice staff, it's a good place to stay. Minor drawbacks like the (amazingly tiny) size of the bathroom don't matter.
"Oxford?"
I had one night at the "Oxford hotel". The location was fine nearby Lancaster Gate. The rest was disappointing . It took me most of the night to find out how to turn the heating on. I´m used to sleep in cold rooms but this was freezing. When I came down to the breakfast I thought i was too late, it was almost nothing there. I was wrong again . The breakfast […] was bread, one kind of cheese and instant coffee. But they were out of cups and butter. London can be a nice place, stay another place . Lisez la suite
"Oxford Hotel, London - close and cheap"
Oxford Hotel in Bayswater, London is a very basic hotel, but located nicely in central London and is moderately priced. I had booked a room with a double bed (and indicated that I would be the only person staying in the room), but I got a room with one double bed and two single bed. Atleast I had enough towels. The room was on the first floor facing […] the "yard", thus removing any sounds from outside (apart from the occasional emergency and law enforcement vehicles blaring past near by). The room was old and slightly worn down but clean. The toilet was small, just the toilet seat, sink and the shower. The toilet had slight scent of bleach what again proves that somebody does clean there. The room had a kettle, a microwave oven, a bunch of mugs, plates, cuttlery and instant coffee and tea. TV is there and it works, but don't expect LCD with surround sound. Breakfast was included in the price and it consisted of white bread or croisants, cornflakes, orange juice, tea and coffee. Very simple and plain. English breakfast can be bought for an additional fee, but I didn't have it and did not witness anybody having it. The staff was polite and spoke good English. All in all the Oxford Hotel in Bayswater (don't mix it up with the newer Oxford Hotel, Earls Court; that one is completely in a different place, slightly more expensive, and more nicer) is a basic budget hotel that gives you a possibility to stay in central London still enjoying the basics of hotel accommodation. the hotel is ok. but the breakfast can i not recomend. And the bathroom was not so nice.
"Oxford Hotel - great location and helpful staff"
Can easily recommend Oxford Hotel. Great price, great location and super friendly staff!
"Oxford Hotel - London"
We stayed in the family room and found the hotel to be very charming. Rooms were clean, front desk attendants very helpful, and the continental breakfast was enough to get us started for a day of sight seeing. The hotel was convienently located to Paddington and Lancaster Gate subway stations along with several shops and pubs.
"Oxford hotel near Hyde park"
This place is a very typical small European hotel, very average but close to the tube stop. I only stayed here one night because I was on my way up north, it served its purpose to provide me a decent shower and bed. Would not stay in this place if I needed to be there for more than a night.
"Oxford Hotel in Lancaster Gate, London"
The location was close to the underground which made it convenient. The receptionist was helpful, and rooms are inexpensive. However, something that made my stay very uncomfortable was that the blankets had very bad stains. The pillow even had BLOOD stains, it was disgusting! I left them on the floor and the next day they re-used them again! They also […] didn't have an elevator and we had to carry our luggage up and down from the 3rd floor. Lisez la suite
"The Hotel Oxford in London, close to town"
We had a one night stay at the Oxford after a show, The hotel had everythng we needed for our nights stay, Breakfast was very basic, yet was perfectaly adequate, I found the hotel clean, and very well situated for shopping and the sights.
"Oxford Hotel London"
This is a budget hotel in an excellent location; a short walk to Paddington, Lancaster Gate, or Queensway Underground stations and bus stops on Bayswater Road. It is near Hyde and Kensington Parks and within walking distance to Kensington Palace, the Natural History, Science, and Victoria and Albert Museums, and Harrods. The neighborhood is pleasant […] with several good restaurants nearby. Our room was clean, and the beds comfortable. A microwave, refrigerator, and an electric water heating applicance were in our room along with plates, cups, utensils, and instant coffee or tea. An adequate breakfast consisting of tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, cereal, rolls or toast, with butter, cheese, and jam or jelly is included. The staff was pleasant and helpful. While we were there the clientele consisted of young European families and middle aged couples. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel; but remember, it is an European budget hotel so be prepared to climb some stairs. Incidently, we had no problem with our reservation--they were expecting us, and the room was paid in full. Lisez la suite

"Oxford Hotel, London: not for business travelers"
I am very comfortable with 'no-frills' hotels. The Oxford fits that description - and more. It falls short in amenities that many weary business travelers will consider basic needs. WiFi is in reception only (some of the ground floor rooms may be able to pick it up, but don't count on it). There are no toiletries (shampoo, mending kit, etc) beyond a […] bar of soap. Television is limited to four channels. My room had no desk or similar work space. In echo to some of the other reviews, the mattress needed to be retired some years back. For the parsimonious holiday traveller, the Oxford might be quite acceptable. The desk staff were pleasant and helpful, and the location is convenient. Lisez la suite
"Noisy neighbors, reluctant staff"
The flat next door was full of very boisterous young guys drinking, screaming, and banging things. They kept us up late on our first night in a new time zone. When we alerted the staff, they didn't seem at all surprised by the noise (in other words, it happens often) and were reluctant to do anything about it. They did apologize sincerely to us the […] following day, though. Overall, the hotel is charming and clean. It's located in a nice, safe area but can be difficult to find since several nearby streets have very similar names. The wireless access is spotty and doesn't work in the basement rooms at all, so if you're getting a cheap rate, don't count on wireless access. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay...on the right (quiet) night. Lisez la suite
"horrible experience ever"
the hotel front desk wanted more money aside from the booking i made with hotels.com ... i was taken advantage since i was a tourist from america
"Great Location, friendly staff"
Located just 5 minute walk from Paddington Station, The Oxford is very conveniently located with many inexpensive restaurants located just steps away. The hotel is small, with no lift (we were on the 4th floor) and the bathrooms (ours at least) was the smallest I have ever experienced. Not much bigger than an airline lavatory. But for the price paid, […] very pleased. No air conditioner, but fan is provided. Staff is very friendly. Great for one or two nights, may find the small bathroom, no a/c frustrating for a longer stay. Lisez la suite
"Oxford Hotel London"
Centrally located close to anything you like to see and explore. Very close to Hyde Park so why not start off the day with a nice walk in the park as the sun goes up. Stayed in one of the family rooms which was very clean and where equipped with what you need for a couple of days stay over. Comming from Sweden we are possible used having a little bigger […] breakfast then what was offer here. The best thing with Oxford Hotel was in the end the very friendly and assisting staff. Very nice cozy hotel in the center of London!!! The hotel staff is great and very helpful! Would recommend to anyone!
"Good hotel for your money"
The Oxford Hotel is well located, walking distance to the tube, wich is very convenient, neighborhood is nice and quiet. Although the rooms are very simple, they have all you need. After all, you don't want to spend all day at your hotel room when you have London outside! Beds were very confortable, my guess is that they have changed the mattresses […] after some bad reviews about them. Breakfast was very good! Lisez la suite
"the oxford near oxford street"
when we arrived we were met by very friendly staff the hotel could mabey be spuced up a bit but it was very clean and our room was a good size i would definetly go back
My husband and I, and our two small children stayed in a quad room. It was really small, but all we needed was a place to sleep for a night so it suited us fine. The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable, I was glad we only were staying one night, but everything else was lovely. There was no lift so getting up and down the narrow stairs with the […] children and our things was a challenge, but knowing this going in, it wasn't terrible. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We left too early for breakfast so I cannot comment on that. The hotels.com website says there is parking, but this is a mistake. The closet parking is a 15 min walk from the hotel. Lisez la suite
"Oxford Hotel -- a decent alternative"
My wife and I were in London and unexpectedly needed to find a new place to stay on very short notice. Found the Oxford Hotel at a decent price on Hotels.com and booked the room for the following day. The day before checkin we left one suitcase with the front desk staff, who were unfailingly helpful and polite. We arrived to find this quite heavy […] suitcase had been hauled up two stories to our room, a very nice touch. As is customary in Britain and Europe, the room itself was relatively small. The bathroom size was minimal, but it served our needs better than the private flat where we had been staying. Wi-fi was, as described, available only in the lobby, and there was no charge for it. As a slight inconvenience, we had to have a new password for each device and for each time we connected. But the front desk always gave us the password quickly. We would have preferred a lift, as the stairs are narrow and steep. We did not spend much time in our room, preferring to explore London as much as possible. The hotel is a short walk from the Lancaster Gate tube station. Right next to the station is a modern restaurant, Island I think is the name, where we had breakfast twice. It is a very nice place and provided superb food and service. Lisez la suite
"Excelent basic comfort in a great location"
We had a three day saty in London at the Oxford Hotel, on the way back home in a family vacation after trip, after 20 days in continental Europe. We took a triple room at the secondo floor. It´s got all basic comforts: clean rooms, good beds, mini fridge and hairdryer. Bathroom is tiny, but with a good shower. Breakfast is simple, as expected, but all […] fresh and within the hotels proposal. Excelent location, at a short walking distance from Lancaster Gate (abt 4 min) and Paddington tube stations (abt 10 min). Good choice for the ones that look for a budget yet comfortable stay in London. Good value for your money, indeed. Will stay there if back in London... Lisez la suite
"Great family room"
We were visiting London for s few days with two teenagers and booked a family room. It was great. The room had 4 single beds with plenty of space to move around. The en-suite bathroom had a shower but no tub which was fine for us. Given the low cost, we did not expect the room to be cleaned each day, but were happily surprised to come back the first […] day to made beds and fresh towels. The location is ideal. A pleasant walk across Hyde Park gets you to the V&A, Science and Natural History Museum. The subway within a couple of hundred yards is on the line to shopping on Oxford Street and theatre at Leicester Sq. The Mitre within a few feet of the hotel has great pub grub. On our last day, we walked a half mile to Paddington Station and caught the Heathrow express which leaves every 15 mins and gets you there in another 15 mins. Perfect! Minor (and I mean minor) improvements that could be made: - thicker/softer mattresses or foam toppers on the beds - a toaster in the breakfast room. I would highly recommend this hotel to any family visiting London that is looking for an inexpensive place to stay. If you don't expect the Ritz, a doorman or an elevator to your floor, you will not be disappointed. Lisez la suite

"Oxford Hotel - Great Value for the Price"
I will definitely be returning to this small, but excellent hotel. It is in a great neighbourhood, right by Hyde Park, and close to two tube stations on different lines. The men at the front desk were very helpful, and the internet was free. Don't expect lavish rooms/bathrooms, an elevator, or a breakfast feast; but keeping in mind the price of the […] hotel, it's a steal! Lisez la suite
