Rocky Waters Inn & Suites - Gatlinburg

stains on the carpet. black mold on ceiling in the bath. king size bed sunk so bad in the middle I had to put a pillow against my back just to try and level out. could not even turn on my side uphill. will not be back......

I was pleased for the most part on our stay! I really enjoyed the private balcony the only thing was there were spiders covering it, so I never sat in any of the chairs. . It didn't really seem like the webs had been cleaned off at all. . EVER! Our room was very clean though definately needs renovations. . Smelled very old too.

Booked this hotel becasue of pictures online and being riverside. The hotel is very outdated, spider webs on balcony. There was not soap or shampoo in room. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Left a night early to stay elswehere. I would not stay here again.

Pretty decent place. Complaint: my wi-fi signal was weak in my room. I would get it back stronger if I hung out on the balcony.

I think that the staff was rude and its not as convienent as they said it would be. The best part of this hotel was the balcony. Maid service just didnt bother to clean my room and when i complained they acted like it was my fault.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room overlooked a stream, and we fell asleep to the sound of rushing water each night. The beds were comfortable. The staff was great. The only negative was that the plumbing needed to be updated. However, for us, that added to the charm. it was like staying in a rustic cabin.

with the cascading water outside your window, sleep is great and will sleep there again soon.

For the price the hotel is ok. Definitely needs to be updated!!!

Service was top notch. Check in and out was effortless and very polite. Desk attendants were super friendly and handled all our needs without question. Room was nice, balcony over the rushing waters is the perfect place to let your worrys vanish. And if your feet get cold, just step in to the bathroom with the heated floors! well all the reviews talk about the hotel needs updated, which is true. Loved the location right on the water and across from hill-billy golf. Firewood is free and the bed was very comfortable. Hot water takes a while unless you turn all the hot water faucets on together then it doesnt take long. We enjoy walking so the two mile walk to the peddler […] and smokey mnt brewery wasnt bad. We had the King/fireplace jacuzzi room. Private Balcony over looking river was nice. Plenty of firewood. Front desk staff very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels. Only issue was toilet ran occasionally. Would definitely stay here again!

Room was good...Took a while for water to get hot. Loved being right on the river.

They beds at this hotel are horrible. So uncomfortable that we promptly checked out and went somewhere else.

The hotel is older, but the service was welcoming and easy to work with. The room wasn't huge, but it was clean and suited our needs. We had a fireplace room with a jacuzzi. My wife commented it was like a "campout". We had stayed here 10-15 years ago and read the comments before arriving- so we had the proper expectations. Really disappointed.. I expected dated since a lot of the hotels in Gatlinburg are but this is awful. The only plus is that it is right next to the river but you are also right next to road.. traffic was awful. Towels holder came off wall, carpet was old and nasty. Furniture was from the 70's. Hotel location is phenomenal. Room overlooks a stream/river. Room size is very nice; we had two rooms, one double and one king. Bathrooms are not updated and a bit small but for the location and the price it was not a big issue for us. Rooms have mini fridge and microwave. This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel.

This motel is clean and convenient, however, it needs some upgrades. Screen on balcony door was torn, the dead bolt didn't work and the parking spaces were extremely tight. The staff didn't offer any help with some of the basic sightseeing offers and preferred not to be bothered. Also, there is no one in the office overnight and early morning. My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 nights. When I walked in, I was taken back over 40 years, to when I stayed at this motel with my parents. Little had changed. The staff is very helpful, and the location is perfection, with a room right next to the creek, but the motel is badly in need of updating.

The King Jacuzzi Suite with fireplace was plenty big and we really enjoyed the balcony overlooking the river. Just a little walk to the main points of interest in downtown Gatlinburg. We enjoyed a fire and the large jacuzzi. Next time we will stay a little bit closer to activities.

we stayed here 18 yrs ago on our weding night and we just stayed one night but it was great just to get away from work and kids.It was a nice hotel.we had a fireplace and balcony over the water.

the road noise was really bad..The hotel needs lots of repairs......

The creek was nice. Everything else was lacking. It's actually called "Rocky Waters Motor Lodge." it was probably an decent place when it was built. But not so much now. There was even a missing light fixture...just a bulb. We will stay somewhere else in the future.

Enjoyed it all, except had a problem with door lock, it's not new up to date hotel but hard to beat for the price, excellent location. Worst thing had to walk to 2nd hotel next door to get breakfast. Will go back in future, Gatlinburg itself is definitely Gods country, beautiful.

The room was very clean and the balcony was over the mountain stream.The next time I will have my fishing pole !!!

The Rocky River Inn was so comfortable I didn't want to leave. The river side location, nestled into the trees, made relaxing on the balcony a natural paradise. In the evenings I made a hot cup of tea and soaked in the tub, which was clean and comfortable. And after a warm bath I made a fire in the lovely fireplace, slid into the luxorious king size […] bed, it felt brand new, and puffed up the six fluffy pillows, laid back Aaah, grabbed the remote and watched cable TV, with good reception. In the morning there is a nice breakfast spread that stayed open until 10 AM, so some late risers can partake of the breakfast too. And for fishermen, the rive is stocked with rainbows, so bring a fishing pole. On my next trip to Gatlinberg and Pigeon Forge I will be staying at the Rocky River Inn and Days Inn. Lisez la suite

I thought I booked with Rockywater Inn and Suites..NOT! I actually stayed at days in which was run down and not close to anything in town. I was not happy with my stay there. If you want something cheap and not clean...heres you a place.

The hotel had a fireplace in the room with firewood. The firewood was just cut and it would not burn. I could not get the wood to burn, it smoked up the room all night. The people at the front desk were nice. The hotel is on the river and the balcony overlooking the river was nice. The hotel is old and the carpets are stained. There is only parking for one car per room. They suggest others park down the street in the Days Inn parking which is also one of their locations. They have coffee but not breakfast. I purchased a stay at this hotel because of the pictures. The hotel was misrepresented. In the picture of the river with the 5 story hotel on the right side gives you the impression that that was the hotel but it is the 2 story hotel on the left in the far background. Also the photo from the balcony was false. You could not see the river in the chairs […] on the balcony you had to stand at the rails in order to see the river. I was somewhat disappointed. It was on the less busy side of the tourist area which made coming and going easier but a long walk to the action because if you drove it was too busy and it cost alot of money to park your car. The management at the front desk was incredibly rude and short with me. The hotel was okay for what we paid for and didnt have any problems to speak of. Just the rudeness which was totally uncalled for. He hardly acknowledged us and when I ask a simple question he bit my head off.

This is an old hotel that needs some serious updating!! The ceilings were so low I could almost touch them - very weird! Front desk people were nice, and the room was clean for the most part, but the property doesn't look like it's changed much since the 60's. Parking was very narrow, access to rooms was up a steep ramp, never even saw so much as coffee for the "breakfast" that was never seen. Made a couple of trips to the lobby to ask, but only saw clerk twice, at check in and check out.

My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary in the jacuzzi/fireplace room. It was very nice - the jacuzzi was larger than expected, and the bed was huge - king size. The room itself was small, especially for having a large bed, jacuzzi and fireplace all together, but that made it cozy and romantic. Although the view wasn't that great - right across the river was another hotel with balconys - Days Inn maybe? If that hotel wasn't placed there, the view would have been much better with the mountains in the background. The hotel is very close to the road so you could hear all the traffic as well but it personally didn't bother us, but it could some. The management didn't seem very friendly but everytime we called to ask for something they came right away which was nice. The room itself needs major upgrading. The wallpaper, tile and carpet seems really old and outdated. We did see a few bugs - spiders and earwigs mostly, but it wasn't out of control. The location from the downtown shopping area wasn't bad at all - we looked up the distance and it was only about a half a mile so we walked and it was fine - saved us from the traffic and expensive parking fees. It was really hard pulling in and out of the hotel - It's on one of the main streets in Gatlinburg and traffic was crowded both ways. Our stay was great. The convenience of being right down town in walking distance of all the shops. We were on the river and received the room we requested at a great rate. It needs some maintenance inside and out but would stay again and recommend to others. Thanks for making our anniversary great!!!

Hotel was dated but very clean. Room was very nice. No complaints there. But the clerk that checked us in needs to learn how to handle certain situations. Upon checking in we found an X-rated video on our night stand. The pics on the cover were horrible and very distasteful. My husband was upset that I had to see such filth but we knew that whoever […] stayed there before us had left it behind. I told my husband to let me take it down (because I was afraid that he would say the wrong thing being upset) and just let them know to remind the cleaning crew to double check for such things that might be left. When I laid the video on the counter. I said, "I found this in our room." Before I could say anything else the clerk snickered. Yes, he did! Well, that upset me because what a respectful businessman would have done was immediately appologize and at least acted as if he was upset that a customer found something like that in one of their rooms. I think he actually got a kick out of it. That's my opinion just going by his reaction. When we checked out I spoke to a different desk clerk and told him what had happened. He immediately showed that this upset him and said how very sorry he was not only that we found that, but also how the other clerk handled the situation. The clerk that checked us out was a very nice young man. The clerk that checked us in was older and well....nothing else needs to be said. This hotel was right on the strip. It had a great pool. The only issue was that we weren't told where the breakfast in the am was, but once we found it, it was great. Great room right over the river. People were fishing from their balconies. It was beautiful and we will stay there again for sure.
