Hotel Antiche Mura - Sorrente

The room is VERY clean - and we have a lot of experience with hotel rooms. It's also very quiet. It is also well equipped. And we took the "comfort" room, which is quite big compared to European hotel rooms. In addition to the curtains there is a shutter, so you can darken the room totally and sleep as late as you want. What else do you need in a room, […] right? Oh, the bed. Big and comfortable. The location of the hotel is 10 minutes walk from the Marina Picola, from where the ferries to Capri and Napoli sail. It's also 10 minutes walk from all the restaurants, souvenirs shops, old lanes and so on. The staff is very friendly - always available with suggestions, ready to answer any question or need, always with a smile - they really made us feel at home. PS. We cannot ay enougn about our experience at the Antiche Mura. We will definitely return to Sorrento and we stay at this hotel without a doubt.

Our stay in Sorrento was wonderful. The staff of the hotel was first class. I cant say enough good things about them. The hotel was grand and very Italian. The biggest negative was the pillows. They were flat as a board and hard as one. It was really awful. If a pillow is not that important to you, this is the hotel for you.

This was a great place to stay. Very clean, rooms modern/up to date. The common areas also very clean. Every staff member was pleasant and helpful, not one member with attitude and all willing to answer your questions. Very friendly and helpful, with anything you need, and for information where to eat and go. Hotel is so close to everything, including the sites and shops and buses and trains. We loved everything about this hotel. It was beautiful, nice staff, short walk from train/bus station, and also convenient walk to the ferry to the Isle of Capri. Conveneint to take subway to Pompeii, and buses to Amalfi Coast. Great neighborhood to walk around, very inviting atmosphere. Hotel provided a good breakfast, and had a beautiful garden with […] lemon trees. We went off season so could not use pool. Enjoyed the food and the Limoncello in Sorrento. And in December there were beautiful Christmas decorations and holiday booths. If traveling on the subway to Pompeii or to Naples, be prepared, it is an old system, and be particularly vigilant the closer you get to Naples. We tood the train from Rome to Naples and then subway (circumsevia) to Sorrento. If you are not a seasoned city transportation traveler and not accustomed to old subway systems, you may want to consider ferry from Naples to Sorrento instead, Lisez la suite

Highly recommend this hotel. Great helpful staff. Helped us get seats on flight out that we couldn't get on our own. Ask for Francesco to drive the Amalfi Coast or for transfers to and from airport. He made our trip. Fluffy pillows are available, just ask. Don't discount breakfast. Hearty and service filled, made every morning a treat.

A very comfortable hotel, right off the main square. Excellent wallking proximity, and the staff went out of their way to be sure we enjoyed everything about our stay in Sorrento. We've stayted in cliffside locations previously, but this hotel's location made it much more walkable around town.

Our stay was perfect. The hotel was the best we stayed in our trip to Italy. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was divine. The hotel was centrally located and only a short walk to train station.

The location is good. Is about 10 mintues walk to the Train and Bus Central Station. Near to the Square. The hotel is good. We even have our own balcony (not sure other rooms). The staffs is very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is centrally located just off the main plaza. It is within easy walking distance of the bus/train station making it ideal for those not renting cars. The staff was terrific and very helpful with quiestions and advice on the area. Breakfast was lovely every morning. We had a terrace room and the noise was nonexistant. The only thing missing […] was a view of the Sea. But it was a lot more economical than a hotel with a view would have been. We recently stayed at Hotel Antiche Mura in Sorrento for 4 nights. The location was fantastic - we used this hotel to explore the Amalfi Coast during our stay. The hotel is very convenient - a 5 min walk from the train station and buses, and a 2 min walk to the central square. Even though it is so close to the square, it is peaceful and quiet. Who could ask for more? This hotel was centrally located to anything you would like to see or do around the Amalfi Coast. It is in the center of Sorrento with restaurants and shops everywhere! It is walking distance to the train station that connects to Naples and also walking distance to the port where you take the boats to the Amalfi Coast. Mario, […] who oversees your comfort by the pool is so pleasant and accommodating. The front desk could not have been more helpful in locating and suggesting restaurants and then making our reservations. On two occasions they arranged to have us picked up at the door and returned back to the hotel following dinner. Unfortunately, during our stay my husband had an accident and needed to be taken to the hospital for a few stitches in his elbow. Luigi, at the front desk, drove us the hospital and stayed to help us communicate with the doctor there. Love this hotel. The location is perfect, being in the centre of Sorrento. We had upgraded directly with the hotel to one of the garden rooms and it was well worth the expense. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was very good with hot and cold food; a nice change from what is often on offer in Europe. Small minor issues. The AC unit […] was a bit noisy and there was a residential block overlooking the pool area that wasn't too pretty!!! Overall, would recommend this place to anyone. We were very happy with our stay at Antiche Mura. The staff were great and very helpful arranging a transfer from the airport last minute when we missed a flight and were significantly delayed. They also arranged a private driver to see the Amalfi Coast and drop us off at our next hotel in Positano. Luigi is the best driver and knows all the spots to […] pull over and take beautiful pictures. The staff also recommended some great restaurants with authentic food! Our room was very sizable and cleaned about 3 times a day. My husband is still talking about the breakfast buffet. We only hope to return in the future! Lisez la suite

My sister and i traveled here in early March for a little getaway. The staff was fabulous, location perfect, breakfast wonderful. We were able to walk everywhere in town. Rooms were spotless. Bed was not the most comfortable. Staff was very helpful, but not overbearing. Francesco was waiting for us at the Naples airport upon our arrival and Luigi drove […] us on the Amalfi drive. We traveled to Sorrento during January, officially the "off-season." That translated into excellent hotel deals with plenty of shops and sites still open and available. After staying in a "tourist class" hotel in Rome, it was a treat to arrive at the Antiche Mura. Breakfast (included in our rate), with its squeeze your own on the spot orange juice was a real tread. Too many choices of wonderful dishes to try! Front desk staff were very fluent in English and went above and beyond to help us with all of our needs, including renting a scooter for the day for an Amalfi Coast drive, translating a confirmation email we had received from a ferry company, and calling our next hotel to assis with our early arrival. Classic hotel one block from main shopping street. 3 blocks from train station. Good heat, excellant buffet breakfast with wonderful breads and muffins. Manager was extremely helpful with solving a fake luxury item purchased from a local store.

We had a wonderful stay at the Antiche Mura in Sorrento. Great location close to the main square. The staff was first rate and the room was large and comfortable. Awesome bathroom with all the conveniences. Very complete breakfast that caters to a diverse clientele. Lemons? Wine? Authentic Italian cuisine? If vacations are your passion and all your needs being anticipated is your goal, then book a stay (minimum 3 days) at Hotel Antiche Mura in Sorrento, Italy. The staff spoke fluent English and arranged for a private driver to escort us to all the must-see sights including Postitano and Ravello.My traveling companions […] and I were anxious as this was our first international trip and we quickly came to find out that we could relax and enjoy our anticipated vacation. Great hotel in a great location, right in the center of town but just 2 minutes walking distance from the exact center which kept the traffic to a minimum in front of the hotel. Terrific breakfast buffet with all the local Italian favorites as well as American. First class all the way. Loved it and would stay there again.

Location of hotel is ideal just off the main square and within easy walking of many restaurants and bars. When we arrived by foot, from the train station, i expected a standard multi floored hotel building, but this place is so much more. The location, on the side of a great cliff, and with a wonderful spacious marbled reception was just the beginning. The rear and side of the premises has a pool set within a lemon grove and our suite was tucked away at […] the back, with rustic charm, peaceful; a haven from the bustling Sorrento town within just 1 minutes walk . I booked a standard room but we somehow ended up in the suite, much to our eternal delight. Thanks for a wonderful experience - if I returned to Sorrento this would be my first choice again. I'm a very picky, well-traveled person...just so you know where these comments come from! Antiche Mura has a fantastic location - 1 block from main town square, yet removed from noise, and a 5-10 minute pleasant walk to the (Circumvesuviana) train station. There is no sea view from this hotel. Very pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating staff, from […] front desk to bartender to breakfast waitresses to housekeepers. My husband and I booked what the hotel calls a "comfort" room with balcony, which gives you an extra twin bed (more space to toss your stuff) and a delightful balcony on which to sit and enjoy your local wine and cheese (with a great view of the surrounding hillsides). The room decor is not American standards, but local standards. Translated: local tile is used on the floors (no carpet, so take your slippers if you want); the dresser is very large and styled with local inlaid wood; and the "queen" bed is actually two small twins pushed together and covered with queen linens (the bed was surprisingly comfortable, unlike others I've experienced in Europe). In-room hairdryers suck, so ask for a loaner at the front desk (I didn't figure this out until halfway through my stay). Lisez la suite

Well located hotel, we had a "comfort room" which was quite large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. This hotel is within walking distance of the train which goes to the major sites.

We loved everything about this hotel – central location, English speaking, helpful and very friendly front desk, outstanding breakfast and suburb room (we had comfort room with the balcony). We loved staying here. Walked into the room and wondered if they'd made a mistake - fruit, flowers and champagne - even though we hadn't requested or paid for them. We stayed in room 602 which is a comfort room and even though there are two better categories of room we thought it was fabulous. We had our own private terrace with sun loungers, table […] and chairs, with a bit of a view of the swimming pool (the trees were very dense) through the lemon trees surrounding it. Breakfast was excellent and everything was pretty and well kept. Only downside was the shower - the flow was a bit on the paltry side - but the rest was so wonderful it was easy to overlook. Sorrento is a wonderful and cute town, it is also an outstanding location for tourists. The hotel was an excellent for us, it was friendly and compassionate. The front desk worker, Luigi, was outstanding. He made us feel like we mattered to him, rather than being strangers who just passed through his working area. 地図から海が、見えると思って予約をしましたが、駅、港から(港からは歩けません。)近くて、歩いて、町中に出られる 素敵なホテルです。ホテルの横は、渓谷になっていて、ロケーションは、良いと思います。レモン畑の中のプールも、シーズンになれば、楽しめるとおもいます。

Staff very helpful, ready to give information about conditions to go to Capri or the Vesuvio. Very well located, near the city center and close to the boats and trais. Rooms are good and clean.
