The hotel was built in old cave type dwellings on the side of the caldera. It had outstanding views and beautiful sunsets. If you plan to stay here, make sure you are in good shape for climbing stairs. There were a lot of different levels. We were in one of the studios. The space was small with short ceilings and doorways in some areas due to it having […] actually been a cave dwelling. The room could be very charming, but it was in need of updating. The kitchen and bath fixtures could use replacing. More comfortable seating and a dresser to store clothes would be a good beginning in the bedroom area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Had a great time and the hotel was located 1 minute walk to the Acropolis musuem, and a few minutes from the Acropolis. Views were great from the roof terrace! The staff were helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. Would stay again. No climate control in room so it was a bit stuffy and hot, but this is our only complaint.

This hotel struck me as a good compromise between the generally high cost of staying in Santorini, and good quality hotel accommodation. The setting is stunning - perfect views of the caldera and the sunsets, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms themselves are spacious and clean, but the fittings are quite dated and far from "luxury" […] - but perfectly adequate. There is a good, standard breakfast buffet. There isn't much in the way of shops nearby, and most the restaurants are on the other side of the village - staying somewhere nearer to Firostephani would give you more in the way of facilities. A lovely small hotel in a great location at the highest point of the Caldera . The views over sea and islands are superb. The hotel owners and their staff are all extremely helpful and friendly . Stayed here 5 nights pre-season in March, the view is over the top. The friendly staff were the best. They helped us with travel questions, restaurants and treated us to great breakfast every morning. Even had a nice drink with them in the evening. The staff recognized that several things needed to repaired in our room at check in and said they would take of them, but never did. Also, didn't change the lightbulb lighting a dark staircase in a common area either, very unsafe.

Our room was clean and cozy. This hotel offered the rare family room that would accomodate 4 people. We were only able to find a room of similar size in one other hotel in Greece. The view of the caldera from our front patio was spectacular. One word of caution, however. Because the room came with a mini-kitchen with a refrigerator and the hotel seemed […] more like a bed and breakfast, we were not aware that the beverages that were cooling in the frig were not complimentary. We ended up drinking the small bottle of wine and the bottle of champagne (it was New Year's eve) and a few waters and only discovered at check-out that we were charged for the drinks. Also, we didn't know that we'd be charged for the shuttle that took us from the port to the hotel and back until check-out when we saw these charges on the bill. Unfortunately, I think we paid double for the ride to the hotel because we paid the driver and also paid the hotel for the ride as a part of the final bill. Hotel is in a great situation, tumbling down the cliffs at almost the highest point of the caldera. Our room had its own balcony and even from the bed we had fantastic views out over the caldera. The location in Imerovigli was perfect, directly on the walking trail to Fira and Oia. The staff was outstanding and the breakfast wonderful. Of course the view was unbelievable, though that is the case for most of the hotels. The only area of improvement is that the hotel lacked some of the more modern conveneinces, and the shower leaked, leaving the […] bathroom floor wet, and an overall musty smell in the room. I don't if this is typical for the area, as this was out first visit. The pool is also rather small, though we didn't find time to use it. I was there in early april. Not the best time as most restaurants on the island was closed. It was also very cold. However the hospitality of Heliotopos Hotel more than made up for it. Everyday i look forward to the sunset from our little balcony. We could not be happier with this hotel. We arrived two days late from our reservation date, due to delays and strikes at the airports. We were upset we would lose those days at the hotel, but when we arrived we explained our situation and they gladly moved our dates, to stay the number of days we had already paid for. Additionally, the entire staff […] was very friendly and helpful, they did special restaurant reservations, arranged for a car rental, and provided ideas, suggestions and recommendations to make the most of our stay in Santorini. Our room had a beautiful view and double balcony, it was always clean. The breakfast was delicious and included fresh made orange juice. The hotel is located at a good spot because it's in Imerovigli, which is in between the two main cities of Fira and Oia, so you could choose to go one way or another. Our final positive note is, we left behind our iPhone (charging at the hotel) and we realized it until we were already in a ferry on our way to Athens. Wunderbar gelegenes, typisch griechisches Hotel mit enorm freundlichem und kompetenten Service. Wir reisten als "Grossfamilie" mit Grosseltern und Kindern und alle waren absolut zufrieden. Die Lage in Imerovigli könnte nicht besser sein: uneingeschränkter Blick von der Caldera auf das Meer, sehr ruhig gelegen und in gut 20 - 30 Minuten Caldera Walk […] ist man schon in Firá. Das Hotel sieht wirklich aus wie auf der Website, hat sogar einen ganz kleinen Pool zur Abkühlung. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichlich und wird sehr ansprechend präsentiert.
