We enjoyed staying here between Christmas and New Years. It was quiet, comfortable and pretty clean. Except for the hot tub -- we turned on the jets and it overflowed with the wrong kind of bubbles. The kind that show it hasnt been cleaned well. otherwise it was a good place to stay with kids.

This hotel is immediately off Hwy 30 on South Duff, with lots of restaurants and retail shopping within half-mile or so of the hotel. Staff is great, hotel is very clean and comfortable.

Uncomfortable hard beds. Breakfast OK on the cold items. Eggs and meat were terrible, but fortunately they had waffles which made the kids happy.

Hotel was clean, the room was spacious and comfortable and the service was great. The continental breakfast was also good with a fair variaty. The only thing I'd complain about was the clenliness of the tiny pool and hot tub. It was over clorinated and very small.

I was told I was getting a 2 queen size bed prior to reserving a room. When we arrive we were told it's 1 queen bed and 1 pull out sofa sleeper. I was not happy after a long car ride. Also the swimming pool was very small and if you have kids who were looking forward to swim, this is not the place. However, the overall hotel condition is good. This is the second time we stayed here and we were just as happy. The food for breakfast is typical hotel food, not great but ok. The pool is just the right size and depth for kids to play. the rooms are great - love having a full sized fridge and the ability to cook, even though we didn't cook this trip. People are nice. Big suites with large kitchen, couch & living area and separate bedroom plus nice big bathroom. I would return for sure.

Very clean & spacious room but the fitness room had no A/C and was very hot and humid and was small. We were told that the A/C broke a few days earlier but wasn't repaired. We were told that we could use the fitness center down the street but what an inconvenience so didn't do that. We had purposely chosen this hotel because it had a fitness room. It was nice to stay in a hotel that had the sleeping room separate from the living area. It made it feel more like home and I was able to relax better. When I travel with my children, I will consider using this hotel because it has a stovetop and a refrigerator, so we can cook our own meals and be more healthy and budget conscious about our trip. Customer service could be improved. The staff was never at the front desk and were not very helpful when I had concerns. The rooms needed to be repainted or cleaned. There were scuff marks all over the walls and paint peeling in the bathroom due to moisture. When I checked in there was a used dental floss pick on the lamp table. When I complained I […] only received an appology and the front desk clerk saying, "I need to get a glove to pick that up." Gross. That should have never happened. The management response was, "we will make sure your room is extra clean tomorrow and the cleaning staff must have been in a hurry." From the moment we walked into GrandStay in Ames, IA, we felt valued as a guest. We were greeted right away by the staff at the front desk (who offered our kids some craft projects to work on during our stay). The hotel and room were in tip-top shape and we enjoyed the layout with a separate bedroom with a sleeper sofa in the main area. We were traveling […] with kids, so this worked out well. Our only issue was the need for extra pillows. We needed 4 more pillows, and the staff could only supply us with two. The hotel was not near capacity, so we didn't understand why we couldn't get more. Not a big issue though. We had a quiet comfortable night sleep on soft comfortable bed. Lisez la suite

I stayed at this Hotel the night before I took my PE. It was comfortable and accomodating. The breakfast was perfect mix to prepare me for my test. Recommend it for either a one night or week long. (I have done both)

It was nice to have a kitchen and the breakfast was definitely more than continental. Room needs updating. TV's very old and the beds were not comfortable at all. I like to workout and the workout room had a treadmill, bike and eliptical - that was it. I think this hotel should be priced more amount the $89-$99 max per night.

The hotel was excellent the size and quality of the room was awesome, the only complaint small but yet was the size of the pool but at the same time it was not that busy and really did not notice the size to much. Really recommend this hotel to everyone

Loved the hotel. Very clean, roomy, nice decor. Great bargain.

The room was immaculate and much larger than I expected. The staff was very helpful and the cleaning staff outstanding.

Hotel was clean and rooms were spacious with plenty of amenities.

Very nice facility, great amenities, and reasonably priced. We especially enjoyed the pool and make-your-own waffles for breakfast. Conveniently located near highway entrance, but quiet. Near many wonderful restaurants, shopping, and theater.

Price was good considering had two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. Even had 3 TVs. Clean. Not much of a view. Breakfast was just okay but can't complain.

Wonderful Stay. We were disappointed that the pool and spa were closed. will stay here again.

My two grown children and I stayed here and the two bedroom suite was perfect.

Nice room, but much smaller than anticipated. The breakfast was good. The Bath & Body Works toiletries were a nice touch.

This was my first experience with GrandStay Residential Suites and I was very satisfied! I have already recommended it to a friend.

The rooms were spacious, the rates were good, had a free continential breakfast!

We had a good experience overall. The pool was closed, however, to our disappointment. There is a good Sushi place next door, and Hickory Park is just a few blocks away.

It has been a long time since I have found a hotel with such helpful and cheerful staff. The room was clean and very confortable. I am actually wishing I had a reason to go back!

We enjoyed our stay. Hotel was a great price, and even had breakfast included! Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Basic pool area, but was fun.

if I would have gone directly through the Grandstay Hotel I would have paid $20.00 less per night for the nights that I stayed there. Beware hotels.com customers! It is worth checking directly with the hotel!
