Grand Mercure on Renmin Square - Xi'an

Hôtel vraiment très agréable. Proche de tous les sites, pas besoin de connaitre l'adresse, il suffit de dire sofitel et tous les taxis retrouvent l'hôtel mercure. Le seul défaut est de faire payer Internet. Sinon l'hôtel m'a permis de laisser mes bagages 1 jours gratuitement le temps d'aller au Mont HuaShan. Parfait !

Excellent hotel, great location, highly recommend.

This is an excellent hotel in every respect. The first small warning is that it can be difficult to get to it, as most taxi-drivers in Xian do not recognise its name or location, even when this information is written in Chinese characters. You need to get the taxi-driver to phone the hotel for an explanation. I stayed at the Grand Mercure Renminbi Square for two nights. I was very happy with all aspects of my stay. The hotel is located in a walled enclosure containing two other hotels all which can share facilities, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and provide a restful haven from the bustling city. The hotel was in a great locale located near the center of the city. Many sights were within walking distance. WE found a great Starbucks and KFC within 2 blocks of the hotel. The hotel was quiet and off the street in a quiet square. Taxis were inexpensive and quickly gotten by the hotel. The Mercure was connected to the Sofitel so we could use their […] pool and dining rooms although they were expensive and we did not think the food was that great. This is a very comfortable hotel with all the facilities you'd expect (and some more). Very friendly and helpful staff. Most restaurants and other public facilities are in the Sofitel, a separate hotel building on the same site (two minutes, pleasant walk). The site is within walking distance of the city centre (and about 20 mins walk from the Bell […] Tower / Moslem Quarter). You hit shops and restaurants sooner, of course. Where I was working was a fair step away and so taxis were needed, but the hotel helped book these. I found the Grand Mercure a completely safe and trustworthy environment. Lisez la suite

Our one aim is to have a comfortable bed & surounds. However, it is the people & staff that can make or break your stay. We found them most helpful & friendly. Especially the girls in the east wing coffee shop. Diana & her three work mates. Anything we wanted to see was in easy reach. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Large hotel complex (together with Sofitel) in a beautiful private garden in the middle of the city. The rooms are a 4 star level but the service is certainly a 5. Everyone in this hotel seems to be smiling. Adjacent to the hotel, we recommend the Habana bar in the Sofitel, great music and here again great service.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. Firstly they did not open the door when the taxi parked right in front of the hotel. It was raining but there was no one to help us with our luggage. There was a door man that did just that... held the door. The room was small and old, smelt a bit damp. The bath tub was leaking every time we had a shower (due […] to poor design). All the facilities where in the Sofitel building, of which were available to all Grand Mercure clients. You had to walk 2mins. You had to pay for WIFI per hour or per day rates. There was no local restaurant in sight. Xian is a doggy city. The taxi rips you off! They drive very slow and weave through small streets. Even when there is a meter then try to inflate it with no explanation. Bell tower and Drum tower are not special. Definitely see the Terracotta Warriors! but you don't need to stay overnight. Although an old building, we could not fault the room nor the service. It is in the business district but you can walk to the drum and bell towers in the heart of the city. There is a great little noodle shop down the road to the left as you walk to Renmin Square

This hotel far exceeded our expectations - from the service, the location, the room, the food - made our trip that much more enjoyable. Traveling such a long distance and not really knowing much about the area this hotel was by far one of our top choices and became our favorite hotel.

the whole complex, comprising Sofitel, Grand Mercure and Mercure, is an oasis in what is a heavily industrialized city. it's an ideal location from which to plan a trip to see the Terracotta Army and other historical sites in Xian.

Meget fint hotel med rigtig god service. Folk ved reception taler udmærket engelsk. Fantastisk flotte omgivelser på Renmin Square med park og vand fontaine.

keurig hotel, ontbijt niet in de kamerprijs, maar is het geld wel waard, erg uitgebreid westers en chinees ontbijt, kamers zeer netjes, personeel spreekt matig engels, kunnen uitstapjes regelen voor je, taxi goedkoop, op wandelafstand van de muur (30 min), leuk om op de muur te fietsen, keurig hotel op plein met diverse hotels, goede service

Special facade, but the interior of the hotel is very nice! Arrived late and the hotel was full, so we got an upgrade. Very nice people, and a nce place!
