First Gold Hotel And Casino Deadwood - Deadwood

The hotel is in immaculate condition. The room was probably the cleanest i've ever stayed in. Only downfall was the location, it's at the south end of the casino strip, meaning riding the trolly is a must. Hotel also provides golf car rides to main complex.

It was a great room for that price. Very large and the front desk staff were very friendly

It's not on the main strip, but the walk isn't all that bad no matter what state of sobriety you are in.

Hotel staff was very accommodating. ATT service is sketchy in the Black Hills and we had no signal in our first room which was on the back side of the hotel. They told us to walk around the hotel and see where we had a signal, we did, told them and they set us up with a different room. Room was small and uncomfortable. Toilet was stopped up when we arrived and it took 2 phone calls and an 1 1/2 to get a guy there to fix it. He walked in, flushed it, said he had to go get tools and left. 30 minutes later he returned with a plunged. Staff and dealers were rude. We won't stay in a motel/hotel that does not offer pet services, even if we are not traveling with our pets at the time. First Gold is pet friendly. Parking is always a problem in Deadwood, especially for bigger vehicles. The parking garage has room for our full size pickup and they even catered to us for parking with our trailer, including shuttle […] service to our room, with our dog. Thanks! Lisez la suite

The only thing I did not like about it is that the trolley did not stop at this site and had to walk to the stop which would not have been so bad but it was raining and in the winter time it is on a hill so would be slippery to walk.

Inconvenient location but did have good shuttle service. Room was so small we had to close bathroom door in order to open door to the hall. Tiny television. Three separate buildings and the main lobby was down a slippery, muddy hill to a parking lot and then down another hill to the main building. Service and accommodations were very good. Room was nice. Very pleasant experience.

I like a king size bed and they are located in a different building that you have to walk to. Very quiet tho.

Clean hotel, great buffet, walking distance to downtown, friendly staff.

We went during Sturgis Rally week, so all the hotels were expensive. The room was nice, even though the beds were some of the hardest we have slept on, we still got a good nights sleep though. It is a little too far to walk to downtown, but the Deadwood trolley takes you there for $1 p/p. It comes about every 20 min or so, pick up is in front of Cadillac […] Jacks. Breakfast buffet was good, but i would keep your eyes open for alternatives! Check in was easy and everything was clean so overall it was a good stay. Lisez la suite

One of the first hotels as you approach Deadwood from the north. 5 minute walk to Deadwood main street. Breakfast buffet has a nice selection. Room was clean and comfortable.

We thought the Hotel was kept up very nice. It was great that we were able to have our pets with us and the rooms and area for the pets were great. We stayed in building B and did think that the front desk person wasn't there long enough into the evening for various questions/needs we had such as towels, etc. We did also think that the TV's were awfully […] small for the size of the rooms! The front desk people were somewhat rude but we refused to let that bother our stay.

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and have always been pleased with it. The rooms are very nice, but the pillows are too flat. Other than that, we have no complaints!

Went to Deadwood for a quick trip, the Gold Hotel was a really nice and clean room. Would stay there again.

This hotel is very clean and quiet! It could use some softer pillows though.

I loved staying Deadwood, saw Mt. Moriah, went down to Main St.. The town goes all out for bike week. However, the wi-fi from my room didn't work cuz it's a poor system. My "tour-guide" was Marcus at the front desk..he told me where to eat, what to see, what not to see....very helpful.

I and other family members have stayed at this hotel for the past 5 years and had a great time. This year we returned after the rodeo to find there was no food service after 9 p.m. In the past they had set up a small appetizer buffet, but this year it was put up after the rodeo started and dismantled before the rodeo was over. Considering a large portion […] of the hotel guests are there for the rodeo, perhaps they could serve food until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday or leave the buffet up for the rodeo crowd. There are only 2 places in the town that serve food after 9 p.m. and that required a taxi ride. The reason we stay there is to avoid a drive. Lisez la suite

For the price, the hotel was fine. Not any amenities except for the casino. Off season so of the registation offices were closed and no breakfast was served.
