Hôtel sympa...on vous prête même des vélos...l'accueil est également sympathique... par contre certaines chambres sont au sous-sol... et aucune ne donne sur la mer...du moins directement... cependant la plage est au pied de l'hôtel et accessible directement...calme et reposant... attention aux moustiques.

L’hôtel était bien, mais nous avons trouvé le rapport qualité/prix un peu élevé par rapport au reste de nos hôtels en Floride, probablement dû au fait d’être sur cette île. Chambre au sous-sol, jolie et propre (on a trouvé un cafard mais ça peut arriver partout). Aucun problème d’humidité comme mentionné dans d’autres commentaires. On aurait préféré […] une chambre au RDV ou 1er étage. Equipement chambre OK (TV, frigo…etc) + piscine Accès internet payant mais en vacances, on en a pas besoin dans notre cas. Accueil sympathique Service de vélos gratuits mais vélos en très mauvais état. Accès immédiat à la mer + prêt chaises longues (mais pas suffisamment pour tout le monde) Rien de bien méchant à reprocher à l’hôtel mais un peu cher selon nous. tout est parfait, sauf le petit déjeuner qui laisse a désirer situé au bord de l'eau, piscine, vélo à prêter... super attention à la réservation car ils proposent des chambres en sous sol ! ça enlève tout le charme de ce sajour sur cette magnifique ile.

Comfortable,very clean and right on the beach. The staff was very accomodating.

Everything went smoothly from check-in until we left the island. We truly enjoyed staying here, it's a great beachfront property. It's a bit on the older side and nothing fancy, but the property is well maintained and the rooms are very clean and comfortable and it's quiet. They also offer a complimentary continental breakfast. We saw stingrays, dolphins […] and beautiful sunsets. The shelling was magnificent. We would definitely stay here again. Lisez la suite

One of a row of hotels and condos along the beach. Nice for the price. Kitchen helpful since no walk to restaurants. Breakfast is handy but uninspired.

This hotel was right on the beach. Chairs and umbrellas are set up each morning for guest use. The bed was very comfortable. The room was roomy with enough space to exercise. Lovely screened in porch which was great for reading. Staff was helpful. We'll be back.

The staff was very helpful, no compaints with them. Also the room was very clean and comfortable except for the fact that it was in the basement and rather humid. I would recommend a room on one of the higher floors. THe motel was under some repair and construction at the time, so that was a little bit od a distraction. My family stayed in the Sanibel sunset hotel during Thanksgiving holidays. It was a great location and wonderful view. The staff was very nice and friendly. Hotel provides beach chairs and bikes for guests - it was very nice. However, the room was not clean and the one assigned to us was in a lower level with no view from outside, very small. Absolutely no complaints about our 2-night stay. Great location and nice accomodations. Plus their fall special gave us a bottle of wine and a $75 voucher for dinner at one of two restaurants. Great deal.

GREAT LOCATION, WOULD COME BACK TRAVELING WITH 2 ADULTS,2 TEENAGE CHILDREN AND GRANDMA. RESORT ROOM WAS CLEAN HAD SMALL GALLEY KITCHEN AND GREAT SCREENED IN PORCH. BATHROOM WAS UPDATED AND VERY NICE. We stayed at the Sanibel Sunset Beach during a "girls weekend". There were four of us sharing two queen beds in a beautifully maintained room with a view of the beach. The beds were comfortable, there was a mini kitchen with microwave, full refrigerator, stove and sink along with cookware and dishes for all of the comforts of home. Our room overlooked […] the pool, and also had an oceanview. The room was decorated with cottage-style accessories and white wooden shutters on the windows and was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a full tub and strong massaging showerhead, complemented by RUSK hair productsand toiletries. The continental breakfast was sparse, but still provided coffee, juice, pastries and apples. Don't expect the usual appropriate continental fare of waffles, yogurt, bananas, etc.. but acceptable. Overall, great place to stay, convenient, very clean and comfortable. We would DEFINITELY stay here again! Lisez la suite

This is not our first time in Sanibel, but we usually stay in Ft Myers and drive to Sanibel (because Ft Myers hotels are cheaper), But we decided to try a hotel inside the island specially with beach access to avoid being late at the beach. I had a free upgrade to the higher level rooms. Room and Bathroom are super nice although doesn't have view to […] the beach they have a nice view to the pool and tennis court.(lower level rooms don't have any view). Flat TV DVD, Everything new! Our room (205) has a small full equipped kitchen (microwave, toaster, refrigerator with freezer, cabinets, sink, cookware and dinning ware) The only small issue that we had is that Wi-fi reception in that room was very low. Free Bicycle rental and Kayak from $13/hr Super huge swimming pool...(up 8ft deep) Super nice Breakfast with Fresh Bakery Donuts, Bagels, Muffins, Croissants, Cereals. Also coffee, juices, tea. and best of all...you can have breakfast at your room...! In general is a really nice hotel that I would recommend to anyone.. Lisez la suite

Very nice and relaxed property- but beware- there are some lower level "basement" rooms with only a small window for the lowest price. We upgraded to a beautiful room with lovely lanai- view of the lawn and ocean. it was so worth the extra cost!

My wife and I spend our 25th anniversary in this hotel and we are very happy with our choice.the room was very very clean and well maintained at all the time. the view was great. we had a free umbrella and chair at the beach.most of all Miss Holly at front desk went out of her way to make our stay more pleasant by surprising us with a basket of fruits […] and a card at our room.we will be back to see Miss Holly again. Mold in the room, it had a smell to it. I would not recommend it at all.

Fully furnished condo, complex is well maintained. Staff was very nice. Location is good - right on beach and close to shopping and restaurants. Beds were a bit soft but that is a personal preference. The furnishings in the living room were a bit dated, dusty and the carpet and upholstery could use an update. There should be some hotel supervision at […] the pools. Some parents were not great at watching their kids around the pool and the slide area was congested, kids sliding down onto others that were swimming in the area. Nice that there were multiple pools to go to on site. Sanibel and Captiva are very nice to visit - great sea shells. Nice beaches to walk along. Would consider staying here again. Lisez la suite

Loved the area for the activities, but I would suggest purchasing some food items to keep in the room as there is very little else in walking distance except sand and sun. The staff was very helpful delivering a new coffee maker at 11 pm when the old one broke so I could get my good night cup of java in. The kids enjoyed it.

This was a great place to stay - the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed all the amenities of home and will reccommend this to our friends and family. This was just awesome.

Location was great!! We were steps away from the beach where umbrellas and lounge chairs were provided. Beach was clean with plenty of shells to collect. Bicycles provided were in decent shape to ride around the island. Office staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast that was offered was satisfactory but not grand. The beagles and muffin selection was a bit limited and at times a bit stale. But on the other hand nice to walk to the front office grab a muffin and go eat on the beach. The beach towels that were proved were nice and always available to grab more in need be from the maid service. Room was cleaned and in order by the returned from our days outing. This was very good for the money. We loved that it was on the beach, they offer a complimentary continental breakfast, and the rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again. It is definetely worth the money though to get the upgraded room with stove and oven. The rooms were perfect for a family, had a full kitchen and table with 4 chairs which came in handy with two babies. Loved the location on the beach and had nice pool and even a bbq area. Free bike rentals and screened in patios. All in all was a great place to stay for over night and even a week. recommend to anyone and hope to go back again.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was updated, clean, and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. It has a beautiful pool and the hotel provides chairs and umbrellas on the beach. It's within steps to the beach-- maybe a little far from town. Would definitely stay here again!

This was my wife's and I second year in a row staying in Sanibel Island, we stayed here both times and would definitely be back next year.

Been twice, and enjoyed it very much both times. Right on the beach, nice pool that is never crowded, nice rooms, friendly helpful staff. One minor negative: free loaner bikes are a bit down in the heel and no functioning small-kid bikes are available.

Very good location

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Beach. The resort had private beach access right outside our door. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The room was very clean with a clear view of the beach. No complaints; would definitely stay there again.

Overall an enjoyable stay aside from a the desk clerk/ manager who was rigid and inflexible regarding the breakfast. We went for a cup of coffee @ 7:22 AM as a thunderstorm was coming and the maid forgot to leave us coffee. The manager refused to let us have coffee until 7:30 AM as the storm hit and we got soaked. Great location, warm pool, grumpy front desk, so-so amenities. Location is great at Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort. The beach has endless shells so I recommend sandals when walking to the water which has a sandy bottom. One particular morning attendant was really rude and snarly. Coffee in lobby, complimentary, doesn't start til 7:30, and when it is gone […] it's gone...or at least when I came back in late morning, it was gone for the day. There was only very sugary cereals and pastries for "breakfast" which you to get in the tiny front office, where there is no space to eat. if you like balconys with your room, stay away from the sanibel rooms. The remainder of the rooms in this hotel looked nice.

This smaller two-story older hotel is not resort that you be pampered. I LOVED IT! This hotel is older, and nothing super fancy, but the rooms are good sized, have safes, decently maintained. Grounds are well cared for. I enjoyed the screened balcony. I stayed 6 nights w/my daughter, so having the kitchen was very nice. Why ... private beach w/free […] resort umbrellas, heated large pool, pool lounges w/partial covers, tennis court, shuffle board ... not crowded. Free bikes get a lot of abuse. I brought my own, and locked them up. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Looked for shells on beach every morning ... never disappointed. Breakfast was simple and perfect. Cereal, donuts, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee. If you plan on relaxing at the beach and pool and enjoying the island ... this place/location was perfect. Traffic is very heavy leaving the island between 3:30 and 6 p.m. (stop and go), so if you are day tripping off the island leaving early and come back later. We also took a guided kayak tour of Ding Darling refuge ... make reservations. Earlier one (8:30) or late afternoon ... you'll see more wildlife. Worth it. Drove to Captiva Island and rented a wave runner for 1 hour from YOLO. Parking is bad on Captiva. Make reservations unless you go when everyone is leaving ... 3 - 3:30 p.m. Dining out usually means waiting for 1 hour, unless you go later like 7 pm. My daughter and I biked a lot ...to the grocery store, the lighthouse, dinner, refuge, etc. Elementary kids might not be able to handle the distances/time on rides. My 11-year old daughter and I did a 16-mile round trip from the hotel to the historic lighthouse on the east end of the island. Two hour riding, not including three stops. You could ride all day and never run out of trails. (22 miles along the roads). Shell museum is a good break from the sun, and to find out what you be collecting on the beach. Terrific hotel --- clean and right on the beach. Nice cabanas at pool --- and beach umbrellas and chairs. Great beach. Be sure to bring your own groceries because there are no stores within walking distance. Lots of good restaurants in Sanibel and nearby Captiva. Watch out for the traffic going off island starting at 3:30 pm. We went to the outlet malls […] in Ft. Myers at 5 pm one day and it took us more than one hour to get from the hotel to the bridge. At check-in, the property was as expected. Not fancy, but clean and SEEMINGLY in good repair. The STAFF was NOT FANCY and NOT POLITE. On the first morning, the maid knocked on the door. I answered it, told her we'd be leaving soon and asked her to come back in 20 minutes. She scowled, rolled her eyes, shook her head and muttered something incomprehensible. The […] hotel rate was to include free wireless Internet. The Internet connection went down in the late morning of the second day. It was still down at midnght so I went the office where the attendant told me he couldn't help but would leave a note. The morning attendant started out rude. She said she didn't know anything about it AND that other guests were asking about it. (I didn't understand how both could be true.) I asked her if she had called it in and she said "No, but they must be working on it. You can go to the library if you want." I asked her to please call it in and she said she would. Hours later, I asked again and she said she hadn't called it in because "they must already be working on it." She was rude and snarly throughout, made numerous contradictory statements and acted as if the guests (including many others besides us) were being ridiuculous for expecting on demand Internet. It was still down when we left the next day. Rude was the order of the day at the Sanibel Sunset Beach Resort. Lisez la suite
