We found our room to be very clean, comfortable and quiet. Nothing fancy, just the basic necessities. Front desk staff was informative and helpful in assisting with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc... All-in-all, great value for what we paid!

I was arriving late and leaving early, so my needs were basic. Late night staff and early morning staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. The morning breakfast was fine. The only negative was that over half of their sign was not illuminated, so I missed it on the first drive by. (very convenient location) I will stay again

This hotel is fine if you only need a bed. It is not close to anything if you are without a car. The furnishings in the room were stained and very dated but the overall cleanliness was ok. In the morning we asked the front desk to call a cab for the airport, it took 25 minutes for a cab to come. If you want bells & whistles, don't stay here. If you want a reasonable hotel for a cheap rate, Select Inn is for you. My family & I booked last minute to spend 1 night before flying out the next day. The area is nice and close to the freeway, airport and major gas stations. There is a train track nearby, but didn't hear a train all night. The lobby […] is plain, though offers free Internet/computer to guests in 15 minute blocks. Just beside the front desk is the area for the continental breakfast. Two table can seat 4 people. Breakfast offers an array of beverages, but the food was sparse. Store bought mini donuts & small muffins in 2 flavors. Apples were in a basket for fresh fruit. They were small, but sweet. If it wasn't winter, I would have thought they came from someone's yard. We had a two queen bed room on the 1st floor. Beds seemed small for a queen & we had to ask for extra pillows as there were only 4...one for each of our heads. There was a microwave, mini frig and bar sink in the room. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open. We had to use a trash can to prop it open to use the light as a night light. There was a general well used feel to the room. Paint needed to be patched, etc. But, it was clean. Our room was close to the vending machines, which were well stocked and reasonably priced. They even had microwave popcorn for the in-room microwave. Though there was a microwave in the breakfast area. One would have to think that the microwave worked 24/7. The front desk clerk the next morning was more concerned about playing solitaire than saying hello to us the next day. She didn't even look up when we had breakfast (& it's hard to miss someone in the area, especially when the security cameras are trained on the area.) The clerk didn't say a word to us when we left after breakfast to look around the town. She didn't say anything to us when we came back to check out. A great hotel,clean ,close to everything. Much needed is more tables in breakfast area. Two tables that seat 2 people only...

My husband and I are usually very easy going, but this hotel is very basic. Front counter staff are not very professional. Incoming calls taken by front counter staff were answered as if the caller was interrupting them. Back door key lock does not work if your room is located at the rear of the building, and when mentioned to the front counter staff, […] they just shrug their shoulders. Traffic is noisy with alot of motorcycles and semi's. This is an industrial area. Would not stay here again. Lisez la suite

Very clean! Rooms were modern looking. My room had a flat screen TV, mini fridge, table & chairs etc. The only thing I dislike was the location, it was about a 10-15 min drive to the shopping areas...

Room was cheap and that is what you get. Rooms were big and the flat screen tv was nice, but hotel needs an update. Breakfast consists of some small doughnuts and muffins with juice and coffee. The maid sprays so much "odor blocker" in the hallways it is overwhelming. Need to make it completely non smoking. Having smoking rooms across from non smoking […] rooms doesn't make any sense. At 8:30am the continental breakfast ran out of food and orange juice, fruit etc, not at all impressed. The hotel lobby & room smelled like air freshener. Not the greatest location next to bobcat ind.

The rooms were clean, although they were smaller than I've been used to. New tv's were installed, so that was nice to see. I think the room was originally designed for one king or one queen bed. When the remodelling was finished, our room had 2 twins..and part of the secone bed frame was pushed up against the door frame to the next room. The big drawback,tho, […] was the continental breakfast. The eating area was very tiny..there was only 1 table there for two people. And the selection of breakfast items were limited..toast or bagels..your choice. No cereal, or waffles, or even fresh fruit. Considering that the price of the hotel was more expensive than other hotels with better amenities, we won't be staying there again. Overall, we were rather disappointed. Lisez la suite

For the price paid for the room, the hotel had little to offer. No microwave, coffee maker, not much of a breakfast offered.

We selected this hotel over cheaper motels due to the extra security of interior only access instead of exterior doors. We didn't expect a lot, but we were surprised at what we didn't get. First, it was noisy. It is located just 1 lot away from active train tracks, and a lot away from a main city industrial truck route, and a couple blocks from the […] interstate. This meant that it was a noisy evening with frequent semi's and occassional motorcycle reving and of course noisy trains. Added to this noise was the fact there was a constant rattle in the AC/Heater unit, and the room was located near the ice machine and pop machine. This meant we constantly heard the compressors running On the positive front, the heater unit warmed up the room really quickly during the night. Next, the room was small; very small, white and sparse. A seemingly not-quite-queen size bed, a night stand, a chair, a small table and a small dresser crammed in. Luckily the room was clean, though the floor seemingly could use a good shampoo -- We ensured we stayed in socks. The bed was comfortable enough, however only 2 basic pillows were available and very basic 'light weight' bedding -- fine if it was 80 outsize, but not when it was down to 30 in the evening. The bathroom door had a loud squeel in it, and the toilet could barely flush a sheet of paper let alone any solids without requring multiple flushes. The "continental breakfast" was a joke -- nothing more than a loaf of bread (for toast), a tray of mini muffins, and a tray of waxy chocolate dipped mini doughnuts, plus orange juice or coffee. There was a 32" LCD TV in the room with a usable remote and quick channel changing (no proprietary slow-to-change channel private systems) with full 80+ channel selection and clear signal. However, one could easily hear the rumblings of the TV from the adjacent room even with your TV on, as they were mounted directly to the wall. We just needed a bed and a shower and this place was okay, but the bed sagged rather badly on one side. The springs were completely shot. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly, so no major complaints. We travel and stay in Grand Forks frequently and have stayed in all but two motels/hotels. They all have their own special quirks and pitfalls […] and this one was no exception. But the price was fine so we booked our next three stays in Grand Forks for the Settle Inn. Lisez la suite

All in all, a decent and cost-effective experience if all you want is a clean bathroom and a warm bed, but about fifteen bucks more than we felt it was worth. This is pretty much a pole barn for storing tourists, but as pole barns go, it's clean, well-maintained, and the staff is friendly. We chose this hotel because it was (a) close to the campus (b) had a room with two queen beds, and (c) had a complimentary breakfast. Truth is, Grand Forks is small enough that EVERYTHING is close to the campus. The beds were indeed queen-size, and the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The real dissapointment was the "breakfast". Basically, they have a coffee maker and a toaster tucked away in the lobby, and they truck in some small pastries and muffins. Good news is that there's a McDonalds nearby. The two times I talked to the staff, they were everything I've come to expect from Midwesterners - friendly, helpful, and "nice". Lisez la suite

Hotel was a little closer to the highway, so you could hear some of the bigger trucks going through. I could also detect some cigarette odor in the building, but the room odor was fine. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel overall and our room was clean. We just needed a place to sleep and it served us well. Price was very reasonable. It has no pool or hot tub so we knew our spare time was spent watching TV, which was good. They had the Halmark channel, good family viewing.
