Hotel Villa Sonia - Castelmola

Avons passé un moment inoubliable dans cet hotel, vue sur l'Etna, terrasse privée attenant à la chambre. Petite bouteille de Champagne et fraises à notre attention à l'arrivée. Trés belle piscine. Un endroit de rêve pour un séjopur en amoureux.

Nous avons séjourné à cet hotel la 1ère semaine de juillet. C'est vraiment un hotel magnifique avec une vue imprenable et de toute beauté sur l'Etna (nous avons même eu la chance de voir une irruption, grandiose!) Cet hotel est situé dans un petit village tranquille et charmant, Castelmola. Il y règne une atmosphère paisible, avec une situation exceptionnelle, […] à 480 m d'altitude, belle place et vieux bourg en vieille pierre avec d'un côté, la vue plongeante sur la côte (Taormina, la côte calabraise) et de l'autre l'Etna. Nous avons bénéficié d'un très bon accueil, le décor de l'hôtel est très harmonieux, un véritable musée de beaux meubles d'antiquaires. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est d'excellente qualité et copieux (viennoiseries, fraîches, jus de fruits pressés, confitures maison...). Les chambres sont grandes et disposent d'une terrasse avec vue sur les montagnes et l'Etna en toile de fond, on ne s'en lasse pas ! La piscine est très agréable, des serviettes sont fournies gracieusement , transats et parasols disponibles, et pour nous désaltérer, un granite à la pêche nous a été servi. Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour dans cet hôtel et le recommandons sans hésitation. Seul petit bémol, dommage que le parking soit facturé en supplément et qu'il ne soit pas inclus dans le prix de la chambre. Lisez la suite

je croyais avoir réserver un hotel a taormina, donc sur la route j étais un peu décu mais lorceque je suis arriver a castel mola( qui est 10 min de route de taormina) jétais bouche bée un petit village magnifique un peut plus haut que taormina. magnifique la vue tout est beau . hotel est tres tres bien belle grande chambre avec un bain tourbillon pas […] de douche . nous avions un grand balcon vue sur le volcan qui est tout eneiger . nous avons réserver cette hotel pour feter la nouvelle année a taormina. la petite ville de castel mola est encore plus belle on y mange bien et les prix sont plus abordable que taormina donc je recommande cette hotel a tous pour le prix , la propretée de l hotel et bien sur le paysage magnifique seul petit hic l insonorisation mais c ca l italie ... Reeeally nice hotel.. in a queit neighbourhood.. with picturesque views of Etna :) Highly recommended for people who like peace, quite.. and amazing views ;)

I would highly recommend this hotel for relaxing atmosphere, friendliness and impeccable service. The staff could not have been more obliging and pleasant.

Helpful anf friendly staff made all the difference... Only regret was our one night stay... Aim to come here to relax, unwind and escape. Glorious views of Etna!

Lovely hotel. Great staff who were universally obliging and helpful. They spoke to us in perfect English and indulged our attempts at Italian with good humour. Our room had magnificient views of Etna and the valley below. We could have used a couple more power points and a comfortable chair or two in the room. The hotel is a little way out of Taormina […] but there is a lovely walk down to the town which takes about 30 mins. Given the elevation it is not so enjoyable walking back up although it works off the ice creams! Hotel is a little way out of Taormina so you will rely on buses and taxis to get you there if you don't have a car. There are however plenty of restaurants in the village of Castelmola so finding somewhere to eat locally is not a problem. There is a minimarket nearby too for essentials. Lisez la suite

The hotel is located in Castlemola - just above Taormina. The location (not in Taormina) is not a problem at all as there is a very convinient public bus as well as hotel (free) transport provided to / back from Taormina and to a fantastic beach. You will need a car if you plan to travel elswhere - i.e. Etna (woth a visit) or other places... The hotel […] is fantastic, rooms of good size, very clean and decorated with love in antiques (the owner obviously loves them as there are some wonderful pieces throughout the hotel). The room was with a spectacular terrace overlooking Etna... place is quiet, well maintained (lovely pool + children pool), there is a small gym space (dont expect a fully kitted gym but you dont really go to Taormina to spend your time on a treadmil) and the staff are wonderful... Giuseppe and Adriana at reception are just so very special, warm, kind and helpful (speak both English and German) and could not do enough to make our stay pleasant. We spent lovely 6 nights there and had a wonderful meal at their restaurant Parco Reale - the veal and sea bass were spectacular (best ever), the smoked fish starter was wonderful and the restaurant staff were lovely. I have to mention Marie (probably didnt spell it right) and Giuseppe (the Owner) who both were wonderful as well. We would more than love to come back and will recommend to anyone. It is close to Taormina but yet a breath away from the noise and hustle and bustle. Although we indeed found the place to be appealing to mature couples (as per some other reviews) and we were the only couple witha small child, we did not find it a problem - our little boy was well looked after and we had a good time. Have to mention breakfast - selection was superb and always fresh. Set in stunning scenery this hotel is a superb place to rest. Not for the faint hearted driving up to it as the roads in this area are very steep and narrow. That said if you have been to Sicily before you will be fine. Hotel reception staff are superb and cannot do enough for you. Views over Etna are stunning and rooms very spacious and comfortable.Breakfast […] is typical Sicilian fare and good quality. Hotel was very quiet so we chose to eat out at night but has a very good reputation for food. Pool is lovely and clean with towels and sunbeds readily available at poolside.Castelmola is a small town overlooking Taoromina and has a few good restaurants and a trendy bar..Bar Turizzi. The only complaint we would have is that the bar in the hotel was closed well before 11pm which when you are on holiday is disappointing.The Hotel was quiet but never the less the Bar should be open later than it was regardless of the number of people. We were very glad we chose Villa Sonia. It has a delightful setting above Taormina with splendid view of Mt Etna. The hotel was furnished with lovely antique furniture, there was a nice pool, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The village of Castelmola is quieter than Taormina. There is a courtesy minibus into Taormina several times a day, […] and also the public bus. The only drawback was the food at dinner. Breakfast was fine but for dinner we think they should hire a new chef. However, there are very nice trattorie in Castelmolo village, we particularly recommend 'Il Vicolo.' Lisez la suite

Hotel Villa Sonia is a lovely hotel situated on the hillside on the edge of Castelmola. We stayed here for 8 nights in July and we cannot speak highly enough of our stay. All the staff were very helpful and attentive, especially Adrianna at reception who, via email, arranged our taxi to collect us from the airport on our arrival and bring us to Villa […] Sonia. Our room was large and very comfortable and even though we opted for a classic room we were lucky enough to have a view of Mount Etna from our balcony. The breakfast buffet was plentiful but being able to eat on the Terrace with a view of Etna made for an exceptional start to the day. The pool area is very well maintained - a nice size pool with clean towels provided each day. Lunch can also be taken poolside so if you don't want to move from the hotel you have to! In the evening we had drinks on the terrace while we watched the sunset then took a short walk to the village centre. Everything was perfect during our stay and we hope to be able to return in the near future. Lisez la suite

This hotel (in the hills above Taormina) was the find of our holiday. Wonderful relaxing hotel with stunning terrace views of Mount Etna (you have to explore hotel to get limited seaviews). Restaurant food was fabulous. Thursday nights have local music and a beautiful dessert buffet. Not many under 35's staying but if it's a chill out place you're […] after, then I can't recommend it highly enough! Only downside is that parking is limited. The hotel's own car park holds about 6 cars max and costs €4 per day. Plenty of parking straight across from the hotel but I don't know how much it costs per day. However, it's best to have a car. Walking to Taormina is a steep descent down a footpath (30mins) but I reckon few retrace their steps back up the mountain and more than likely take the frequent local bus service. Fint hotell. Nydelig utsikt mot Etna. Hyggelig betjening. Enkel frokost. Grei shuttel tjeneste til/fra Taormina. Anbefaler det gjerne.

Fint og hyggeligt hotel. Vi havde booket værelse med stor terrasse og solsenge, hvilket var perfekt til at nyde aftenenerne og udsigten over Etna og dens udbrud. Hotellet ligger et godt stykke op ad en bjergvej (10 min. kørsel i egen bil/20 min. med bus) fra Taormina og busserne til Taormina kører en gang i timen, så det kræver lidt planlægning at […] komme dertil og fra. Skal du på ren afslapning, så er hotellet fint, men vil du også til stranden og se mere af Sicilien, så er et par dage på hotellet nok. Hotellet ligger i Castelmola, hvor der er en 4-5 hyggelige restauranter i gå-afstand. Hotellet tilbyder WIFI, men forbindelsen er elendig og du skal have nyt brugernavn/password dagligt, hvilket er besværligt. Morgenmaden er ok, men ikke prangende. Juicen virkede nogle dage fortyndet og der var sjældent croissanter nok til alle. Det galdt om at komme tidligt til morgenmaden... UDsigten fra morgenmadsrestauranten er fantastisk. Hotellet har gode parkeringsmuligheder og hvis du ikke selv synes at det er sjovt at parkere på bjergvejen, så er hotellets personale flinke til at parkere for dig. I værelsesprisen havde vi betalt ekstra for gratis shuttlebus til og fra Taormina. Desværre gik den kun 3 gange om dagen og på nogle kedelige tidspunkter. Spar dig for den og brug den offentlige transport. Kunne godt finde på at bruge det igen, men kun 1-2 overnatninger og ikke i en hel uge. Lisez la suite

NEGATIV: Das Hotel hat sicher bessere Tage gesehen. Die Duschkabine hatte Schimmel. Im Nebenzimmer fehlte das warme Wasser. Die Bettwäsche war sauber. Das Service im Restaurant und die Küche waren enttäuschend. POSITIV: Die Rezeptionsangestellten waren professinonell. Die Aussicht auf Etna ist schön, jedoch eine Fahrstunde entfernt.

Vi hade en mycket trevlig vistelse på Villa Sonia. Servicen var utmärkt inte minst att hotellet hämtade oss efter en kväll i Taormina, - det hade blivit många trappsteg att ta tillbaka till hotellet i Castelmola. Att sedan vakna upp till den fantastiska vyn med vulkanen Etna i bakgrunden förgyllde tillvaron ytterligare. Hit kommer vi åka tillbaka.

Ricavato da una struttura antica,delicatamente appoggiato allabase della rocca ospitante Castelmola con vista mozzafiato sulla sottostante vallata,l'hotel è gestito con un'attenzione all'ospite talora difficile da trovare negli hotel più blasonati. Le stanze sono molto generose,accurata è la scelta del mobilio,il personale è di una gentilezza rara.Saputo […] che la mia compagna compiva gli anni,la Direzione ha deliziato la già ottima cena (raccomandata!)di una torta a sorpresa. Siamo stati un solo giorno ma ci proponiamo di tornare per almeno tre per approfittare pienamente del luogo e della struttura. Lisez la suite
