TRES BON SEJOUR.

"Hotel COVA a San Francisco"

A recommander toutefois

"Hotel COVA proche Union Square San Francisco"
"Nice hotel in a challenging location"
Price per service ratio was good. The hotel itself is nice and cosy. The location close to not so friendly neighbourhood is challenging especially when travelling with kids. Free internet and breakfast a clear plus. And free shuttle to union square and fishermanwarf a good remedy for the challenging location.
"close to sfu where we were visiting our grandson"
Overall, a very nice hotel. We appreciated the unlimited use of our car for the flat daily rate. Lovely 8th. floor terrace. We would stay there again.
"Nice place, bad neighbourhood"
We loved the hotel, it was real nice. Clean rooms, free breakfast, and friendly staff. The only problem was its located in the so called "tenderloin" there are a lot of homeless and sketchy people. If you look like a tourist they eye you down or ask for money. However just a few blocks up and over, just a short walk you were on the trolley or market […] square. Lisez la suite
"great value for vacationing in San Francisco-"
Stay was great- the surrounding neighborhood of hotel was a bit shady-all though close to Union Square we made sure to walk the better neighborhoods when we ventured out- the breakfast was bit disappointing since I dont usually have sliced ham or turkey for breakfast and noticed many people actually making sandwiches with the breakfast food and leaving […] the breakfast room with them. It would have been nice to have a few different options for breakfast. Room was clean and spacious.Front desk helpful and attentive. Lisez la suite
"Nice hotel in terrible neighborhood"
The hotel is very nice and well maintained. Unfortunately, the surrounding neighborhood is not. I did not feel safe walking in the surrounding neighborhood late at night. If you are concerned about feeling safe, then I would consider staying a nicer neighborhood. If you don't mind, the hotel is very adequate and a great value.
"Relaxing rooftop Balcony"
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the Cova. There are some downsides to be aware of, like the neighborhood, the very poor breakfast selection and the lack of AC in the room (I couldn't find the thermostat) but the upside is there is plenty of parking, the rooms are spacious, and the roof top Balcony is fantastic! It's a newly refurbished hotel […] with easy access to Union Square shopping. Lisez la suite
"I don't know how this is rated at 3.7!!!!"
There is NO AIR CONDITIONING in the rooms. The breakfast was awful. I think it canters to Europeans. Breakfast options are white toast and cereal. Other options ham, turkey, lettuce, tomatoes. We stayed two nights and there was never enough glasses for juice or mugs for coffee. There are four people working this "breakfast" and at other hotels two people […] do a much better job. It was ok.
"BAD BAD BAD Location"
I recently stayed at the COVA for a girls trip. We didn't know the city and assumed that, since the hotel looked nice and was in downtown, that it would be fine. Plus, we got a reasonable rate on the room. While driving to the hotel, we passed the opera house and state buildings (it was beautiful!). Then, we turned a corner and went a couple of blocks […] down to what looked like a crackhead hang out. When we checked in, we asked how far a local steakhouse was and, since it was close, we mentioned that we might walk. The clerk that was checking us in warned us not to walk, we should take a cab or a shuttle. What he did not tell us, our cabbie happily filled us in on. This hotel sits right in the heart of the Transexual Hookers' hood. We apparently passed a couple of their pimps (who I assumed where crackheads) on our way out. He warned us over and over not to walk and to have whoever brings us back drop us off right next to the hotel entrance. He GAURANTEED that we would be jumped by one of these transgender working girls if we walked their turf. Be warned! Lisez la suite

"Nice location in SF"
We spent the first day of our honeymoon here. This is a nice little boutique style hotel. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had to use a portable heater they provided since it was Winter. The continental breakfast was sparce. Great location in San Francisco with a shuttle service. Valet parking on site.
"COVA - San Francisco"
The actual hotel was nice: modern, clean, nice room and bathroom, frindly staff, breakfast. (The gym was small and poorly equipped). BUT the surrounding neighboorhood - full of alcoholics, homeless people, drugdealers and junkies. All around! The funny thing is that it is just the nearest surrounding neighboorhood that is like this, only a couple of […] blocks in each direction. The neighboorhood is called Tenderloin I think. And then sharply beyond that it is "clean" again. You had to take a taxi to and from the hotel in order to avoid these people (they may be harmless but you never know), especially after dark. So I would not recomend this hotel actually, especially to girls. It is a pitty because the actual hotel is nice and quite centaly located. Lisez la suite

"The Cova Hotel - very modern"
We were very pleased with our hotel stay at Cova. It was clean and the staff very friendly. Our bathtub was peeling and the room got pretty warm. There was no fan or air movement unless you turned on the heater. We slept with our sliding glass door open for some air which made it very noisy to sleep. Also it is a little concerning walking down the street […] in the evening to go out to dinner with all the homeless people. Tried to find other routes to walk. The shuttle the hotel provides is very nice and helpful just make sure you reserve it as soon as you know when you will need it as it does fill up. Lisez la suite
"Downtown, but not the best area"
Within walking distance of Union Square (10 mins) and Moscone (15 mins). Very spacious rooms, good service. The only downside is the location in the Tenderloin, which is not the nicest neighborhood.
"Visit to San Fran form UK"
Stayed at Cova for 5 nights in March 2012 , prior to booking I read the "tripadvisor " reports , I must say all in all my wife and I found the hotel perfectly comfortable and adequate for our stay. The room , bed and facilities were good , the complimentary breakfast ideal for UK visitors to start your day must be worth $10 -$15 per day. The staff were […] very pleasant and accomodating , the complimentary shuttle which we used to Fishermans Wharfe a couple of times, again is great. The location of the hotel is 10 minutes walk from Union Square one hub of city activity , if people follow the route suggested by Cova they will avoid passing the homeless people gathering around the hostel a block or so away. We have homeless people in the UK begging on the streets of London, it not much different in San Francisco , there may be a few more in a concentrated area , which you can easily avoid. "Cova WAS GREAT"
My husband and I enjoyed the stay at Cova. The shuttle service was fantastic. The shuttle vehicle was comfortable and the epitome of luxury.(Mercedes Van) The day staff was very helpful and concerned with whatever concerns we had. The location was not so great but nothing that was dangerous. The price is worth a little hoodness (just kidding). You will […] enjoy your stay at Cova, the rooms are very contemporary. "Nice hotel in worst location"
I travel often and am not usually taken back by any given location of a hotel. This hotel was so nice inside from the photos online, I simply assumed the location could not be that bad. Yet, the location was HORRIBLE! I cannot stress enough how bad the location was. My girlfriend and I were actually so concerned we left after one day of a three night […] stay. I was a accosted by prostitutes and crack dealers at night just walking a block from the hotel. I literally saw more drugs in 5 minutes on this street than when I lived 3 months in the getto in Minneapolis. If you are into that kind of thing, this hotel is perfect. Otherwise run far away from here. They will tell you the area is not bad, but it is.... very very bad. Lisez la suite
"COVA Hotel San Francisco"
Excellent staff with free shuttle to wharf, downtown, and Moscone Center. Central location with fairly easy walk to downtown and Moscone Center. Cean rooms well maintained. Location might be questionable for some - no problems. Good breakfast European style. Wife and I would stay again without question.
Overall a great room for the price. Breakfast included is a plus as well as adjoining parking ( though pricy - $25/day). Would not credit FF miles because room was booked through Hotels.com(??)

"Hotel Cova A true taste of San Francisco!!"
I had a great and very enjoyable stay at the Cova Hotel. The room was spacious and very clean, great towels and other bathroom amenities. They have a shuttle to the convention center and other major points of interest. The staff is very willing to help with directions, rides and suggestions. The breakfast is wonderful, a little European and American […] combined, and to top it off the dinning area is on the eight floor!!!! Sure it is in the Tenderloin District but that just adds more flavor to the City by the Bay. Lisez la suite
"Hotel cova"
The hotel is beautiful. There is very good security. The people who work there are nice and helpful. The breakfast was basic and the neighborhood is not great. But it's convenient and safe.
"Nice Stay but walker beware"
The COVA was very nice and had some awesome amenities, the roof top terrace was especially nice at night to share glass of wine and check out the city lights. However the walk through the neighbor hood wasn't for the faint of heart, you had to walk through some rough neighborhoods to get there, if you're not used to that in the city, if bums and prostitutes […] make you nervous I would take a cab. Lisez la suite
"Nice room for the price"
Hotel staff friendly and accomadating. very clean and comfortable beds. The shuttle to the pier was nice. The neighborhood was a little scary, were not use to people sleeping in the streets and that sort of thing, luckily we had the kids with I think that helped as I heard people saying "kids on the block"......???? I would recommend this hotel to friends […] and family. Lisez la suite
"Cova Hotel in San Francisco"
Hotel is nice. A recommended lodge. Breakfast is plenty. Room clean and cozy. But remind yourself the surrounding is the tenderloin area. Not that you need to be scared or intimidated, but you need to expect what to see, esp at night. Communication with hotel.com is probably not great, coz they didn't know I booked a double supreme king room and originally […] supplied a single supreme king. Lisez la suite
"Cova Hotel - Better than Expected!"
I had a very good stay at the Cova Hotel. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The shuttle was a big plus. It dropped off and picked up right in front of the Moscone Center where Macworld was been held. And was always on time. But it also went to Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf. Sure there were some homeless people around but they were harmless. […] I'm from LA were I see homeless people everyday. The room decor was very nice. It looks just like the pictures. I had no trouble connecting to wireless internet. The heat wasn't quite working but room service brought up a portable heater that heated up the room effectively. And the breakfast was better than I expected. They had a waffle maker, toast, ham, turkey and plenty of OJ, Milk, Coffee and Tea for everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and have officially made this my place to stay for Macworld. Lisez la suite
"Ouch!"
Beware of the parking! Enough said.
"Not worth it"
Although the Cova hotel has done a facelift, it still remains a far cry from the advertised 3 star rating. The rooms do not have an individual heat control so I froze most of the night. Stains all over the carpet, and the carpet was dark so you can imagine how many stains I couldn't see. Mold in the shower and I had a general unclean feeling my entire […] stay. Also, the hotel is in an area populated by a lot of homeless (as its right by the housing authority) so you have to be comfortable with that. Lisez la suite

"A diamond in the rough"
The hotel is a block from the Tenderloin. However, once you pull in the parking lot you would never know. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. I thought it was an extradordinary deal in comparison to hotels that are only a $5 or $10 cab ride away. The rooms are nice and a good size. The beds are comfortable and the linens good. The only issue is […] if you want a full service hotel with 24 hour service and the like, because it doesn't have that. The hotel is very solid and comfortable, and for the price it is an excellent deal. Will definitely stay there again. Lisez la suite

"Good roof deck & breakfast. No good neighborhood."
--- Just as everyone wrote. Neighborhood was really not ideal though tolerable as it was not so far from stations and bus stops. I had to be cautious while walking by myself early in the morning and even during daytime with my wife and daughter. Otherwise hotel was in good conditions and I liked breakfast on the top of bldg.
"Nice Place......."
Other than colorful location, good value for the money!
"Good hotel, bad neighborhood - Not for 1st timers"
We stayed at the Hotel Cova over the holidays for three nights. It was easy to find, park our car ($$/day), check-in, and connect to the wireless. Lobby was welcoming, staff were helpful and the room was fine, clean, tasteful with nice shampoos, etc. The problem is the neighborhood - my Dad lives 4 blocks away, so we walked numerous times through this […] edge of the Tenderloin area, and it was not pleasant. I would not recommend this for foreign visitors or first-time visitors to SF, you'll take away a nasty impression if you walk anywhere from the hotel. There were a fair amount of homeless people and shady situations. If you don't mind a little edgy feeling of the neighborhood, this is a good deal for a nice hotel, just keep your wits about you when you walk out the door. Lisez la suite
