"STAFF OK"
older hotel, has done some updates. still some minor work to be done in my room that I let front desk know about. Ironically my reservation was never received by hotel when I walked in . The front desk was very helpful in getting it squared away. Nice work by her!

"Nice location."
Great time. The people that stayed right next store were very noisy , in hallway till after 3 am. That's the only complaint. Very clean ,great room. We will definitely stay there again.
"Bike to the Beach Week stay"
The hotel had covered parking, great for motorcycles. The pool & bar/deck area looked nice, too, although we didn't use it. The hotel seemed to be recently painted. It seemed to be kept clean. It is in a great location. The front desk representative was very nice and check-in/out was very easy. Our only complaints were that there were ants in our room (313) and the beds were not comfortable at all. We kept sinking into the middle. The sheets were also stained and worn. The location was awesome and I enjoyed the balcony.

Great location. Easy walk to many attractions. Lots of dining options within walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

good price..grest location right on the board walk. However we could tell that they just painted to rooms..smells like newly cut drywall and barely dry paint.
We had a great stay. The hotel was great. The staff was very helpful. The location was great. We plan to go back again in September and stay at this hotel again. Thanks Tidelands.

The conformation stated there would be a sofa. I had the 2 queen beds but no sofa.
"Super Close to the Boardwalk"
The hotel was pretty decent. It was the second time I had stayed here. The room was pretty clean but there were some small hairs on the bed. Also, the bathroom paint was peeling on a corner of the wall. It is a great location being on 5th street on the boardwalk though, which puts it close to the popular attractions on the Boardwalk.

Room was very dirty. No extra roll of toilet paper, light bulbs out in bathroom, TV hand control did not work. Slate floors VERY cold.

"Room was cold"
The only complaint I had was room was so cold and they had turned heat off. i stayed on a cold and windy day. My stay would have been more pleasant if I had just a little heat. They turn heatinng system off too soon.

I realize this hotel is at a beach with a wonderful location and gets heavy use in the summer months, but for the money they are charging they could update the beds, make sure frozen glass bottles of iced tea are not left in the refrig. Also, sink and cups used for coffee were not cleaned.

It was aweful! Keys don't work, no ice and when available you have to pay, REALLY? Staff could have cared less, rooms smell, not one chair or table in (2) double rooms?????? Ants............ I will never stay there again. Tip: DONT DO IT!

Hotel is in a great location right on the boardwalk. We had an oceanfront room with balcony which was awesome. Room is definitely in need of an update.

Our room was clean and we had a frig which was conveniant for keeping soda and water. The location was great, walking distance to just about everywhere. The staff at the front desk was very nice. Overall, our stay was great, this was the second time we stayed here and we will be back.
"Not worth the $$"
The price we paid was good, but the hotel was not at all what we expected. The reviews didn't really reflect what we found. There was mildew on the ceiling of the room and in the bathroom. The bathroom fan did not work, which might explain the mildew. Overall, the hotel just shows its age.

The room cleanliness was ok. Found trash behind the night stand and corners were not dusted well. The bathroom was very disappointing. The filter for the whirlpool bathtub was covered in mold. "Location doesn't mean cleanliness"
This hotel is right on the boardwalk and has two bedroom suites. The staff was nice. However, the bathroom wall had enough mold to start a penicillin farm, the couch had a huge stain on it as did most of the chairs, the room was non smoking, yet we found ashes on the balcony, and the ceiling had dust bunnies that frightened my 4 year old. Sad to say, […] many of the OC hotels are like this. Doubt they will ever fix these issue as they are in a prime location. Luckly we spend most of our time at the beach or boardwalk. "Disappointed!"
This could be a very nice hotel but it's not! The room was very spacious with 2 kings and a sofa bed and still plenty of room to move around. The tile floors were a good idea for a beachfront hotel. The balcony was disappointingly small, room for only 2 chairs in a 6 person room. But the service was NOT good. Booked the room for 4 people but there were […] only 3 bath towels and 2 wash cloths when we arrived, no hand towels. Asked for more and they didn't arrive until the next day. No maid service the day after we checked in even though there was supposed to be daily service. The next day only one of the beds got made. The hotel just isn't being kep up. The real problem was the bathroom. The entire toilet wasn't set into the floor correctly and rocked back and forth. We asked for maintenance to check it out but no one ever showed up. It is not as depicted in the picture. It is not Ocean Front. It is one block away. The Bay view is not looking at the Bay (Ocean), It is looking at the street. All you see is cars passing by. The beds were horrific. The queen size beds were HARD as a rock and they made loud noises as you move a pinch. We left one day early because our backs were in […] pain. A floor is more comfortable than those horrific beds. The small refrigerator was not working properly. It was so small you can only fit food for two people. The building was dirty. The stairs smelled and there were some wiring violations. The pool was dirty, the water was not cleared and smelled. I was very dissapointed of the service and the hotel. They can keep the extra day, I rather lose money than losing my back to that awful bed. They really need to change the beds. Lisez la suite
"Great suite at regular room cost, great location"
We had a 2 bedroom suite, with a kitchenette, with a seoarate sofa and table and chairs area. Lots of space, spacious balcomy. Definitely would stay again, great location.

The hotel was in a great location and the rooms were very large and accomodating. However, the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was in bad shape. Nails were actually falling out of the bathroom door. The AC worked great in the room and there was even an AC vent that blows on you in the shower hich was interesting

This hotel has potential to be a great hotel. Location is perfect, setup of hotel is very nice, and the two bedroom suite is nicely set up, although the kitchenette was less than functional. I do not consider three glasses, 5 cups and a little silverware as a functional kitchenette. In addition, there are some very important changes needed very quickly […] if they want to continue to request the dollar value for this hotel. First and foremost, they need new hotel and cleaning managers. The cleanliness of the room when we arrived was terrible most specifically the condition of the bathroom including a used bath towel still sitting on the bathroom floor. I called the front desk twice and only when I specifically stopped a women in the hallway and took her directly to our room did I get any satisfaction in cleaning of the room. The front desk was less than helpful and was very busy talking on their personal cell phones...thus the need for a new hotel manager to set the proper guidelines. The hotel pool, bar and grill area was very nicely located and well maintained, however, the cost of a single drink was outrageous. I strongly recommend you do not consider drinking at the hotel. There was also a large number of young drinkers (I am sure over 21 but just barely) standing and drinking by the doorway with absolutely no manners and way too much to drink. Again, it appears that some good common sense management could make it much more pleasant for a family setting. So bottom line, I think with some very easy fixes this hotel could put themselves on the map as a great place to stay, but until the changes, I would not say this is a good value for your money at all. The room, for the most part, considering salty weather was good. I think improvmenets could have been made on the bath to keep it looking great by maintaining the grout. I was very pleased with my stay. The room was very big and SO clean, with a private balcony. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ate the Blue Fin Bar and Grill and the staff there was wonderful, and the food very good. The location was perfect. Right on the Boardwalk, and close to everything. I will definitely be staying here again!!

Staff was responsive to our requests. Only complaint would be that our room key cards failed to open our door about 85% of the time so we would have to go back to the lobby and get them reprogrammed!

When we first checked in the floor in our room had not been swept or vacuumed, there was also ants all over the room. The women came up with raid and sprayed, and left me the can. While she was there i lifted up the coffee tray because I seen ants coming from underneath it. There was a bunch of sugar under it and on the dresser and was infested with […] ants. I have to assume it had not been cleaned in a while, so I cleaned it myself. The beds were like sleeping in a bowl (you need new mattresses). The staff were mostly pleasant and I need to appologize to the young lady at the desk on Friday. I was a little angry about the room and the fact that the ice machines were also all broken. "Slightly Run-down Beach Hotel - No-Frill Rooms"
Very pragmatic beach hotel that is a bit run-down but serviceable in a pinch. It was the only "suite" option that we could get at less than an exorbitant rate, and it was not terrible, but it was loud and no-frills. A key issue with our "suite" that was not clear before we booked is that there are no doors between the different rooms (other than the […] bathroom) so that there is no privacy at all. All the external walls are concrete, and all noise out in the halls echoes loudly so that you can easily hear it in the bedroom closest to the door. It is very close to the Board Walk and close to one of the 2 main bridges to the mainland, so it is pretty well located. Parking was a bit sparse under the hotel, though we did manage to mostly find it there rather than have to retreat to the pretty distant overflow parking area. The pool is the size of a postage stamp and was always overwhelmed; admittedly, most of the other surrounding hotels had pretty small hotels too. The galley kitchen was very small and hard to do any true food preparation in. The refrigerator in particular was really small (smaller than any other hotel refrigerator on our recent multiple-hotel trip). We had problems connecting to the WiFi more often than not, and during 2 of the 4 days, the WiFi connection kept going in and out, but the hotel staff did restart the router when we asked, and it did help (for awhile). If you are fine with a noisy vacation hotel, then this will probably be okay, but if you're looking for a room where you can spend a decent amount of comfortable quality time, this is probably not the right option for you. All in all, there are probably worse hotels in Ocean City, but this hotel and its "suites" are certainly not worth a premium price tag. Lisez la suite

I also had a hard time getting into the room, the door was broken. The parking was not very good, at times had to park blocks away. I would not recommend this hotel. Bathroom had mold on floors and in tub. Fan not functioning , mold on ceiling above beds. 2 of 3 lamps not working . Safe broken. Pool bathroom was absolutely filthy. Daily newspaper machine never filled. Hotels not connected to each other, only had 1 trolley for entire hotel for luggage transport. 1 elevator total.staff very uninformed about surrounding […] attractions food etc. Parking very inconvenient To sum it up the hotel was not worth the money I paid for my family to stay there . "The place You don't want to be"
Aweful. Dirty throughout hotel, left on the SIXTH day paid for Seven but didn't care about the money, on the fifth nite , NEXT DOOR ROOM had a party get together @ Three oclock in the morning, kids got sick from all the Noise, SCREEMING, BANGING going on, left a couple hours later ,POOR desk , maid service, dirty FLOORS, sand everywhere, DON'T STAY […] HERE Lisez la suite
Front desk personnel were absolutley clueless and not helpful. Cleaning staff was very nice however the rooms could be cleaner. Black mold in the bathroom and everything took forever to be handled. Bed were very uncomfortable and the kitchen areas need some serious renov! Over priced for what you get. The roof top pool was terrible and small. "6/25/2011 to 7/2/2011 Vacation"
This hotel was a great stay. It is in the heart of Ocean City. It is right on the Board Walk. The rooms are very clean and the help was very polite. We met a lot of great people. My wife is in her late 20's and I'm in my mid 30's. It was perfect for us. We went as a couple and had a blast. There we're kids in the building, but it was not uncomfortable […] in any way. "Not the Best-Not the Worst"
I expected better, but the room was clean and quiet. There wasn't a single chair in the room we had, so to watch tv we had to sit on the bed.Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of room for one, there just wasn't one.We could see the ocean from our room.
Overall not a bad place to stay. Our issues with it were no blinds over half windows in our end unit. Sun shone brightly in at 7am. Alot of bugs at night when sitting on balcony. Some of their parking is 2 streets away. At 3:30 one day they had no towels or washclothes available and said it may be an hour. It ended up being about a a half hour. No hotel […] should be running out of linens at that time of day at the beach. But the hotel was clean, room large, beds comfortable. Staff pleasant. Good location. The hotel bar area is nothing special at all. Pools looked decent. We didn't use them. They could use another elevator but our wait times on the top floor honestly were not that bad overall. THE BAD: This hotel is not a prime place to stay. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was rudely greet by a teen running the counter who preferred to chit chat with a beach-goer than make sure I had everything I needed. When we walked into the room, we all agreed that it was a nice two bed room. The floors were tile (proved a problem down the road) and we […] had a view of the strip. The tile flooring, though nice looking, was constantly dirty. Room service only came one day out of the three we were there. We had to constantly call the front desk to get new towels because they wouldn't take our old ones. Another issue was our shower couldn't be on for more than 5 minutes without making a loud high pitched squealing noise. For the price we paid, we should have expected it. It was one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest on the boardwalk at the time. Just don't assume if it's on the boardwalk, it is worth the stay. As we walked the boardwalk, we passed by hotels and dreamed about a night or two in a real hotel. THE GOOD: The location is perfect for Ocean City. You are right on the boardwalk and as soon as you exit the hotel, you are pretty much at the beach. You are close to rides and as much food and shopping you can possibly imagine. On the other side, you have a short walk to miniature golf, boat rentals, dining, and more shopping. Though we were not thoroughly pleased with our time at Tideland's, we enjoyed everything aside from it. We won't be returning to this hotel again, but we will continue vacationing on the boardwalk.
