I was in town for two days and decided to try this affordable B & B. It is just off of State Route 4 in downtown Troy and wasn't too difficult to locate. Albany is minutes away. The neighborhood is a little run down but the Olde Judge Mansion itself is in very good shape. The parking lot is fenced in and is small, so larger vehicles might have a hard […] time navigating in and out. Tina, the host, is very accommodating and pleasant. Incredible breadfast. Friendly accommodating staff. Could be better neighborhood.

The B&B owner is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home the minute you walk in the door. The rooms are kept clean and nice, and the common areas are gorgeous. The owner was amazing at making sure I had everything I needed, and even sat and had a conversation with me a breakfast. It was a wonderful experience and a wonderful stay.

If i had one place to choose to stay I will choose the Olde Judge Mansion every time ! Tina is really wonderful!!! Incredible rates, very clean rooms, free snacks pie or brownies upon arrival, then the free complimentary breakfast is a real feast !!! Pancakes, ham, cheese omelette, country potatoes, cottage cheese, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea, fresh […] fruits; the whole nine yards !!! (don't believe hotels.com saying there is no breakfast!!! Tina tried to tell them for years but they never update their website information for this great bed & breakfast) There is only a few rooms available at very very affordable price!!! If you want to eat there is plenty of restaurant nearby but I suggest you Ali Baba a few miles away... Enjoy !!! Lisez la suite

A gem of a bed and breakfast! Location a little iffy, but the warmth and friendliness of owner was a big plus. Plus it's a lovely historical old house with a great morning breakfast!

Christina is the proprietor of this B&B located in downtown Troy. She will go to great lengths to make you feel welcome. She is clearly the highlight of this property. I look for three things in accommodations: clean, comfortable, and quiet. Old Judge scores big on the first two. However, it is located in a rather noisy neighborhood and the street noises […] are everywhere in the house. I stayed on a Saturday night, and there were car and bus noises, plus locals with their car radios on high, until about midnight. The location isn't the greatest. There are a few boarded up properties within 2 blocks of the Old Judge, which just doesn't instil confidence. I'm not sure how "rough and tumble" the neighborhood really is, but driving it in the dark did have me locking my doors. The property itself isn't really a mansion, but rather a large single-family house that was converted into a funeral parlor in the early 1920s and into a B&B in the very late 1990s. Maybe I expected too much, but it just didn't feel "old and authentic," though most of the woodwork is original to the 19th century. I would recommend this for an overnight or two-night stay. Christina does a yeoman job making the guest feel truly welcome, and the price is very low for a B&B. The off-street parking is good, but to me just lent a little bit of concern that the fences and locks were necessary in this part of town. Expect a slightly creeky old house with character and an owner who will almost smother you with all the attention you desire. Lisez la suite

Lovely place. Tina was wonderful. But stayed on a Saturday night and the street noise was horrendous and had fitful sleep.

Our stay was very comfortable and convenient. The old house was absolutely charming, with antiques and old family photos. The set up of the rooms and bathrooms is comfortable and private. Overall it was a wonderful experience, much better than a generic hotel.

Convenient to RPI; lovely, comfortable home; gracious, hospitable hostess (Tina); delicious breakfast and treats available; Stewart's across the street. Saturday Farmers Market at River St. is well worth a visit.

Tina is a most gracious hostess and delightful conversationalist. The OJM is a truly Victorian style home and she has made it very welcoming and enjoyable. We spent time in Saratoga at the races and it was a perfect place to stay - easy to get to Route 9 and then on to Saratoga. Check in was a breeze, and Tina was very very nice. We were given a tour and it is absolutely beautiful inside. The neighborhood isnt great but there is off-street parking which was a great relief. The bed in the Urzan room was a little hard but the fact that each room had its own bathroom made up for it. The only downside really was the lack of a DVD […] player in the room. I would also suggest bringing your own water because the tap water had a bad taste. The breakfast in the morning was great as well. Will most definitely go back there! Lisez la suite

Looking for the least expensive, clean place to stay while doing the college tours, I stumbled on the Olde Judge Inn in Troy late one night. Amazing--the least expensive place to stay in the area, having great ratings AND a B&B! Tina, the owner, is so friendly and inviting, we felt like part of the family, and we arrived very late but she and Michael […] made arrangements for us to get in without disturbing anyone. The room was comfortable, roomy, and even the futon that my son slept on was comfortable. We shared a Bathroom with other guests but there were plenty of towels and instructions for everything. Breakfast and conversation with Tina and a couple of other guests in the morning was wonderful. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is staying one or many nights. The "common" spaces (living room, dining room) were comfortable and conducive to relaxing or enjoying the company of others. Lisez la suite

My first experience in a bed and breakfast... Tina was very kind, very helpful... Nice room, nice mansion, great breakfast in the morning : Tina made a delicious omelette, with country potatoes, pancakes with fresh fruits, yogurt and cottage cheese... You can ask for more!!! It's a very poor neighborhood so don't go walk after dark... but there is […] plenty of restaurant to eat around... Also, safe parking in the back of the mansion with the name of your room for your parking space... Affordable, clean, great service; a must !!! Lisez la suite

And there is a full breakfast, contrary to what is written on this site. Very comfortable, friendly atmosphere. I had interesting conversations at breakfast.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we arrived very late, but Mark, the owner, waited for us and tried to make us a comfortable as possible. there were late night snacks waiting, but because of the late hour, we passed them up. The on-line info said there was only off-street parking, but they do have a private lot in the back of the B & B. The […] neighborhood seemed very questionable at night, but we had no problems, and got a good night rest. The interior of this house is very charming, built in the late 1800's, and the woodwork was amazing. Tina, the owner, prepared a wonderful breakfast of egdgs, bacon, home fries, muffins, coffee, etc. and more. Tina and Mark are both delightful people and we had a lovely visit. This place seems to be a favorite of parents of RPI students, and we could see why. We felt right at nome there. Lisez la suite

While I can not say much for the area of town the Olde Judge Mansion itself was absolutely fantastic. They had nice off street parking (hard to come by in Troy) a clean and spacious mansion and the owner was attentive, informative and even upgraded our room for free since there was a larger one unfilled for the night. I am very glad I found this place […] as I am an alumni of RPI and intend on using them again whenever I visit. My only disappointment was that I was staying for only one night. Lisez la suite

Lovely hotel, wonderful hostess. Timid people and women traveling alone should enquire about the nieghbor hood.

Its a beautiful mansion and run by this sweet lady who is very cooperative.
