"artificial beaches"
Food was good. Information regarding services and excursions were lacking. Outside excursions should be better organized and only by hotel personnel not by outsiders. Bad organization--too scattered. Everything is centered around a pool. The beach is as hard as concrete and the tiny pebbles cut your feet. The beach is not cared for. Nightly Entertainment […] is fair and finishes before 11--not much to do. Lisez la suite
"Gran Bahia, Jamaica"
I stayed at the Gran Bahia with some friends during the Christmas season. I had a fantastic time, good food, great location and drinks were flowing. It was a great escape from the cold winter.
"Gran Bahia Principie"
Great choice for R&R, we had a great time will revisit.
"gran bahia principe- don't bother"
This hotel is so big you feel like you are in a badly organised summer camp. you would be lucky to find a space by the pool by 9am in the morning. I would normally never stay in an allinclusive hotel, but my friend was getting married here, and I felt for her as the wedding was so badly organised, no private space, the food was the same as the buffet, […] even though she was charged per head, and the wine was undrinkable. The hotel staff were the most unhelpful and miserable looking I have ever seen, but then when you hear how much they are paid you cant blame them. I came away feeling like i needed another holiday as it was so stressful to stay there. probably the worst hotel I have stayed in in years. Lisez la suite
"Seven Nights At Gran Bahia, Runaway Bay, Jamaica"
My wife and I had a splendid time at the Gran Bahia in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The exterior grounds was impeccable; the food was superb and the interior was absolutely gorgeous. The service was excellent and the staff was very corteous. If we absolutely had to find at least one thing which we did not like, it is the fact that the price for the inroom […] safety vault was an additional cost. Lisez la suite
"Good Hotel But Beware of Principe Club Gifts"
We stayed at this hotel for 5 days in May and got it at $200 per night all inclusive. Our overall stay was good. Very satisfied with location and proximity to tourist attractions. Food - Plenty variety but not of the best quality. The hit for us was the Jerk Chicken at the beach bar. Only problem is that they stop serving at 3.00pm and is the first […] food to finish at the Bar. The beach was ok. Have been to better beaches. The bar close to the lobby played the same Bob Marley CD over and over and over. We were told that its the only CD they had. I think they could have spent some money on additional CD's . The live entertainment was good though. Beware of the gifts they offer you. It is really an enticement to get you to buy time shares. They try their best to get you to make a hurried decision using the age old trick " if you dont take ithe deal now, then it wont be available another day. They take your credit card and swipe it before allowing you to see any contract. Be very wary of this. We foolishly made a purchase and regretted it afterwards. Pool - You have to go down early to get a pool chair. Lisez la suite
"Absolutely beautiful Hotel"
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The only area they need to improve is with the towels for the pool/beach. There were five of us staying at the hotel for 4 days, I got one towel on day 3. Other than that no complaints, we definetly plan to visit again.
"not at all what we had planned"
If you are used to something more than a 3 star hotel stay far away from this place. from the drunk tattooed guests to the mediocre food and bad mixed drinks it was really dissapointing. Not to mention no soft sand beach.
"Excellent Hotel"
Food was great, dinner buffet changes everyday. I didn't eat at the restaurants because they were always booked day(s) in advanced and to be honest I didn't care. I didn't go to Jamaica to eat Japanese food. The drinks are good too, you can get any alcoholic drink you want, free of charge (so more than just beer and wine are free). Can't say anything […] bad about the rooms either (the hotel is only a couple years old). If you want a morning pool/beach chair you need to take your towel down before breakfast and reserve one (place it on the chair), they go fast. Everything opens up after lunch though. The shopping mall they tout is bogus, about ten stores all selling the same overpriced tourist stuff. The hotel is located between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay/Negril, so nothing is too close except for Dunns River Falls. Expect to run up a taxi bill if you sight see. You can get better taxi rates on the street rather the hotel front (e.g. Hotel taxi $100 to MBJ, street taxi $60). If you are adventurous, you can get a "bus" (actually are large mini-vans) on the street too, these run just about (100-250 Jamaican, about $1-3 US). Only do this if you are in shape, they drive like maniacs and they cram you in. I got all the to Negril and back for $10US. And I saved this for last: The entire staff at the hotel are nice and very helpful. Lisez la suite
