Hotel charmant, excellent rapport qualité prix, et un personnel parlant francais et tres accueillants... Nous connaissions deja l'italie et quelques hotels italiens, savions que le petit dejeuner n'est pas le point fort la bas, et bien meme ce detail etait gommé dans cet etablissement; le petit dejeuner était delicieux. we had a room giving to the street which was a bit noisy till 1-2 am. otherwise hotel is clean and well located

L'hôtel est très bien placé, à 5 mn de la place Saint Marc et du Rialto. Le personnel est très agréable et efficace. Le petit-déjeuner buffet est copieux. La chambre est très confortable, bien équipée et calme. Hôtel à recommander pour ceux qui veulent une situation centrale.

Cozy but impeccable rooms, convenient to Rialto and San Marco. The desk staff is polyglot and remarkably knowledgeable and friendly. And -- small point -- compared to other Italian hotel breakfasts (although this is our first 4-star) this one is a winner.

Hotel Al Codega was phenomenal and the service exceptional however finding it at night with heavy luggage was very stressful & literally we had to rely on a friendly gondoleer to walk us to the hotel having walked in circles around the dizzying Venice streets. For those who stay I can recommend the following. Take the Vaporetto #1 to Rialto Bridge and […] then proceed only along a predetermined route checked and double checked via google earth or bing maps. We really enjoyed our stay at the Al Codega - once we eventually found it! We had downloaded the hotel's map but we still coudn't find it when we arrived late one night. Eventually we did but there surely must be a better way of showing people how to find it (we used shops as landmarks in the end). Our room was clean - if a little small - and the bathroom […] was spotless. The bar is tiny and only seats a group of about 5/6 at once. We stayed at the Al Codega for two nights in January 2012. It's not the easiest to find but the map from the hotel is accurate - trust it, even when it seems to send you down a tiny alleyway! Once there, you are in for a real treat! The hotel staff are friendly, speak excellent English and are a great source of information. The room was well-furnished, […] clean, spacious (though maybe not quite to American standards of size) and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The buffet Continental breakfast was substantial with lots of choice, including scrambled eggs. The other great thing about Al Codega is the location - its 5 minutes walk from the Railto in one direction and 6-7 minutes from St Marks in another, and 10 minutes to Academia Bridge in another. It's also close to shops and cafes. The best nearby restaurant we found was Bistrot de Venice - its not cheap but nowhere in Venice is! The tourist menu is the best value for less than 50 euro. Ask at hotel reception for directions. We would 100% recommend this hotel and I cant see how the few negative reviews on here were deserved as every aspect of our stay, for the price we paid, was first rate. Lisez la suite

We loved our stay at this hotel. The room was luxurious and clean. The bed was the most comfortable that we had in Europe - and quiet! We opened a window one night for some fresh air and couldn't believe the noise outside! We never heard a sound with the window closed, or from adjacent rooms. There is a computer for guests to use, and a working elevator. […] The breakfast was wonderful - you could stuff yourself if you aren't careful. The concierge was most helpful to us getting around a confusing city and seeing the sights. We stayed two nights, and wanted to stay longer, but our cruise ship would have left without us! Great hotel - awesome location, price, service. Room was very nice and clean - + very quiet. Breakfast very good too. The staff could not have been more helpful - also made great restaurant recommendations.

Great place to stay. Staff very helpfull, friendly, arranged for airport transportation, recommended a good restraunt., and gave us some ideas of where to visit. Hotel clean and updated. Location was perfect between the Realto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. Follow the map from the hotel exactly and you'll be able to find it. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to those visiting Venice. It met and exceeded all of our expectations: clean, comfortable, excellent staff, great location, quite, completely updated, great breakfast, comfortable beds, on and on! Very nice venetian style rooms, the staff are ultra friendly and polite. The rooms are clean and you get free wifi which I found very rare in Venice. It is a little tricky to find , at first, but the Hotel Al Codega is worth looking for! It is in a quiet courtyard so you aren't awakened by the bells of St Marks at 7 a.m. like we were in another hotel we had booked for the same trip... Loved Al Codega. We were 6 in 3 rooms and all enjoyed our stay immensely. It is tough to find but if you can find Armani you're almost there. The map they provide is inadequate and needs more detail. Lugging bags to and from the boats is tiresome. Ask for a porter who knows the hotel's location. Only one negative - went two mornings to procure an early […] cup of coffee to take to my room before getting ready for breakfast and had no problem. On morning three, I was told that it was "Not possible!." It was explained that "The Owner doesn't permit! You must call room service!" OK, I gave up. After all it was all of 50 feet to my room! a very nice hotel in a great location. Although it is in a great location, it is difficult to find when you first arrive to Venice. The water taxi/bus will bring you to Venice and from there it's a short walk to the hotel and despite the hotels map, it was hard to find because the "roads" are not labelled very well, which is not the hotels fault. This beautiful hotel is set in a quiet courtyard, only minutes from St. Mark square and the Rialto bridge. They have a lovely continental breakfast each morning - including amazing bruschetta. We absolutely love this hotel. The only thing is it's very difficult to find. They are tucked away in a little alcove. It is very very quiet and if you want to take the airport bus you can get to that in 5 minutes withoutd crossing any bridges. This was a real treat to stay at. Close to the Rialto Bridge in Venice, it is an easy walk from the water bus landing. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and went out of their way to help us in any way they could.

Excellent hotel near Rialto Bridge and Saint Marks Square. Lovely, charming, good breakfast, clean comfortable room. Don't be put off by the location or the entrance. This was an excellent hotel for the price. The service was excellent. They gave us a great referral for a restaurant. It was conveniently located inbetween St. Marks Square and the Rialto. Unlike most beds in Europe, the beds were comfortable. A bit hard to find however. But what isn't in Venice.

My Husband and I spent 2 nights here. The hotel was charming, the staff delightful and very helpfull. The location is ideal (although a little difficult to find until you get your bearings, much like most of Venice itself) The room was spotless, a very comfortable size and beautifully equipped. The hotel is located about halfway between the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square, the two biggest tourist sites. It has a little better room rate because it is not on the water. From what I had heard and found in other hotel reviews, I was expecting a small, tight room in Venice. My husband ultimately selected this hotel on line and what a surprise. The room was surprisingly roomy, with a separate sitting area and king size bed. Bathroom was a very good size as well. The hotel was very close to everything, it met all our needs, the service was excellent and always rendered with a smile. Interior and exterior has been updated to like-new condition with all the amenities and was spotless. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

The hotel is in a very good location, quiet, which is so important in Venice. Service and cleanliness of the hotel, ambience and facilities are outstanding. But the bed matrases were too soft, and the blankets are cheap polyester, which makes you sweat at nights, inspite of airconditioning. Also, they could improve on breakfast. Brilliant location, 2 minutes from the piazza San Marco and about 5 from the Rialto. Staff very helpful. Helped us plan some things to do. Breakfast was good. No complaints really. Room nice with everything we needed. Definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I had a lovely four day break to Venice. I would class the whole experience 'pricey but nicey'! The Al Codega hotel was in a great location near San Marco's square, but did take us a few minutes to find - but I think most hotels suffer this issue. Great location. Very helpful Service. Close to all the best parts of the island. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the San Marco area of Venice.

We highly enjoyed the Hotel Al Codega in Venice. It can be a bit hard to find, but faces its own small courtyard, so very quiet. Best part is that there are no bridges to cross from the Rialto stop on either the #1 Vaparetto or the Alilaguna. Perfect! Well decorated, good size rooms, very helpful staff.

This is a hotel right in the middle of Venice. Hard to find at first, needs some signs but when you get there, Brand new room, very comfortable, walking distance to San Marco square and Rialto bridge. Small room but very well appointed. New bathroom. I would definitely come back some day

When you are in Venice you need to be bang in the middle, because you are going to walk everywhere. This place is literally 5 mins from Piazza San Marco, and maybe 10 mins from Rialto bridge, less than that from the vaporetti stops. It is quiet, comfortable, clean, friendly, does a good breakfast, and the wifi works. Recommended.

Probably the best hotel overall during our trip throughout Italy. The breakfast was about average, meaning that it is okay for a couple of days, but not more. I need eggs and bacon after a while. The room was very charming, clean, quiet and pretty big for Italian standards.

After reading many reviews on this hotel, I had high expectations. The hotel exceeded all of my expectations. Great front line staff, wonderful rooms, couldn't ask for a better location. I would return to this hotel in a heart beat.

IT is not easy to find superior hotels in "hot destination spots" like Paris or Venice where room also is at a premium. The hotel Al Codega therefore surprised us! What a lovely experience! The hotel was so welcoming from the moment we booked it. They emailed me twice with a map, directions, cost of travel from airport/train stations and distances and things to do and see in Venice. The hotel is located in a little square and we had no problem finding it as the map they emailed on was very detailed. The hotel is in a fantastic location, […] in between St. Mark's square and Rialto Bridge, and located near plenty of water bus stops, so even if you have alot of baggage you will have no problem reaching the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. One male receptionist in particular was really lovely and gave us lots of advice on where to go, where to eat and best place to get a reasonable gondola. The breakfast was really nice and the room was lovely, clean, comfortable and beautifully finished. Exactly what you need after a day wandering around Venice.
