Entre l'hôtel et la plage, il y avait (est-ce temporaire ?) une bande d'algues séchées et à la fois vaseuses qui n'était pas vraiment agréable. C'est un hôtel de plus de 50 chambres. Sinon, l'île est vraiment extra!

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Hotel grounds were beautiful. Staff was very helpful in helping arrange activities (i.e. Whale shark tours and Chichen Itza were the two we did). We got the two meals included, the meals were awesome!! Keep in mind, though you are charged for drinks at meals (nonalcoholic and alcholic) so make sure to budjet for […] this. I discovered Isla Holbox through a travel web site. I had been looking for this destination for about 6 years but it's only this year (last week of November 2011) that we decided to go. All the travelling guides that I had been reading had very good comments about this destination. You should be aware that it's off the beaten path: 2 hours drive from […] Cancun (bus, taxi or transfer) on a country road to a pueblo named Chiquila, then 30 minutes ferry to paradise. Be warned, this place is at the antipodes of destinations like Cancun and the Riviera Maya. The weather was gorgeous: sunshine all the time, daytime around 28C and nightime around 22C, light breeze and water temperature around 28C. The population of around 1200 is very friendly. It is a safe environment. The pueblo is colorfull, the beach is unequalled. There are several good restaurants in the village: fish and seafood are a must. About Villa Paraiso del Mar, I discovered this hotel through Expedia and we were very satisfied. It is a small Spanish hotel chain (they have 4 hotels in Mallorca and this one in Holbox). They organized my transfer from Cancun. The staff at check-in was friendly and efficient. Our unit was very charming and of good size. Only reproach is that water pressure in the shower was weak. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the common areas well kept. We had the breakfast plan: it is a breakfast buffet with a good variety and with some dishes changing every day. This hotel is one of the best I've ever stayed at. The all inclusive package is definitely worth the price; the food is excellent and the bartenders very generous. The times I needed assistance from the front desk, they were very helpful, resolving things quickly and satisfactorily. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this hotel in the 4th of july weekend. The clerck at the lobby had a horrible attitude, he was rude when i asked for a couple of things. The lock of the bathroom window was broken i asked him to fixed it and noting happened. The second day of our stay the maid forgot to leave a hands towel. We had a fantastic time at the hotel. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is very laid back with a very good breakfast buffet. Beautiful small resort. Amazing tropical garden, nice little swimming pool, small cafeteria with hangout areas. Expedia only allowed me to book Junior Suites. Each building is three story except Master suites. These buildings have only one unit in each floor. The 1st floor has a patio area with hammock and chairs. The 2nd floor (where we stayed) has […] a balcony with chairs. Depending on the room, you have a peek of ocean view. The beach is right in front of the hotel, very accessible. The thrid floor doesn't seem to have balcony. Master suite has its own building. It's two story. Two bathrooms, and there is an indoor jaccuzzi tab with beach view. Down stair is a living room with two couches (each can be a twin size bed.) Food is always buffet style. Quality was not excellent but decent. Friendly staff. There is no much of privacy if you're not in Master suite. We were able to hear guests above us. We're glad we didn't bring our daughter for this trip .... Isla Holbox är en jättehärlig ö och detta var verkligen ett hotell som var perfekt för vår vistelse på ön. Hotellet ligger lite utanför själva byn så söker man lugn är detta rätt ställe. Rummen var stora och bra. Många gäster hade all inclusive vilket vi valde bort då vi ville äta på olika restauranger istället. Kändes som helt rätt val för oss! Ubicación: Para ir al pueblo debes caminar un poco unos 800 mts. aprox. La playa virgen queda como a 1 km. Así que quedas justo en medio. Playa: Muy sucia, y esta un poco alejado e mar del hotel, falta poner camastros cerca o a la orilla del mar. Otros si lo hacen. De noche falta encender alguna luz en los camastros por si quieres estar en la playa. […] Otros: Si no tienes todo incluido debes pagar costos excesivos por todo, por ejemplo una renta de bicicleta te cuesta $60 pesos la hora, si caminas un poco al centro te las rentan por solo $10 pesos la hora. Y si tienes todo incluido no incluye snacks. Y en general Holbox es muy caro en general. Recomendación: Plan solo desayuno y prueben los restaurantes de la zona, no olviden probar la pizza de langosta, y el coctel de camarón. Renten bicicletas y carros de golf ($100 la hora) en el centro así como los tours son mucho mas económicos. No olviden visitar el muelle y la playa virgen que se encuentra al final justo después del hotel las nubes, pueden llegar en bicicleta facilmente. El hotel en general esta hermoso (Para mi gusto vi varios y son de los mejores cuartos y diseño del hotel) Los caminos de arena, los cuartos muy cómodos, muchos camastros, buen mantenimiento, la alberca limpia y buen diseño y la gente muy amable y atenta, sobretodo en recepción. Solo cuiden los consumos del mini bar, pueden agregarte algo que no consumiste, yo me di cuenta y no me hicieron el cargo. Lisez la suite

Nosotros teníamos un paquete todo incluido. El hotel es muy bonito, sin embargo descuidan la atención al cliente, el servicio es básico y deberían esforzarse más (a excepción del mesero Edgar que siempre fue muy amable), el personal jamás se acerca a la alberca y menos a la playa. Nunca nos ofrecieron opciones de tours, ni de transporte, ni de actividades, […] y los contratamos por fuera por amigos que nos contemplaron. Tal vez un carrito podría una o dos veces al día acercarte al pueblo (aunque lo cobren), de que prestaban las bicis me enteré porque lo leí en los comentarios sobre el hotel que otras personas habían mencionado en internet, y ojalá en el check out te asesoraran un poco sobre el regreso a Chiquila ya que el ferry es cada hora, pero los camiones no.. en fin interesarse en que la llegada, la estancia y el regreso sea lo más satisfactorio posible. Pudimos comparar la atención con otros hoteles donde algunos amigos se hospedaron y la atención que recibieron del personal si era sobresaliente a la de nuestro hotel. Deberían acercarse más al cliente, hacerlo sentir en casa. Holbox, la isla, es un paraíso. Lisez la suite

El hotel esta muy bonito y es un lugar ideal para ir con la familia o en una escapada romantica. El personal es amable sin embargo seria ideal que dieran esa milla extra. En nuestro caso queriamos quedarnos una noche mas y lamentablemente solo se limitaron a decirnos que estaban esperando estar llenos esa noche. Vi var på hotellet en vecka i slutet av maj. Trots att det var helmulet i Cancun på fastlandet var det klart i stort sett hela veckan på ön Isla Holbox där hotellet ligger. Hotellet var fantastiskt, mycket smakfullt inrett och med massor av växter vilket gjorde att man fick något av en djungelkänsla. Rummen var stora och fina med all utrustning man […] kan önska sig. Härligt strandläge med massor av solstolar som räckte gott o väl till alla. Mycket tyst och stillsamt, perfekt ställe för återhämtning. Maten var bra. God frukostbuffe med exotiska frukter och en kock som tillagade äggen som du ville ha dem. Lunch- och middagsbuffe, alltid med en kock som tillagade en pastarätt samt en kött- och en fiskrätt. Mycket gott. Saknade dock färsk frukt på lunch- och middagsbuffen. Perfekt att det ingick att låna cyklar och kajak i all inclusive-paketet. En dag då vi var ute och paddlade dök två delfiner upp bredvid kajaken och en pelikan flög precis över våra huvuden. Vi tittade oss runt på ön flera gånger men såg inget hotell som ens var i närheten av att vara lika bra som vårt. Ju längre jag var där ju mer tyckte jag om det. Jättegullig personal även om servicenivån inte var på topp hela tiden. Åk dit! Man tar enkelt en taxi fr flygplatsen till orten Chiquila, orten varifrån båten går till Isla Holbox. Våra två veckor i slutet av januari var helt magiska. För de resenärer som önskar bo på ett ställe där lugnet råder och sol, bad och en hög mysfaktor önskas - kan inte ha det bättre än här! Wir hatten eine super Zeit in diesem Hotel.Leider nur 3 übernachtungen. Sehr schönes Komplex mit Bungalow in mexik.Stil. Direkt am strand. Super zustand, sauberkeit und Dekos.Sehr feines essen. Fräsch, mysigt och snyggt hotell precis intill stranden. Dock ett all inclusive hotell med allt vad det innebär buffé etc. Om man inte är ute efter all inclusive så får man gå in till byn för lunch, middag vilket iof var väldigt trevligt, flera väldigt bra restauranger. Fisk och skaldjur rekommenderas såklart! Byn ligger nära ca.5-10min promenad och […] det går att gå längs stranden. Una buena opcion para pasar unos dias relajados en la preciosa isla de holbox

Jamás regresaría. Durante mi estancia el teléfono de la habitación nunca funcionó. Así mismo, el WC tenía problemas para desalojar toda el agua a la hora de la descarga. Cuando reporté esto a la recepción me respondieron con un seco "Ajá, sí, es que están reparando el sistema y algunos teléfonos no funcionan". Las habitaciones nunca se pueden mantener […] limpias porque el piso de los pasillos es de tierra, y a la hora de entrar siempre se ensucia. Cuando te reciben en la recepción, en lugar de darte la mejor de las bienvenidas, para lo que se supone será una experiencia inolvidable en el paraíso; lo primero que hacen es sacarte toda la lista de cuotas y multas en las que incurrirás por la pérdida de toallas, llaves, etc. Cuando es lo que menos quieres escuchar en ese momento. Especialmente la Srtia Jazmín, tengan cuidado con que ella no los reciba. A mí me sacaron unas cuentas alegres y tuve que pagar por mi niña de seis años el 50% de la tarifa de habitación por noche que había conseguido en internet. Y como ya estás ahí, en medio de la nada, a seis horas de Cancún o Mérida, no puedes hacer nada y te tienes que aguantar. Si quieres conocer Holbox, quedarte en un hotel toco incluido no es la mejor opción. Sobre todo, porque las instalaciones distan mucho de lo que un hotel de Gran Turismo te costaría en algún otro lugar, en donde sí valdría la pena encerrarte todo el día.
