"hotel KAPOC a PEKIN"

"nice contempory hotel with great location"
great hotel with beautifully designed room. just the water pressure is not enough on the 6th floor for rain shower to work properly. overall a decent hotel.
Not a fancy hotel, the location was excellent
"modern hotel within walking distance to Wanfujing"
We were very happy with our stay. The rooms were well-appointed, with free in-room WiFi. Amenities like slippers, bathrobes, toiletries provided were of good quality. The staffs were very friendly and very eager to help with flagging down taxis, giving directions, making restaurant recommendations. The location is great, around 15 minutes' walk to Wangfujing […] and we even walked to Tian'anmen square which took us around 25 minutes. We stayed here for 5 nights in April, took a side-trip to Xian for 3 days and came back here to stay for our last night in Beijing before flying back home, they also let us store some of our suitcases during those few days free of charge. Would definitely stay here again! Lisez la suite
"Great Location"
This hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable. In a great location, very close to a lot of main sights (Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing St). Highly recommended.
"Great location"
Great location & nice hotel. However, make sure you check your bill before you left. They will simply charge you drinks that you didn't consume & not allowed replacement. Soft drinks are expired too. Bed is hard. Other than that we are quite happy.

"Lovely Hotel"
Stayed 5 nights from 17th - 22nd March 2012. Booked 3 courtyard rooms but only 1 was available due to late check in. They upgraded the other 2 rooms at no extra cost. Rooms were clean & well kept. Staffs were polite, friendly & helpful too. Subway across the road. Good location. 15 mins walk to train station. Will be back again and definitely recommend […] friends to stay. Lisez la suite
"Sightseeing in Beijing"
When we arrived at the hotel we could not check in due to a problem with the electricity ?!. The hotel staff took us to a neighbooring hotel for the first night. Once back at the Kapok we could not check in since the room wasn't empty. This doesnt' make sense and I belive that the hotel was overbooked and that they blamed the electricity. If we ignore […] the problem above the hotel was nice a nd the location was great. Lisez la suite
"Budget hotel in central location"
This is definitely only a 2.5 to 3 stars hOtel. It's 5-6 min walk to Wangfujing shopping area. The room do not provide basic items like box tissue nor complimentary coffee tea! At this Price we would expect such basic items. Rooms are quiet but really small. The room we stay has NO toilet door, only a curtain! The front desk MALE staff are really helpful […] but the females ones are unfriendly n not helpful. Most taxi driver don't know the hotel :( and the breakfast is not worth the try. Lisez la suite
"Great hotel in great location"
My wife & I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, & could not be happier. The hotel is situated within sight of the Forbidden city only 300 metres, close to old world China as well as modern. The service was spot on, our 3rd floor room was serviced daily & replacement of utilities always. However watch the price of bar items. A surprise complimentary […] birthday cake arrived in our room for my 65th birthday. Including quality chocolate, the little things count. Be aware though of art dealer who targets any western passer by, near the hotel, very nice but is after custom. A very good tour agency is also on the same side of the street towards the Forbidden city. Likewise an excellent tea shop directly opposite. Cheaper than private car offers that can be promoted, would advise to check around as there are several tour shops nearby before commiting to any offers. Should we ever go to Bejing again, we would not hesitate to use Hotel Kapok. Lisez la suite
"Not Kapok, but Hovel Hotel"
We had reservations @ Kapok Hotel, but there was some problem with a floor of their roomms and they brought us to a 5 star hotel. What we saw of the Kapok seemed very, very nice. there are men to help with luggage the instant you pull up. I was assured of western toilets, which was very imp to me. The manager of Kapok was extremely sorry for the problem […] and did all he could to make sure we were settled and comfortable. We were impressed. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Kapok Beijing"
Great value hotel! Will definently stay here again. However I did find the absence of seating in the lobby strange and the beds were a little too hard. Overall a brilliant hotel in a fantastic location for turisim and business.
"Comfortable and clean hotel"
Value for money, staff are polite and helpful. Hotel for clean and comfortable.
"Hotel Kapok Wangfujing, Beijing, very nice"
We stayed in January 2012, the hotel was really close to the forbidden city etc, and close to some nice restaurants etc. Friendly staff, nothing to fault really.
"Hotel Kapok"
Hotel Kapok is very close to Tiananmen square and Wangfujing shopping street. Walking to a subway station(ether Tianamen east or Wangfujing station, both on the line 1) takes about 10minutes. Rooms were modern and clean. Hotel staff can arrange tours and the staff speaks quite good English. Convenience store right next to the hotel, Subway fastfoodchain […] has a shop right opposite to the hotel. Did not eat breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on it. However, because my reservation did not include breakfast, I had to pay a deposit when I checked in. The deposit was returned when I checked out. Overall I would definately recommend this hotel. "Hotel Kapok - Superb stay"
We stayed in this hotel for 3 days in early February. The hotel's location is very close to all major stores and upmarket department stores. It's a 10 minute walk to the nearest MRT and close to the food/night market at Wangfujing. The hotel staff are exceptional. We were pleasantly surprised by their attentiveness and good command of English.
"Hotel Kapok - "ground zero", in a good way"
The Hotel Kapok is a very good value for the price and benefits from an outstanding location -- walking distance from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Bei Hei Park, among others. Staff was very friendly and most spoke passable English. Some of the furnishings were showing a little bit of wear and tear, but nothing too bad. If you're budget-concious, […] Hotel Kapok is highly recommended. Lisez la suite
"Close to Wangfujing and free wi-fi"
Pros: - close to the Wangfujing shopping area (within walking distance) - room was clean - seemed like most of the staff spoke English, and their English was pretty good - doesn't smell like smoke everywhere - working safe in the room - free wi-fi throughout the hotel and in your room Cons: - although there is a subway station relatively close by, […] it does take about 15-20 minutes to walk there - the bathroom was fine, but looked like it could be a bit cleaner - only one English language tv station, which was the Chinese state tv station in English - I used the body lotion provided by the hotel, but it gave me a rash Lisez la suite
"5 Very Cold Nights in Kapok!"
Having read all the hype about this so called luxury hotel near Wanfijing, I booked two rooms for 5 nights for my family last week in Beijing. I have to admit I was rather disppointed to say the least and cannot undersatnd why this hotel is so highly rated! I have a few gripes. Firstly our room is a courtyard room which means there was a lot of glass […] areas and the heating system was appalling and we had to sleep every night with our socks on! The breakfast quite expensive by chinese standards was also very disappointing especially after 0900 when there was hardly any food left and they don't replenish. To add insult, whilst I was checking out in the reception, the girl asked me if we have used the mini bar and we don't as it was day light robbery. She used a walkie talkie and summoned house keeping ( in chinese) to do an urgent inspection of the rooms. I coldn't speak the language fluently but I can understand what was said. After I paid the final bill, it was reported that one of son has actually used a small Nescafe coffee sachet which must be paid for at 26CNY. I told her proper hotels don't usally charge for such a small item besides it was not listed on the mini bar price list! Well, not wanting to end up in a chinese jail, I paid up - Would I stay here again, hell no, I rather be on the streets thanks! Lisez la suite

"Hotel Kapok Wangfujing in Beijing"
Excellent hotel, very serviceminded staff, good service and excellent breakfast! The hotel are situated in central Beijing with walking distance from Wangfujing street.
"Hotel Kapok"
Hotel staff was friendly and clean. However, it was 10 min walking distance from the major shopping centre. The hotel also located off the main road which you need to tell the driver very clearly the location.
"Perfect spot in Beijing"
We loved this hotel. It's walking distance to the Forbidden City and the Wangfujing Night Market. The staff was friendly and spoke a little English. The Fashion Suite was spacious and well appointed. Always easy to get a taxi in front, and the surrounding area filled with nice cafes and shops. Great buffet breakfast as well!
"Kapok is so conveniently located"
Loved Kapok! The location was very strategic, walking distance to shopping area and the forbidden city. A bit far to catch the train but with beautiful things to see, you won't mind it. Unless you have been walking the whole day like we did. We went out of the hotel at 8am every morning for our exploration and got back to the hotel at around 12am. So […] after walking for 14 hours a day, everything would seem far. the staff there were all very friendly, which was nice. The bed was hard but i like hard beds so it didnt matter to me. Each of us had like 2-3 pillows each which was great. we booked the courtyard but our courtyard wasn't that great. It was very dull and was surprised that the courtyard is shared by two rooms. Ours had like a net separating the courtyard. anyone would have just came across to our room from the other side. Our courtyard was facing the outside. We saw some other courtyards which looked way better. But realized that it was better that the other ones facing the inside. Although it looked a lot nicer, you feel like your are in like a panda enclosure. While hanging out there, people walking to their rooms can have a view of you through the glass panels. And people could also see right through into half of your room. Didn't get to enjoy the facilities as we were busy exploring Beijing. I read on a blog that the food across the street is yummy. I think he/she misspelled it. It was yucky and expensive for what you are getting. Well, food in Beijing during winter in general are all submerged in oil. It is pretty gross. I would recommend going to more decent restaurants than the smaller ones for better food, and they don't really cost that much more. Overall, it is a great city. Hotel was great and value for money. "Excellent surprise"
I stayed for 3 nights and I was really surprised with the quality. I read the previous reviews and I totally agree with most of them. The hotel is very good. "Hotel Kapok = the friendliest staff you could find"
we've stayed a Fashion Suite, the room space, furniture, equipment, en-suite, cleanliness, and views (especially when it snowed during our last day) were fantastic, early check-in was very much appreciated, if you are coming to Beijing for leisure, shopping, and sightseeing then Hotel Kapok is THE location to stay, it’s about the most central you could […] get in Beijing with affordable cost and not much city noise, 5-10 minutes’ walk to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen square, shopping malls, train stations, restaurants (best Beijing Peking Duck is just 10 minutes’ walk) etc. but best of all is the friendly & helpful staff whether behind the help desk, room service, the restaurant, or the tour advisers, they all made our 5 nights stay in Beijing a good memory, looking forward to come again. Just one minor point, the place is a smoke free but in two nights, during dinner time, there were one person that appeared to be a ‘VIP’ who ignored all rules and started smoking in the restaurant while dinner was being served, but that could have been a person issue rather than a hotel issue. "Great Location But Thats It!"
The location is great, but thats it. The service was terribley slow. The restaurant has the worst food of anywhere i have ever stayed, and the service could not have been slower if they tried. Checking out was awful , there was only one person who was taking care of one person in front of me for 15 minutes. When he finally finished asked me to wait […] and i finally said no and that he was going to check me out. speed does not matter at this hotel. The interent is nonexistent or very sparse at best, and as soon as you do get a good connection it continually disconnects and you have to try and start all over again. i dont think i finished a single email all three days. it is very overrated and other than location the services are non existent Lisez la suite
The location was good for sight-seeing. The room was quiet and very spacious but had no window to tell us whether it's raining or the sun is shining. The hallways are dingy looking but our room seemed to be up-graded with a good/modern bathroom. The complimentary bathroom supplies were appreciated, so was the free WiFi and/or wire connection. Supplied […] robes and bath shoes are nice. Very nice linen on the beds. We reported a problem with the glass shower door and it was attended to immediately, offering us another room (which we declined since we only stayed one further night). Front desk staff was very friendly and a lady with good English knowledge was at hand. Overall a good experience. Lisez la suite
Hotel had a very modern look and feel to it. Great loaction. Within walking distance to the Forbidden City and the Night Market. Hotel Staff very friendly and helpful. Helped us translate our addresses from English to Chinese. Even called up the places to see if they were open. The only thing was that the free Wifi was very slow in rooms. But since […] I was not there for business, it was enough for me to send emails etc. Better Wifi in the lobby though. Lisez la suite
"Very good choice"
We spent 5 nights at Hotel Kapok in late October. We had reserved a Courtyard room but were upgraded to a Kapok suite, which is a larger room with a sitting area. The room was very large and very clean; the bed was firm, but not hard (we prefer firm beds and found the bed comfortable; someone who likes a soft mattress may have had a different opinion). There […] is a computer in the room with access to Internet. There is wifi in the lobby. Both accesses to Internet are free. Hotel Kapok has an excellent location : about 5 minutes walk to the east gate of the Forbidden City and 5 minutes walk to the Wanfujing night market (we did not sample the scorpion kebabs, but it’s interesting to see). The shopping district is nearby. The subway station is a 10 to 15 minute walk (the subway is clean, safe and easy to navigate). Personnel was helpful, even though we did not need them very much, as Beijing is quite easy to visit independently. We took a cab from the airport, but returned to the airport through the express train. It was very convenient and fast. If you have lots of luggage, it would be a good idea to insist that the cab driver leaves you close to the entrance to the elevators (ours did not, but we had only carry-on size bags). There are many restaurants nearby (some directly in front of the hotel). For a more upscale eatery, at a short walking distance, try Sijiminfu, on Dengshikou West Street. We ate there twice; the food was excellent, particularly a spicy fish dish whose name I cannot remember. The Beijing duck was also very good (in our experience, better than the one at Made in China).
