"Nice place to stay when visiting"
It's a nice place to stay when visiting Xi'an. location is just right in the centre of the city, nearby the bell tower and all the tourist places. A lot of restaurants around.

"Fantastic Hotel"
The room was huge, great and clean. The location is perfect. The staff are helpful and speak good Enlgish. The best hotel we had during our China trip.
"Citadines"
The hotel is very close to the airport bus stop (Melody Hotel). Our family of four therefore do not need to take a couple of taxies like in Beijing and can stay together with all our luggages while traveling from the Xi'an airport to Citadines. The room is modernly decorated and very quiet. The breakfast was adequate for its price. The hotel is near […] the center of the city and close to Bell and Drum tower. In walking distance, one can reach many types of authentic eateries and flea market. Lisez la suite
"Great Location"
This hotel is located in the heart of the city of Xi An. The airport bus stop is just around the corner. Very convenient.

"Hotel Citadines in Xian - close to all sights"
This hotel was a suprise to us. It is not on one of the main streets but just off one. It is very close to the Bell Tower. It is modern and well maintained. The rooms are like apartments so you have a small kitcken to cook meals and a fridge ( great). It is close to many resturants and fast food outlets. Overall a good experience and we will use again […] - on our regular visits to Xian Lisez la suite
"Good location but not enough"
Room felt dated. Carpet was marked. Bed felt "thin". Breakfast was horrible even if complimentary. They only give you one voucher, even if two occupants. Don't even waste time on voucher.

"Central Location, great service & has a homey feel"
I chose this hotel because of its central location: right behind Melody hotel where the airport bus drop off point; and right next to the city central landmark-- The Bell & Drum tower. Right behind the drum tower is the Must see Muslim street which packed with street food and Souvenir vendors. The hotel exceeded all my expectations: it's clean, well […] maintained and has a homey feeling. The room itself also equipped with microwave, cooking stove & utensils ect. We booked a studio room which is more than spacious. To me the highlight of the room is the sliding TV, you can move it easily from the living room to the bedroom to suit your convenience. You can use the self serve launderette at LV3 and it will cost you about 20 yuan each load. There are also gym, restaurant and internet in the lobby. And you can access WIFI through ur room. Strangely we were only provided 1 breakfast for 2 guests and to be honest I rather skip their breakfast. Except that I am very satisfied with the hotel and will definitely go back if we got a chance to revisit the beautiful capital city. Must see attractions will definitely be the Terra cotta army and the history museum which closed every Monday and please be prepared to queue for a free entry ticket; and the Muslim street. "Citadines Xi'an Central - bring earplugs"
Do not pay for the breakfast it is stale and there is not much choice. plenty of other places to get something nearby. There was building work ongoing on the building opposite, it is being constructed so I dont see that it will be finished anytime soon. this works continued through the night until 4am, we were not warned of this. Location is perfect […] but the staff are not friendly, they would not even help us to get a taxi. Lisez la suite
Overall the sta was very pleasant. Would have been better if two breakfast was provided ... even tho we booked for 2 to a room, only one breakfast was provided Hotel very conveniently located and easily accessible from airport

"Nice hotel, non-smoking"
Very nice sevice and clean room. very roomy. love the fact that it is a non-smoking hotel. Very helpful front desk. Only thing is not good is that the shower curtain smells. It needs to be changed.
"Citadines Xi An"
The Citadines was a clean and spacious hotel. It was located in walking distance to popular sights such as the bell tower and Muslim quarter. You could also walk to nearby shopping and dining streets. Most staff were friendly, though we had difficulty with one being rude, moody and unwilling to help us get a taxi on departure.
"good choice in Xian"
For the price, one of the best places I stayed in China. Clean, convenient and friendly staff. Dan (seattle, wa).
"Good Value for price with great location"
Excellent location within a stone's throw from the drum tower, bell tower and Muslim Quarter.. Easy access to and from airport by taxi or airport bus which stops 200 m away at the Melody Hotel. Staff helpful in arranging car and driver for touring.
Excellent location and rooms in good condition. 1st 2 nights had a studio with TV, DVD. Last night transferred to Deluxe appt - but no DVD! Reception staff were helpful, but had problem with key - had to have it re-set 5 times before it would work. Bit of renovation/maitenance work going on, but tidy otherwise. Don't recomend doing the Warriors tour […] from concierge - tour guide was not great and got upset when we did not tip. (lunch provided was not edible). Location is the key factor, and rooms are comfortable. Lisez la suite
"Citadines Xian - Nice hotel, but Hard to find"
Hotel location is not bad, but no one knew where it was. Our cab driver actually kicked us out of his cab because he was frustrated that he couldn't find it. We ended up wandering around Xian with all of our luggage for an hour trying to find the hotel. The hotel itself was nice. It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is an apartment style hotel, […] so there was laundry in the facility which came in handy. There is a small kitchen and couch area. If you stay here make sure to have a phone number for the hotel and good directions how to get there. Otherwise, it was a nice stay. Lisez la suite
"Best for the price and location!"
I was in China for a short time and stayed at 5 hotels, by far the Citadines was the best for location to sites in the city, price and a well equipped kitchenette. It's unfortunate that I was unable to take better advantage of it. Xian was the great city, less frenetic than the others I visited in China. The only complaint was the tub drain. I was told […] at the end to push it down to pop the drain up. Check w/the staff on this but otherwise my room was clean and large (studio) and the cheapest of all I stayed at in China. A definite keeper. Lisez la suite

"Amenities are lacking...but Xian is beautiful!"
The location is great! Near bell and drum tower, Muslim street (great bargaining spot) and a pretty nice mall just a block or two away. Hotel is in need of some updates but overall Id give it 2.5 stars. However, the bed are terribly hard. And whatever you dont dont eat the "free breakfast" just trust me its horrible at best. Theres a McDonalds down […] the street. And if you need a good tour guide ask for Hans. He'll take you to all the best spots in Xian. Great guy! And dont bother going to the Banpo Museum or the Terracotta replica factory waste of time. Spend your day in 2 places. The Summer Palace and the Terracotta museum and ruins. Outstanding!! And if you're a student bring your ID its half off everywhere with ID. Lisez la suite
"Vacation trip July 2011"
After being delayed from Chengdu airport to Xi'An, the last thing I wanted was a long trek to the hotel at the other end, however after using the local bus service from Xi'An airport to Xi'An city, it only left us a 5 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel front door, very handy location for transport to airport. Upon arrival the friendly, English […] speaking staff, checked us in without any hassle and our room, which featured a small kitchen, was very clean and comfortable. The only thing was that the bed was "firm" to say the least! My girlfriend loved it, but I had 2-3 days of niggling neck ache because of it. The streets surrounding the hotel are narrow, but still get a fair volume of noisy Chinese traffic going by, including loud motorcycles with eager riders! On our first night here, one of our neighbours on the same floor had a very loud, very aggressive, very Chinese domestic row. They were shouting, crying, slamming doors and stomping up and down the corridoor from 5am - 6am!!! I called the hotel reception about 5 minutes into the row and explained the problem with the noise. The man on reception said that maybe they were just having a domestic? No kidding, I said, but it's disturbing me and it's very early in the morning! His reply was, "Okay, I will let the day shift know about it" So I explained again that this was not acceptable and I wanted something done. Well as i said the row finally ended at about 6am and nobody from the hotel got involved! Very disappointing indeed. The hotel does not have it's own resturant, but a local resturant seems to be joined on the ground floor, although it is run entirely independantly. There is a small amount of food recognisable to Westerners, but not much and definately NOT worth the money they charge for it. When I asked for orange juice with no ice, because their tap water is not safe, I got a glass of juice that had been microwaved? Clearly the staff here don't understand English or know much about what we eat. My Lisez la suite
"More a condo than a hotel"
For a longer-term stay, it might be good. as a hotel, it is just OK. Our two-bedroom apartment was certainly more than we needed for a two night hotel stay, and the fixtures were OK. Our room smelled musty from being empty and uncooled for a while before we arrived. The mustiness went away after a few hours, but then we got a septic tank smell from […] a dried-out drain trap. The maintenance crew were prompt in working on the problem, and the smell went away in another few hours. I believe there are probably better hotels for the money if you don't need a large apartment. "Suited our needs"
the Citadines was easy to find thanks to bus 1 from the airport which stopped at the Melody Hotel. You just walked back to the first street corner, looked left and you could see the Citadine logo on top of the hotel to act as a beacon. It is very well located, spotlessly clean, convenient to the historic area, and quiet. No it is not a luxury hotel […] , but then you aren' t paying $400. a night for a place to sleep either. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast hit or miss, staff very helpful and you are within walking distance of restaurants and historic / tourist attractions. You can easily find a way to the terracotta warriorsor do as some others suggested and take a bus if you have the time. We enjoyed our stay, felt safe and were very comfprtable. Lisez la suite
"Citadines"
Very close to the centre of Xi'an and the Bell tower. Nice and clean and comfortable. Reception staff all speak English. Nice to have a little attached kitchenette too. Dont whatever you do follow the map attached to this website for this hotel as you will end up a kilometre away from where the hotel actually is.
"xian citadines central"
this hotel was in a prime location easy walking to the central tourist attractions in the city center . friendly staff very clean very good ! free internet coffee and tea !
"Great Location, Great Value....However...."
Just spent two days in Xi'an with an overnight at the Citadines Central. Check in process involved seven people and took a half an hour but generally staff was very helpful. The hotel has an excellent location and rooms are a great value. However the hotel has fallen into disrepair. There were stains and towels on the floorway, the entire place had […] a tired and worn feel and we had a mouse sharing our room. Could be a gem with a major renovation and cleaning. Lisez la suite
"Citadines Xi An Central, Xi'an, China"
The hotel was great--spacious, clean, comfortable and in a terrific location for exploring the center of the city. We would recommend it to anyone visiting Xi'an.
"Citadines Xi'an - great english speaking staff"
We went to Xi'an for two days mainly to see the Terracotta Warriors. The staff at the reception of the Citadines spoke good english and was very helpful! I recommend this hotel to everyone who does not speak chinese and wants good value for money.
"Good value. Be ready for hard bed though"
Was overall satisfied with are stay. Good service. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bell men are great. The location is good and bad. You can walk to the square and forbidden city, those sites are kinda a must see but both suck. The bad side of location are that there are not to many reastraunts in the neighborhood. The buffet is ok, but gets old fast. […] We did discover some really good reastraunts if you walk the opposite way from the square and forbidden city. There is a mall there with Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC. We found a great japanese place on the corner there. We ate there twice and wish we found it earlier. It was clean and delicious. There is also an amazing bakery on the walk back It is called Medome. It is a must for snackes back in the room. If you need the best legit massage you will ever have in your life. Around the corner from the Mc Donalds in the same mall you will find it. For about 60 dollars American you can get a 90 minute full body oil massage totally legit, great for him or her. My girl friend and I had one in the same room. China was a great place to visit. My top tips. Negotiate everything if they ask 100 you offer 10 and walk away. They will hound you down and you will get it for 10 or 15. Everybody haggles. Get a good map of the subway. Super cheap and easy to navigate. The front dest will tell you which line to go on. This is the best way to get to the summer palace. The taxis are also super cheap. You MUST have them use the meter, you don't have to haggle and you will amazed how cheap it is. Have a great trip. "Excellent location"
The room is spacious and comfortable whle the reception area is tiny. The Singapore/Malaysian resturant where breakfast is served is below average; I could see that a number of customers who came to eat breakfast left after a few minutes apparently unhappy with the food.
"Wrong location indicated on map"
The map posted on hotels.com is wrong. It sent us to wrong location that even got taxi driver and police station personnels scratching their heads! Make sure you get Chinese name of hotel and street before getting there. Other than that, the hotel is great value.
"Citadines Xi An Central"
Perfect location at the city center. Excellent value for the money. Helpful staff. Rooms were decent; not dirty nor brand new. Fit a family of four (two small kids) comfortably in the studio room (with fold-out sofa bed). Kitchenette was useful.
"Near all the action and inexpensive"
I'm generally very satisfied with this place. It is right in the middle of the old part of the city and was very reasonable. I had a suite with a mini kitchen and a small couch. Breakfast wasn't great, but came with the room rate.
"great, clean and comfortable hotel"
cannot be any better! great location, spotlessly clean and comfortable. convenient and walking distance to local daily needs. hotel could be more generous with breakfast. muslim quarters was round the corner - a must visit.
"Very helpful front desk staff"
The front desk staff was very help (one person in particular). Helped us find places and get Taxis. If you want to hire a car for the day the hotel can organise one. However these hire car drivers will take to places that you don't want to go like souvenior terracotta warrior factories eventhogh you tell them otherwise. You will have to be firm and […] tell them that you will not pay them if they don't stick to the agenda. Lisez la suite

"Nice Hotel"
This hotel has a great location. Like a 5 min walk to south gate. Somethings in the room were newer, but not everything. They only gave us 2 big towels and one hand towel. I had to get more towels though.. that is not enough for me. Each room has a fridge, so that was great! There is also a stove and microwave and all the cooking utencils and plates […] etc... There are many restaurants around the hotel and many american restaurants in walking distance. The traffic was CRAZY in this city, along with the pollution and dusty wind storms, but the terracotta warriors made it worth it! If I ever go back, I would stay outside of the city. Its a little less developed than other Chinese cities. FYI. But never the less great food here. Lisez la suite
"Citadines Apartment Hotel"
Excellent location. Spacious rooms. Very nice staff too. The restaurant serves good food. Giving guests only one breakfast voucher causes confusion. I would suggest offering two breakfasts even if it means raising the room rate by 35yuan.
"Location, Location, Drum Tower!"
With traffic being a problem, it's great being a block a way from the Drum Tower which is the center of the old city. You will want to walk through the Muslim corridor on the street north of the Drum Tower. At night, the area comes alive with many great outdoor snack vendors. Hang a left (west) on a smaller street just a ways up and there are even more […] vendors selling food and local stuff. Besides location, the Citadines has very comfortable and clean rooms. Take the Airport Shuttle that stops at the Melody Hotel and you are a quick five minute walk to the hotel. Lisez la suite
"Great location"
The location for this hotel was excellent. It was right across the street from the Muslim district (great markets that you can barter at) and just down the street from both the bell tower and the drum tower. There was also lots of places to eat within walking distance and lots of regular shopping including a huge mall. Furthermore, for all those who […] love their Starbucks or collect Starbucks mugs from each city visited, there are also two within walking distance. If you like having your own driver to take you places ask the hotel for Peter as he is a driver that will take you to see the Terra Cotta Warriors, Banpo Museum, the factory where they build replica warriors, and the wall for a reasonable price. He speaks good English and is very nice. The hotel should know who is he is. The hotel staff were very friendly and most could speak English. Lisez la suite
"Citadine Hotel in Xian, China"
nice hotel, nothing fancy, well located, VERY friendly staff, nice art, very retro, adequate work-out room, clean rooms.
"Good location, attractive price"
We are a family of 5. Booked 2 rooms in the hotel for one night and were pleasantly surprised as we got more than we expected for the price. Breakfast was not included. We checked it out and found it to be too pricey for what they give. There are plently places to eat within a walking distance.
"Great location in the heart of the city"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. The hotel is down the street from the bell and drum tower. From the airport you can take the shuttle bus for 25 yuan per person on line 1 right to the Melody Hotel. From the Melody Hotel, it’s about 2-3 minute walk to the Citadines. When you get off the bus walk in the opposite direction of where the […] bus dropped you off and Zubashi road will be on your first left. Just look up and you should be able to see the Citadines sign on top of the hotel. We had a studio room in the hotel. The beds are firm like most beds in China but that didn’t bother me at all as that’s what I prefer. You get free broadband internet in the room and there is free wi-fi in the lobby along with two free computer terminals. Breakfast was only included for one in the room rate even though we had two in the room. The breakfast is served at restaurant downstairs. The breakfast isn’t as bad as some reviewers have put it. If you’re used to Asian style breakfasts you’re fine. If you aren’t you will still be able to find something you like. If you don’t have breakfast with your room rate, there are tons of street vendors across the street in the morning selling various Chinese pastries. The vendors are absolutely packed in the mornings so you can be pretty sure that the food is fresh. Also, down the street from the hotel towards the Bell Tower there is a huge shopping center. There a good food court on the top floor of that shopping center. Most of the stalls all have models of the food which made ordering easy. We took the city bus 306 (7RMB) to the Terracotta Warriors from the main train station. The 306 is one of the first busses you see when you are walking from the west side of the train station. You can’t miss it. It’s a modern air conditioned bus with a sign outside the bus. I’ve posted a picture of it in my review as well. The bus drops and picks you up from the bottom of the parking lot of the Terra Cotta Warriors site. It’s a bit of walk t Lisez la suite
