The hotel was clean and staff were nice. Located at a couple of hundreds of yards away from Garnett station. You can easily walk to downtown (should take about 15 mins). The neighborhood could be better but it was OK.

A l origine nous avions réservé dans cet hotel pour etre pres de Stone MountainPark. L accueil est sympathique et le concierge fait des efforts du fait que nous parlons seulement l américain basique. La chambre est correcte propre et calme, au rez de chaussée. Arrivés tardivement nous avons pu aller boire un bière et prendre un snack à un bar grill tout proche qui nous a été indiqué par la réception. Accueil sympathique là aussi. Le rapprot qualité prix est excellent.

Très bel hôtel, avec business center gratuit, en centre-ville (même s'il n'y a presque rien dans le centre d'Atlanta), à seulement 20 mn en métro de l'aéroport. "The Ellis Atlanta: good location and price/quality"
Walking distance from congress center; located in the (we think) only place in the area where one can find plenty of restaurants, shops and short walk to major attractions (CNN / World of CocaCola, Centennial Park, Aquarium, etc..). We were happy not to be in midtown or buckhead, which we visitted and found much less attractive in particular for people […] without a car. The entrance to the Peachtree MARTA (public transport that works very well and is perfectly safe) station is just in front of the hotel, with direct train to airport (ca 30 mins). Tip: take a multi day MARTA pass for the duration of your stay straight at the airport, you can get upto 7 days on one pass and it allows you to travel all over the area (busses and trains). See their website. The room price is reasonable, the rooms are clean and although not huge largely big enough to be comfortable,bathroom is clean with all you need (hairdryer etc), the beds are fine, there is even iron and board, and the personnel are kind and helpful; plus the wifi free. During our stay we occasionally profitted from the free "wine tasting" in the afternoon, which is 'sympa', but .. We stayed in the hotel for a full week (which is too long for visiting atlanta, but ok for conference plus a couple of days of tasting the american way of life for europeans that come to the US once every 2 years or so). The huge lenox square shoping mall is 20 mins of MARTA to the north and in our opinion the best place to shop in the area (we didn't like the philips plaza which we found too 'chique' with a 'strange / pretentious atmosphere'). The 'undertown' shopping center (7 mins walk tothe south from hotel) we found 'lugubre' (sorry). If you have to participate in a conference at the GWCC, want to be close to restaurants, bars and main attractions, and don't insist in staying in a 5 star skyscraper from a big hotel chain, this is a very good option.. "Served It's Purpose Boutique Hotel"
Over all the hotel mett our personal criteria of being a stylish boutique hotel type, a plus for us. Value/ cost is also a good consideration. The room was quiet & beds comfortable. The drawbacks: 1) Costly valet service, we ended up taking advise & usiing a lot only 1/2 block away. 2) The room was on the small side. 3)The beds told as 2 queens were […] in reality only doubles. 3) No mini refrig. 4) Artificial creamer 5) Small maintance issues for our 1 night stay: running toilet tank, remote not functional, light bulb out (remote corrected right away). Was not satisfied with the staff. Inaproprate questions from the staff that took us to the room. The front desk staff was rude especially the young lady that checked us in and out. Didn't like the parking situation. Very inconvient the room was great however this was not.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"Great Service, OK hotel"
From the moment we arrived hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. From vallet to front desk to restaurant bartender. We were very pleased. However, the rooms are not really as pictured. They are very small, almost like something you would expect in NYC (closet sized). Our particular room had a very strong sour smell in the bathroom. On the right […] side of the bed was a piece of red chewing gum smeared and smashed into the carpet. Also, i thought i might put a robe on but when i open the closet and looked at them, they were several long black curled hairs on them as if they had not been washed. Not impressed with the rooms at all. "Great location,but the walls were to thin."
We had a nice time in the city, but the room was really small and you could hear everything going on in the hallway and in the next room. Our lock must have been messed up because the door just clicking like it was being unlocked the whole time we were there. We did complain to the front desk in which they said they would get maintenance to look into […] it,but that never happened. At least not while we were there. Overall, our stay at the Ellis was great. The only slight glitch was the valet parking--it took between 10-15 minutes to get our car each time, and one time we had to ask for the car twice before it was gotten. The room was very comfortable and affordable.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"We don't plan to go back..."
The room was small, but clean. There was a great deal of noise from the hallway (primarily the ice machine). We asked to be moved and the staff declined, even though they had already advised that they were at only 50% occupancy. We asked for recommendations for restaurants, and the front desk couldn't tell us what was in the area with any specificity. […] The essentially just said, "Walk about two blocks north and you will see all the restaurants." When we mentioned specific restaurant names (we had done some research), they knew nothing about them. After dinner, we came back to the hotel bar, and the staff made us feel very unwelcome. It was 9:45 on Saturday night, and they advised that they were closing at 10:00, as if to say we shouldn't be asking for a glass of wine. In fact, they had already turned the lights out behind the bar and no one was actually working; we had to wait for someone to make their way over from the dinner tables. Another group (4 people) came in moments after we got our wine, and the server said, "I won't be able to help you for 10 or 15 minutes. I have to clear the tables."
