good place to stay before flying out

Value for money is great with complimentry breakfast and airport transfers a plus. The free parking while we were away for a week is great value also.

Overall not a great experience - the room was shabby, the restaurant slow and not well run, the shuttle back to the airport was late and the driver dropped us at the wrong part of the airport even though I told him who we were flying with

Good value for money, suited us leaving our car, while away for a week, flying from Auckland. Think they should advise clients on the collection pickup at Auckland, when returning, as this was not made clear to us, and caused delays in returning to collect our vehicle. Otherwise value for our dollars!

Service and location was very good. The walls are really thin though and you can hear everything in the rooms next door.

With a flight arriving near midnight the main thought i have is "get me to my room and let me sleep", and this is what this hotel does beautifully. Courtesy shuttle from the airport, quick check in a shower and then blissful sleep. Perfect for when you land in Auckland but won't have time or inclination to see the city just need somewhere to rest.

ideal for late night arrivals & early flights

Stayed here for a night to watch the football in Auckland. The hotel is showing its age but was well suited to me for the one night as it was very handy to Mt. Smart. The room whilst dated appeared clean and tidy and was also quiet. Well priced and would stay again.

It was good being able to stay the night before flying out. Being able to leave our motor vehicle on the premises, being dropped off at the airport and being picked up when we got back is very important. It takes the pressure off us and makes our holiday go smoothly.

The service staff are very friendly, the hotel is pretty rundown, but it was clean and the room itself and bathroom was ok. Really for the price we paid it was pretty good. If you want to stay only overnight in auckland is very convenient and I would stay there again. There is a bus that goes to the city and it stops right at the front of the motel […] for about $5. However if you want a nicer motel there are plenty of other ones in the same area. But if you are going to stay more than that don't stay there, stay at a hotel closer to the city. The biggest plus point of the hotel was its service staff . They were very friendly, I arrived very late at night and they were ready to service us with no delay. Good stay, would have been better if the AC had a remote that worked.

I stayed here before an early flight the next day. The check in was efficient and friendly, the receptionist asked about my flight and what time I needed to get the free shuttle bus on check in so I didn't have to think about it. The room was comfortable and clean. It suited my purpose perfectly.

Just what was needed after a long couple of days. Nice friendly staff,everything as advertised.

Clean comfy rooms a stones throw from the airport. Free Shuttle pick up and drop off. Affordable price, would recommend to fellow travelers and definitely stay again.

I had no problems at all with staff. The location was obviously handy to airport and also getting into town, because it was easy to get onto the motorway.

the room is clean but a bit old. closing to the airport but dont see it useful as nothing around. good for staying the night in order to catch the plane on the next day. however, good service and clean.

room is clean. no thrill. the bus ride to the city is about an hour. round trip fare 10.00 per person. practically no activity near the hotel. Airport to motel transfere and back is convenient. it is better to stay closer to the city if you know the way.

The main advantage of this hotel is its convenient location near Auckland Airport, plus the free shuttle to the airport. The hotel itself seems to be partly under reconstruction at the moment. Our room was neat, the bed comfortable, but the batchroom was not in particularly good condition. .Family of five (from Australia) required to stay overnight close to airport for early morning flight. The adjoining rooms were perfect for our use and were adequately appointed for our purpose. We enjoyed relaxing at the bar and dinner in the restaurant was of good quality.

Very convenient location, good service, clean rooms and I will continue staying here when visiting Auckland

Nothing much near in walking distance but the rooms are ok. Good showers!

The room was nice, but very cold and I could not get teh heating to work. There was no electric blanket on the bed, and one spare blanket. It was so late at night when I arrived, i didnt want to make a fuss so slept in my clothes. Not good.

The best value for money accommodation ever. nothing can beat this and the place was clean apart from some ants. Sky TV did not operate though but it did not matter as the price was so appealing.

If you're looking for a place to stay when you're flying out the next morning, this is it. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are clean, shuttle was prompt. This hotel is a great value for people who need somewhere to stay overnight before you fly out of Auckland.

If you want cheap and next to the airport for one night, this place is fine. If you want to be spoken to like a human, a comfortable bed, quiet room, aircon, an edible breakfast, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! The check-in 'experience' :I was informed that I had not booked a double room. I was constantly made to wait whilst the owner answered 3x telephone […] calls varying from 3-5 minutes as they were enquiries and a chance to earn more revenue. As I had booked via the internet, they already had my money and as it was only for one night and had an early flight the following morning, then they felt they could treat me like an inmate, rather than a paying guest. The room itself was a triple, single bed room.The beds were all thin cheap domestic matresses. They all sagged to one degree or another. It had a TV which one channel had reasonable reception, there was no satellite TV. There was no aircon, I would have to pay to upgrade to an aircon room, or a double room etc! Thankfully, the room was clean and tidy, however, it hadnt seen a paintbrush or carpet cleaner in around 10 years or so. I enquired about WiFi use at the front desk, however, that was too much for the receptionist to understand, or to be bothered with as I had the temerity to interrupt her from reading her paper. A garbled, in-coherent response was said in my general direction. I choose to find WiFi in another location. The breakfast was around NZ$17.00 for the full breakfast buffet. I helped myself to juice, coffee and cereal. I then had to ask for a cooked breakfast. This took 15 minutes to arrive from the kitchen, therefore, I thought it would be cooked to order. It took 15 minutes to place some dried shrivelled up bacon & sausage and 2 poached eggs on to my plate. The food was so bad that I would not even feed it to an animal if I was back home! I complained and it was paid perfectly clear that a refund was not an option, however, I could help myself to the cereal/toast counter if I liked. Overall, the Lisez la suite

Free shuttle from/to airport was accessed. Arranging was very easy. Pick up was about 10 minutes after arranging. Reception asked what time flight out was and asked if wake up call and return shuttle was required. 5.30am wake up call and shuttle left at 6am. On a busy road but room allocated was at the back of the hotel, away from traffic noise. In […] about 10pm and out at 6am so no chance to check the area or restaurant at the hotel. Probably the only criticism of the hotel would be that the design of room locations is a little bit of a rabbit warren, but we were only there one night for a sleep between flights. Would certainly use this location again if requiring an overnight stay between flights but not if staying in Auckland for a week or so as it is about 20km from CBD. Lisez la suite

overall very good. Room clean and comfortable. Internet available but expensive. Restaurant attached to hotel run by the family who owns the hotel. Surprisingly the Indian food was bad even though the family is Indian. Breakfast was good though, and included.

Needed some where close to my event and needed a place to sleep and i had a good nights sleep and morning swim

The Airport Gateway Hotel is actually a Motel, and a pretty poor one at that. All on one floor, Dining room closed at lunch. Grout in bathroom was grungy. Low ceilings of the old asbestos looking type. Reception was pretty much.."here's your keys". Had to ask for help with my bags. This is a Motel, it is run down, has no central heat and is way overpriced. It has none of the usual hotel amenities.. the maids are nice and the towels are soft. As a Hotel it should have a 0.2 rating. as a Motel, maybe a 2.

The Airport Gateway Hotel is the worst hotel/motel/lodge I have ever been in. The beds were beyond uncomfortable. The springs in them were gone, made loud creaking noises every move you made. I was able to get barely 2 or 3 hours of sleep, the beds were so bad. The room wasn't that clean and fairly old. The internet was useless. Jeg havde betalt for et værelse + fuld morgenmad. Dette mente personalet ikke kunne være rigtigt og de ville ikke tro på mig, da min kvittering var på dansk. Jeg fik ingen morgen, så opholdet endte med at blive noget dyre end jeg havde regnet med.
