Byward Blue Inn - Ottawa

Si je reviens à Ottawa, je retournerai volontiers dans cet hôtel. Situé dans le quartier du marché Byward et à proximité du centre d'Ottawa (15mn à pied à peine), il présente un rapport qualité-prix-tranquillité certain. Je le conseillerai à mes amis.

Hotel très bien situé juste à côté de plein de petits restaurants et bars et cependant très calme car dans une rue résidentielle. Chambre comfortable et spacieuse. Hôtel bien situé au centre de Ottawa (à deux pas du Byward Market). Bâtiment commence à vieillir mais propre. Par contre climatisation et ventilation infernale dans la chambre. Petit déjeuner très correct pour le prix (inclus dans la chambre)

Un trés bon hôtel situé en plein centre ville. Le personnel y est trés accueillant. Les chambres sont vraiment très grandes et trés bien équipées: tables et chaises, fauteuils, télé, téléphone, linge de bain. Bon à savoir, mini coin cuisine avec vaiselles, micro ondes, refrigératieur, cafetiere, bouilloire. Une chambre lumineuse et trés propre. Idem […] pour les sanitaires. Belle surprise concernant le petit déjeuner, beaucoup de choix et bon. Hotel bien situé dans un quartier animé mais chambre donnant sur rue calme. chambre agréable lumineuse et propre. présence d'un micro onde et frigo dans les chambres en plus d'une bouiloire, appréciable. A l'accueil un réceptionniste parle français.

Nous avons très bien été acceuillis par le personnel de l'hôtel, le lit était bien comfortable et en plus la localisation est une très grande avantage puisque toute les centre d'intéret à visité à Ottawa son dans un rayon de 10 minutes à pied, mais la qualité de vie de ce quartier fait vraiment pitié.remplis de fêtards, d'itinérant et de sirènes de […] police jusqu'au petites heures du matin, tsé un beau petit quartier où il fait bon vivre! Les trottoires étaient parsemés de vomis et de bouteilles cassées. L'insonorisation de la chambre était nulle, nous étions au 3ièmes étage et le bruit de l'extérieur semblait provenir de notre balcon, sans parler du bruit à l'intérieur des couloirs et de la résonnance provenant de la chambre à l'étage supérieur. Première surprise était que c'est un hôtel à 4 étoiles. En suite, il y a un parking gratuit pour les clients et la chambre était vraiment spacieuse. La vue depuis 16ème étage fait un charme inconturnable et le service très bien. Facile d'aller au centre ville mais sans les contraintes de bruits dans la nuit ni le problème de place. J'ai été agréablement surpris par le type de chambre avec micro-ondes, frigidaire, table et couvert, pour un prix abordable et près du marché, des centres d'achat, du parlement, du canal rideau, etc.

Très satisfait, nous avons apprécié le bilinguisme, nous y retourenerons sûrement. FB&JP

Spartan European-type accomodation, Very clean. Friendly service. Well placed near Bytown.

The hotel is older with a boarding house feel. Sound travels throughout the building. Staff are polite and helpful. Right in the heart of the Byward Market area.

quality service good valve but need better pillows

Was pleasantly by the cleanliness if the hotel and the location. They are very accommodating, loved that they had laptops that you could use in their lounge and there were snacks throughout the day that you could have all complimentary. Will definitely stay there again. I parked my car in their garage and didn't need it till I left.

It's all about the art. If you consider yourself a little quirky and you don't 4 start conditions, this place is for you. There's original art on all the walls, and lots of space in the rooms. The service is great if you're willing to engage on a human level, not if you're perfunctionary. :)

This is the perfect hotel for me.as a person who travels alone It's smaller size and great location are just right. I had a most charming room and the balcony was an added bonus. The staff was very friendly, helpful and gracious. I highly recommend this inn for those who prefer a comfortable and pleasant stay in a beautiful city. good, basic hotel, close to everything

Very helpful front desk staff. We did not get maid service the second day, but that was OK. It is perfectly located close to everything. Nice breakfast, all in all an excellent find.

Stayed here twice. Loved it both times. Highly recommended!

This hotel looks like it used to be an old nursing home or rehad hostel. The halls are narrow with parquet flooring. The rooms are basic (to say the least) with laminate flooring and MDF furniture (IKEA?) Bed was comfortable, nice to have a balcony for smokers, one small elevator, staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing […] fancy; bacon, eggs, cereal, yogurt cereal etc. You can't beat the location if you're interested in the Byward Market, Parliament buildings, downtown core. Great place to stay. Within walking distance of everything. City underground parking 20 feet away was a great advantage. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Enjoyed the afternoon tea each day!

I thought this hotel was overpriced for the condition and decoration of the rooms. The front reception people were lovely and very helpful though, I give them a 10 out of 10. My room had an old window airconditioner and the blind above it was bent and broken, so that looked a little sketchy. The bed's very hard, but the room is clean. Good location (right in the Byward Market), but seriously, that's it for the attraction to this place. My counterpart described it as "European". Bare bones basics with no comfort. That's it folks; a place to sleep.

Nice hotel, tidy and clean.Hotel location is perfect for somebody which doesn't know the city. Wireless internet worked very good. The breakfast could be better.

Byward Blue in was in a gread location, not fancy but interesting and simple. They have a definite charm, coffee and tea in the afternoon, balconies and interesting art work. Breakfast was fine and included. Beds were very comfortable and room was clean. Staff were accommodating and very courteous-reminded me of ismaller inns we'd stayed in Greece and […] Italy. This is a perfect spot to stay for a few days of sightseeing in Ottawa -- a short walk from Parliament, the National Gallery, and the many shops and restaurants of the Byward Market. I had reserved and paid two night June 9 and 10, 2011 I checked in the hotel in a hurry, and went out again. When I returned late that night, I realized that the room was terrible, dim lights and half broken furnitures. There wwas an air conditioner in the window that made a very loud noise. When I opened the bed, I realized that someone had slept in […] it already, and the sheets had not been changed. I immediately went downstair and called the man at the front desk, and he came immediately and change the sheets himself. By his reaction I saw that he was not surprised. The following morning I went for breakfast. The dining area was not very clean, and I did not like the look of what they were offering. I went to eat breakfast at a nearby restaurant. I left the hotel immediately after. I did not stay the second night. I had already paid and lost my money. There was no way that I was going to stay in that place. Just too awful. Lisez la suite

I think this hotel is good for the price. Basically you get your room and a pleasant main floor sitting room/dining room. No other amenities. I stayed there for 4 nights in May 2011. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The area around the hotel was quiet and it is close to the market. I could walk to the Parliament Buildings in about 15 minutes. I […] had some trouble getting the wifi connection to work on my Mac PowerBook G4, but eventually it did. The room was spartan but clean. Bed was comfy. They require a $150 damage deposit, which I thought was odd. The Hotel.com website said wifi and breakfast were not included, but in fact the wifi was included and so was a continental breakfast. An economical and pleasant stay with parking and a parking garage beside so you don't have to drive for the weekend . Hotel rate includes continental breakfast but you can pay extra and have a full breakfast.The balconies are a nice touch(especially for the smoker).

Although I was relatively happy with my room, there was a very unpleasant odour throughout the hallway, that was quite repugnant. Not sure what the cause was, but I would recommend that they do something about it, or they will lose business.

This is a basic hotel with nice, basic clean rooms, decent breakfast, and a small surcharge for hot breakfast. I chose this hotel close to my home, which was crowded with family over the holidays. Looking at the website, I felt that this was an Inn like a B&B. It is more like a 2-star hotel constructed from a condominium. So the hotel/inn is characterless, but the staff are helpful and the location is great.

The hotel is situated right on the edge of the Byward Market area, close to stalls, shops and restaurants. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, offering all the necessary information to make our stay enjoyable. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable and well presented. Byward Blue Inn has been our hotel of choice in Ottawa. Its location at the Byward Market is central to all of Ottawa's top attractions. Hotel is clean, friendly and easy on the budget. We'll be coming back the next time we're in Ottawa.
