Extended Stay America Chicago - Midway - Chicago

Good. Room was clean. Near Midway ($12 by taxi). Only bad point: no breakfast but there was a coffee machine in the room.

Im not one to usually complain about hotels, and usually, I think hotels are at least adequate. I only wanted this for a decent-priced 1-night hotel before going to downtown Chicago, and it definitely was not comfortable. TOOK A WEEKEND GET-AWAY AND WAS ABLE TO SHOP TIL I DROPPED. JUST ABOUT EVERY STORE YOU COULD THINK OF CLOSE BY.

Good hotel for the price.

Reserved a non-smoking room and it smelled like smoke and the whlole floor smelled like smoke. If you need a clean towel you have to go down stairs to have the front desk check you out a clean towel and take them your used one (really?). The front desk also issues out shampoo. Two positive things: 1. The front desk people were very pleasant and brought an extra blanket when asked...though they could not find more than one pillow in a nearly empty hotel. 2. The location is convenient to the airport for those people in need of that. Negative: The bed was a brick. Felt like they wrapped cinder block with a mattress pad. The […] comforter was torn. The TV was tiny (who would want to stay for an extended time with that). The shower pressure was terrible and the shower head sprayed all over the place..but not where you needed it. It's in a so-so neighborhood (I'm from around there so I know the area) and it's next to an extremely busy, and thus noisy, main street. Given the rates and the poor quality of the room, I'm not sure this place is worth it. I certainly wouldn't stay there for an extended period of time, let alone one night. Lisez la suite

I travel several times throughout the year and most times my husband and my 12month old travel with me. It is important to find a place that I can prepare dinner, warm up left overs, store breastmilk, make a toast, check internet, prepare for my presentations, and still me close to shops and shopping. I love it! Would stay there again.

This hotel was very fair. I do not have any complaints. It served its purpose. Wi fi isnt free anywhere in the hotel, but the customer servce was great.

My job completed one day earlier. Because I had booked through Hotels.com, I was faced with the possibility of paying for an extra night as originally planned. The manager, Chas, at the front desk said not to worry. They would make the adjustment and contact Hotels.com. The charge would be refunded on my credit card. My first impression of the hotel was ok, whoever my wife and I had an excellent time there, even-thought it was a business trip it almost felt like it was our second honey moon we enjoyed our stay very much, the room was clean no breakfast was served at the hotel, I didn't care much since there were many places to eat around the hotel.

We had a convention in downtown and booked online thinking this would be closest hotel with free parking. Bathroom was dirty, saw hair on the floor when we checked in. Tub drain hole had no cover. Nothing spectacular, Costco right next door, so that was nice. You get what you pay for. The kitchenette was nice.

We've stayed at extended stays in the past, in various cities, because they allow pets. However, this one, by far, was the dirtest. The bathroom floor had long black hairs all around the toilet and tub (my husband and I have blonde hair) and the comforter and blanket had a terrible body odor smell. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and friendly, […] but the room was one of the worst I've stayed in as far as cleanliness. Bath and Kitchenette floors what sticky. Carpeting was damp - though maybe it had been recently cleaned. Hallway smelled of cigarette smoke - not pleasant to me. My room was okay, but was only there to sleep. Came in late and left as soon as I got up. Is was quiet for sleeping.

Beds are nothing special, my room smelled like cigarettes, and I could smell it coming in somewhere. I put the bathroom and kitchen vents on, along with A/C and as long as it was on the smell was gone. Place was clean enough and guy at front desk was pleasent and accomodating. Everything else is acceptable except the strong smell from the carpet floor. It absolutely needs deep cleaning oftenly!

The location was good but the hotel was dated and not very clean. The rooms weren't very modern and not very well appointed for studio rooms.

This extended stay hotel did not even have a wake up call service. We called the front desk and the man said to use the radio clock. In addition there was no computer available to guests. I would never stay there again.

Location turned out to be great. We could drive to Park and Ride lot and for a modest amount park for 12 hours and ride Orange Line downtown. You could also take bus one block from Hotel. Last time in Chicago we stayed downtown and spent 3 times on hotel and parking. This was a great value. It was also quite close to our son's apartment. I liked having […] a refrigerator and kitchen sink, silverware, etc for quick take out food. One criticism I have is that we requested a king bed but were given a queen....it was OK and the room was quite spacious. Lisez la suite

i checked into this hotel by reconmadation from hotel operator, i was not pleased, i called for a wake up call and the night attenent said we do not do that here, that is way there ia a alarmclock to the right of your bed, he had an atatute with me, i said there is no alarm clock in my room, he said oh them i will bring one to you, i said forget it […] i do not want you at my room good night Lisez la suite

I selected this Extended Stay because I wanted to be close to the Midway Airport on the night before flying home after a long business trip. I was familiar with the brand and some other locations so I felt that it would be adequate for 8 hours of sleep and the price was certainly good. That's all I needed. However, the place has the ambiance of an urban […] "Y" and the room had the overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes (it was a no smoking room). It was very late when I arrived and I had to be up early so I did not ask for a room change (a mistake). I did inform the desk clerk on the way out. He said he would report to housekeeping. Clean rooms, reasonably priced, close to grocery stores and shopping. Close to Midway airport.

Booked a non smoking room.... received a room that smelled at though someone had smoked in it earlier that day. Staff was unable to switch rooms.

the hotel was convenient to Toyota Park and in good shape. The rooms were good sized and seemed to be clean. I wasn't expecting the Ritz so it met or exceeded my expectations.

It would have been better to sleep on a cement slab. The beds were hard as rocks. The hotel was clean though, and for the price acceptable. However, it was very near the ghetto and a little scary - especially for two women traveling alone.

The room was relatively clean although we requested a non-smoking room and it smelled like smoke and had ashtrays which made the room a bit uncomfortable to stay in. Bed was comfy. Called the desk and asked for a pillow case and they said we could come down and get one. Sidewalk doesn't go all the way to the hotel so if you are taking public transportation […] you have to walk on the road or though another parking lot. On the whole not a terrible hotel. The kichen area is the best. The hotel is clean and very convenience. Tammy at the front desk seen to it that my famiy members had their rooms on the same floor. We were their for my Aunt's funeral. The location was only seven minutes from the church. The stores and fast food places was within our reach. The only main problem is the mattress. That was […] the hardest mattress in the world. It was a great stay, unlike some of the stories I've heard. The person at the front desk was very friendly and check in was quick. I went with my fiance and it was romantic for us. The hotel needs some serious cosmetic upgrades. Deep clean the carpets and floors. New bed spreads, paint and matching plates, cups, glasses and silverware would be nice. There were no "sample" size toiletries, iron or dish detergent. Worth the price if it didnt look so run down!!
