"Hotel Dukes Palace Kempinski, Bruges"
Hotel was very nice. However, rooms were finally only available at 5 pm and we were told two times to wait another hour. This was not so professional for a 5* hotel.
"Hotel Kempinski Bruges"

Excellent. The best place to stay in Bruges. The only real 5-star hotel in the city.
"Great Stay!"
from the team at check-in, to the rooms, to the hotel bar...this was perfect!
"Kempinski, Bruges"
We have stayed in many Kempinski hotels, but Bruges does not compare with those in Geneva, Jordan, London or elsewhere, particularly Asia. At first sight, the look and feel of the hotel leaves things to be desired. The reception hall is terribly small (only 2 small desks), consequently confidentiality cannot be assured in any way. Guest names, credit […] card nos., not to speak of private conversations between guests and hotel staff can be easily overheard. There is only one entrance door. On a cold day, the draft into the reception hall is very annoying, for everyone. Also, there is little space for storing the luggage. The adjacent lounge/bar is simply dirty. The floors are not cleaned during the day, and the sofas, chairs and tables in the lounge are never properly cleaned. This is very disappointing for a hotel of this category. I am afraid I cannot recommend this hotel. Lisez la suite

Good lication for an ex-palace. Only improvement is bedding

"Do not stay here with any valuables."
One would expect much more from the only 5-star hotel in Bruges. Clearly I did, and I did my research upfront. Hotel, wonderful historical building. Location, superb. No concierge but staff will do their best to support you. Here's the problem, I had a $4,000 diamond ring stolen from me. No, it was not in the safe at the time which is my fault entirely. […] BUT, it was deeply hidden in a shoe, in a side pocket of my luggage and the luggage was closed shut. It was over a period of an afternoon. There is no doubt that someone went in search of treasures. When I brought it to the manager's attention at the front desk, I was told it was my fault. Clearly, I should have put it in the safe, but this doesn't help after the fact. He then said condescendingly that it will "turn up, this happens all the time with our affluent guests". It did not, and I turned the room (and my luggage) inside out looking for it with my friend. When I asked if he could kindly contact the police in Bruges for a police report, he stated "Miss, it's Saturday night and they have more important things to manage." If it wasn't for a friend providing me with a direct line into the U.S. Embassy who immediately directed me to the police, I would not have been able to file a proper report prior to my flight approximately 5 hours from the time of my discovery. Again, I would expect much more from a 5-star hotel stay. Please beware if you are a frequent traveler and have discerning taste and expectations. It's unfortunate, I loved Bruges and with the exception of a few technical glitches (phones didn't work in the room), the hotel itself could be a destination with the right management in place. The hotel was perfectly situated, ideal for anyone who wants to be in the middle of Brugge and who wants to see the city by foot. Beautiful hotel, Great location. Wonderful staff. Highly recommend you stay here.
"Kempinski Dukes Bruge - a great hotel!"
So many great things about this hotel!! The location is just slightly off the main street so it gives you a break from the chaos, especially when the city if full of tourists (ourselves incuded) as it was during our recent stay. The accomodations are first class, everything you could want. In addition, the garden behind the hotel is a real treat - a […] perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee or glass of wine at the end of a day of sightseeing, although you will have to share it with a Great Big Red Poodle!! We would definitely return if ever in Bruges again. Lisez la suite
"Kempinski Hotel Dukes Palace in Bruges, Belgium"
We LOVED this hotel. It was charming and very modern at the same time. Our rooms were very well designed and contemporary while the common areas were old world charm. The location was spectacular since the main square and the restaurants were just outside the door of the hotel. we enjoyed every minute while staying in this hotel.
"Kempinski Hotel Dukes Palace in Bruges"
Beautiful hotel and convenient to everything. Highly recommend it!
"Kempinski Duke's Palace in Brugge"
Excellent hotel! Only a 2 minute walk to Market Square but tucked away in a nice side street. The hotel staff was amazing overall, particularly Sylvia, who gave great recommendations for dinner (Bistro de Huzaar). Very comfortable beds, very nice bathroom, great service! A great patio/courtyard with outside seating, a perfect place for a drink after […] exploring such a beautiful city. Would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend to anybody coming to Brugge Lisez la suite
"Kempinski Brugges - a great hotel!"
Stayed there on Aug 2011 with wife and 2 young kids - we traveled from israel to a 11-day trip to the Netherlands and Belgium. Kempinski? Great everything - Location, Restaurant, Room and Service. Relatively to what you'd expect it was children friendly. The best hotel out of the 7 we stayed in this trip (including Sofitels and other nice ones). Reasonable […] price for what you get. Highly recommended! Lisez la suite
Very central location, beautiful gardens, luxurious rooms, lovely pool/spa area. And as always with Kempinski - super professional staff. Close to all Brugge attractions, shops, Market Square, restaurants. Child friendly. Just wonderful. Kempinski never lets you down.

"Excellent"
Everything is great. One thing could be improved: internet access should be included in the (high) price of the room. This is almost standard in the industry and 25 euros per day is outrageous and made me use my 3G connection instead...
"Bruges Luxury Hotel"
The hotel is just a few yards from the main square but set back on a quaint side street so the hustle and bustle is left behind you as you enter. The lounge and restaurant has seating in a garden that has several interesting sculptures including a five foot high red poodle. Although the building exterior is very castle like the interior, electronics, […] plumbing and elevator are all recent technology. I used the modern spa to work off some Belgian chocolates - well OK maybe I broke even. Staffs are very attentive and friendly. Although I was there on business, I would definitely recommend this for a romantic holiday. Lisez la suite
"Amazing"
My husband and I loved this hotel. Our room was beautiful with a great view and the hotel was close to everything. Truly a gem and thanks to Hotels.com we were able to stay here.
"Elegant, and right in the heart of Bruges"
The hotel has done a terrific job of rennovation of the origional building and blending the added building(s) to make a seamless and great overall establishment. You have a sense of stepping back in time as you explore the public areas, yet all of the modern conviences are there. The staff are friendly and efficient, the accomodations excellent, and […] the location very convienient. Lisez la suite
"Great Hotel"
Everything was fantasic. The location is perfect and the look and feel of the hotel was very impressive! Only grumble is that we left the hotel on the 1st morning at 10am and on returning at 4pm, our room had not yet been cleaned by room service. It was dealt with immediatly, however, it did put a slight dampner on the stay at the time, but actually, […] the overall experiece made up for the mistake. Most hotels in Bruges are very old fashioned so it was great to stay at a more modern 'old world' hotel! Lisez la suite

"Dukes Palace Hotel- welcoming and luxurious"
A gem of a hotel, just right for a romantic weekend away. Wonderful reception on arrival, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful ensuite room. The Spa facilities are fantastic and well worth visiting. The hotel is steps away from the shopping area and the Market Square. The finest chocolate is to be found at The Cholcolate Line.

"Stay like a Duke"
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, anywhere. A great location near the Markt and the staff were friendly, polite, and responsive. Would be overjoyed to visit again some day and see the big red dog in the garden.
"Outstanding"
This hotel was simply outstanding. It is the first Kempinski hotel we stayed in, but we will look for this chain in future. The staff were excellent. The bedrooms were superb with many excellent amenities and we had good views of the city of Bruges. I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Excellent but needs a little to make it perfect"
The hotel is excellent in the basics(room, staff, service, general cleanliness). We didn't use the SPA but by all accounts its quite nice. Unfortunately the Dukes Palace does not live up to it's name. It's very well renovated but not in the classic style. Modern furniture and decor takes away from the overall experience. The garden is alos lacking […] in the same way, the modern touches are out of place considering the hostory of the building. This is the only fault I can find but for 5 star prices (even internet is not included - hmmm) you would expect the right experience. Constant selling of hotel services also gets a bit annoying considering the prices you have paid. I am marking it down for these reasons. If you don't care about these things then this place is perfect for you. Lisez la suite
"Kempinski Brugge"
We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Dukes Palace. The room was beautifully decorated with plenty of space and nice extras. The staff were all helpful and polite. We only had wine, beer and snacks at the hotel while watching the world cup but the service and food were both good. We didn't eat at the hotel because we wanted to explore the city more. […] The location is in the old town and you can walk to all areas of interest easily. You will need a taxi from the train station however. Lisez la suite
"Kempinski Duke's Palace, Bruges - fabulous luxury"
This hotel is siruated right in the heart of the old city of Bruges close to everything that the average tourist wants to see and do. It is an ideal choice. The hotel offers luxury and quality in abundance - only the very spoiled guest will not be satisfied! The restaurant is outstanding both at breakfast and dinner, in fact, all day long. Every simple […] coffee comes with cake and the prices are reasonable for a hotel of this standard. Our every desire was met and we would not hesitate to stay here again - probably the best service we've ever had in Europe. Lisez la suite
"We were pampered!"
What a charming hotel and exemplary staff! We were thoroughly pleased with our room and service. The only negative is the breakfast is a bit expensive, but everything is simply lovely and every one of the staff put great efforts into accommodating every need.
"Dukes palace - great stay"
fantastic service ! Beautiful rooms with HUGE bathrooms (deluxe rooms) which are situated in the roof of the old palace... overall a fantastic stay ! I also really appreciated the fact that in room services are not a rip off...5 euros for all non-adult movies + internet and the mini-bar is cost price (2 Euro for soft drinks) !
"Honeymoon Heaven in Bruges"
The Kempinski staff were very helpful throughout our 3 day honeymoon in Bruges. They recommended a couple of really good restaurants, found us bicycles to hire, booked taxis, provided maps with directions on where to go and generally made us really welcome. We didn't ever make breakfast but drank in the bar late at night both outside in the courtyard […] and inside the bar itself. The barman brought out a blanket on one of the less warm evenings without being asked. The room (middle sort of range) was fine - very clean and tidy on arrival with a massive and comfortable bed. We only used the spa once and even then only the swimming pool bit but that was very welcome after being outside in the hot sun all day. Lisez la suite
