La climatisation est un grand souci dans la chambre ! Il faisait très froid et impossible de régler à bon niveau quand il fait -2 dehors je peux vous dire que ce n'est pas agréable du tout !! Dans les couloirs la fraîcheur était désagréable !!

Tout d'abord l'accueil est vraiment chaleureux. La chambre n'etait pas très grande mais suffisante pour nous 3. Rien à dire sur la propreté des lieux c'etait clean. Belle salle de bain, bien agencé. Théière et biscuit présent à l'arrivée. Petit déjeuner non anglais mais copieux et avec beaucoup de choix. Merci pour l'accueil.

"Good and clean"
Always clean and always good value for money. Rooms and beds are comfortable with a good sized en-suite. Breakfast can be a bit hectic when the hotel is busy. The downside is the lack of parking and main road but it is only a few minutes walk from both the bus and railway stations with the town centre and shops close by.Avis véridique Hotels.com

Very poor customer service. The dishes which was stacked for you at breakfast were wet and still had food remains. Didn't eat breakfast as result during my stay. My husband and I arrive after a 12 hour flight and was told they only had a room with two single beds . After much deliberation the front desk clerk decided to release one of the rooms in the […] basement which he said was reserved for another guest. What a laugh! Ideal for a short stopover - good rate booked last minute, clean room with everything you need, and friendly helpful staff. Good lobby/breakfast area, and newspapers provided. Breakfast included in the room rate, good selection of items on offer. Unique use of bathroom space - quirky, kids loved it. Everything was fine,however when I checked in at reception I was told there was only a smoking room left, as I had pre-paid I had to take it, if I had known when booking I would not have booked the room, I am very sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke hence the reason I tried to sleep with the window open, not sure if this is the fault of the website […] or the hotel but in future I would like to know which rooms are available prior to confirming my booking and paying. Good price but I booked the hotel for three people and , when we got there late at night, the third bed was not prepared, no pillows , no towels for the third person, my son. Although parking can be a problem at this hotel the impact is much reduced through the arrangements made by the hotel to make use of a neighbouring car park, and the helpful attitude of the manager and staff. "Good for the price."
One lift was out of order so the wait for the other was quite long at times. The sofa by the lift was extremely filthy. On the plus side the rooms are ok. The breakfast was ok. The staff were helpful. The location was good for us. Overall would go again.Avis véridique Expedia

There is no parking at the hotel, and it is not untill you have paid to park, and walked to the hotel do you see a sign offering free parking in the Matalan opposite. Easy to find from the motorway but don't go to the Holiday Inn you see first as we did. You are looking for the Express by Holiday Inn which is left from the roundabout you see the Holiday Inn at, then 4th exit off the next roundabout & there it is on the right. Clean hotel & room. Staff helpful. Breakfast was included & plenty to choose from. Cereals, […] toast, sausages, eggs, pastry, fruit juices etc. 500ml bottles of water at reception were expensive & the vending machines were out of order but there is a Tesco a few minutes walk away. Parking at the hotel is only a few spaces but you can pick up a free parking voucher from hotel reception to park opposite in the Matalan shop's massive car park. A Wetherspoons pub is very close by & town too. The Old Town is a 15-20 min walk away & great for eating & drinking. Bus station is 1 min walk away. Would stay again. Fantastic hotel, very clean and lovely customer service. The breakfast was great. There are a few parking spaces around the back but if you can't get in these you can park at matalan over the road from 5pm until 9am. Be aware hotel itself has very limited parking and no on road parking, there is a lot stay carjack though just round the corner which cost £4.80 for overnight parking. "It was okay for the money."
Overall I didn't like the hotel and wouldn't recommend it. Pros: The hotel is close to the train station in Stevenage. If you want to go to London, it takes around 30 minutes to go to King's Cross. There is free wi-fi in the lobby (though you have to log in every 30 minutes). The room was clean. Cons: The breakfast was aweful! The variety was poor […] and the food was disgusting. It is basically beans, very weird sausages, very weird scrumbled egg, plain bread, yoghurt and cereal. For drinks they had coffee and tea. My room was in the basement and it was freezing in there. We stayed here before getting the train to London and onwards to Paris. The hotel was easy to find and not far from the motorway. Parking was free in the Matalan opposite between 5pm and 9am which suited us ideally, but given there are only a handful of free spaces in the hotel you may want to bear this in mind. i know its a freebie and the hotel is great and i know i shouldn't moan but the set up for breakfast needs looking at. After a very long queue due to the fact that the toasters in the wrong place (not rocket science) my daughter had only a knife to eat her beans and sausage with. interesting but wrong!
