"Hotel New World on East Bowery New York, New York."
"Hotel New World, New York, Chinatown"

"Worst Hotel Ever....."
This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. It was a horrible experience. First of all the hotel itself is up a huge flight of stairs. No elevator. Thats just to get to the ”lobby”. Then the thre are three more floors with rooms. There are 2 huge sets of stairs between each floor. Again, no elevators. I was on the top floor. The doors […] to the rooms are basically pieces of wood bolted to door framed, usually with open space above or below. U can look right into the tiny rooms. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything in everyroom around u. A had to listen to another customers snores the entire night. The room itself was the worst part. The bed was hard and stiff. The sheets felt hard and dingy. There were pee stains and hair all over the bed. And there were two very thin, dirty old pillows. I slept in my full clothes for fear of what I was laying in. The staff itself could not even find my reservation, so i had to pull it up on the computer to show them. I also realize it was in China town, but the staff spoke no English. It was the worst hotel expierence of my life. Lisez la suite
"rude"
RUDE PEOPLE! and diry
"awesome"
If you need room service and a million tv channels, then stay somewhere else. If you want to stay in a tiny, clean, simple room, and not bother your NY friends by asking them if you can crash in their Chelsea studio, then stay here.
"To many things and none good"
A hole in the wall hotel that was TINY and good for one thing. Sleep wasn't one of them. I can say that for the price and location, it was worth it.

I RESERVE THIS HOTEL WITH 2 BEDS , FOR SURPRISE IN THE ROOM ONLY HAVE 1 BED FOR 2 PERSONS, THE HOTEL NO HAVE ELEVATOR AND THE LADDERS ARE TOO SMALL. THE ROOM NO HAVE AIR CONDITIONER . FINALLY THE ONLY GOOD OF THE HOTEL IS THE LOCATION NEAR CHINATOWN (WALKING 2 MINUTES. "New World hotel - avoid it if you can"
Its in the middle of chinatown and 10 minutes from the Canal St subway. Theres no elevator - so I had 70 steps to my room. Everyone is chinese and thats fine as long as you know what you are getting into. The room had a lino floor, the bed was as hard as a rock, no wardrobe and a miniscule wndow, plus something on the floor was crawling - I think it […] was a roach... nice...! The walls are paper thin too. Do yourself a favor if you can and spend a few dollars more and get something MUCH better. Lisez la suite
"Great location, Worst Conditions"
I wanted to stay near Chinatown/Soho area but the conditions of this hotel was way worse than what I expected. First off, the wall outlets were not screwed to the wall ( how much does it cost to fix that?) , you can hear the noise every other hotel guest makes on the same floor, they dont clean or change sheets if you stay more than 1 day, the tub will […] clog after you shower, and when you turn off the lights to sleep, you're looking up to a screen from the ceiling showing the building interior attic. It's like being in a hilarious movie, only thing is, it's for real!!! Lisez la suite
"New World Hotel"
The worst hotel in the US. I did not mind the fact that the bed took up the entire bedroom or that the mattress was as hard as a rock. What I did mind, however, was the dirt and oil stains on the linens and blankets and pillows and pillow cases. The worst part was the multiple strands of hair that we found between the fitted sheet and top sheet- it […] was as though the sheets had not been changed since the last guest! Lisez la suite
"New World Hotel NYC"
This hotel made my husband and I decide that we are all done with trying to save a few bucks on hotel stays. HORRIBLE
"not your typical hotel but..."
Hotel snobs should certainly not stay here. It is very much like a hostel not at all like a hotel. In fact it reminded me of the 10$ hostel I stayed at in Beijing. But the neighborhood is great for walking all over town and near subway. It is pricey for a hostel, but that is probably just NY. You are paying for location, not anything else.
"New World Hotel: Not a Flea Bag"
An inexpensive, bare-bones hotel at the lower end of The Bowery, i.e., on the edge of Chinatown. Good location for exploring Lower Manhattan. Adequate service. No light bulb in bed lamp. No water glass in bathroom. Otherwise clean. No bedbugs. Four Chinese channels + CNN on TV. I'd recommend it to college kids who didn't expect to spend much time in […] their hotel room. "Be Careful"
My reservation was for a room with 2 full size beds. The first room they gave me had one bed. Since there was a rate difference I complained. They then gave me a room with 1 full bed and 1 twin. I gave up. The hotel guest were noisy.
"Only Stay as a Travelling Student"
This "hotel" is really a hostel. For that, it's fine. But if you're trying to find an actual hotel, this isn't the place. They do have rooms with a bathroom attached, but you have to make your own bed, the blankets are dirty, and they don't clean the room in between days. For hostel says, it's just a typical hostel where people share a bathroom, it's […] loud, and your room is tiny. Thus, you should only be here if alone and poor. Lisez la suite
"The new world hotel"
The hotel was very modern and fresh. the room was clean and neat. great view. the front desk was very busy, and at the time of our stay it was manned by only one person.
"Worst...Please don't select"
I am sure i have been literaly cheated by Hotels.com..This was a pathetic hotel with very bad surroundings and stealing your money. The room was so small, beds, bathrooms were bad..not even worth for a single penny..folks your trip to new york will get screwed if you stay here...CAUTION....!
"New World Hotel"
We were pleased with our stay. Stayed two nights. Before booking I had read the reviews and was not sure but the price and location (Near Subway, Chinatown and Little Italy, plus close to Ground Zero (20-25 min walk), we took a chance. For the price charged, one cannot complain. This is NOT a 4 or 5 Star hotel. Basic hotel, had running hot water. Note […] that they do not have A/C and no elevators. Must Use stairs. Came home late at nights, the place is and neighborhood is quite secure. Last day after check-oot at 11.00am we were able to leave our luggage secure at no extra charge and went to City again until 6PM to retrieve our bags for our onward journey. Front staff quite friendly. Good value for what we paid. Would go back again. 2 star certainly....no hesitation in recommending and going back. Good enough for short stay. Lisez la suite
"DO NOT STAY HERE!"
The hotel rates were so high for the disgusting and small room. The hotel staff was rude and unhelpful and barely spoke english. It is located in the middle of chinatown in the worst location possible. There was NOWHERE to park and the hotel staff did not know of any parking garages in the area. When we arrived they wanted to charge us for other things, […] ie. A $20 charge for a room key!!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! Lisez la suite
"New World hotel - close to Chinatown, subways"
Actually we really like our 1 week stay in New World hotel, where we can walk to the subway and get everywhere in Manhattan, the room is small but we didn't really care, we spent the days in downtown and just went back to the hotel to sleep. We would be back there definitely.
"Exactly what we paid for"
For what we paid, this place exceeded our expectations. It was far and away the best hotel rate I could find in all of Manhattan. (It was even less expensive than hostel rooms I looked at.) The rooms are small, but clean, and you have a private bathroom. The rooms also have a very nice flat screen TV and a safe in it. It was quiet. Also -- I felt very […] safe there. I was traveling with my boyfriend on this trip, but as a young woman who does a fair amount of solo traveling -- I wouldn't hesitate to stay there by myself. If you want anything more than that in this area, you'll have to pay a lot more for it. Lisez la suite
"The worst hotel I have ever stayed in"
I like camping. I like roughing it. I don't need much. This was the worst hotel ever. The staff was nice enough, but it was essentially a dirty little shoebox. The room was literally WINDOWLESS with FLUORESCENT LIGHTS. Like a dirty dorm room with no windows. And there was blood on the shower wall. Seriously. If you LITERALLY have nowhere else to stay, […] stay here. It's indoors, but that's all I can say about. Lisez la suite
"New World Hotel..CHINATOWN NYC"
essentially a hostel..this hotel is the best! we called it.. '"the 10000 stairs" no elevator..no problem. easygoing, friendly staff that are 'almost' impossible to upset..PERFECT LOCATION for DOWNTOWN experience..hit up the CUP AND SAUCER on eldridge st...just around the corner for GREAT greasy spoon diner fare. "All of the charm of sleeping in a NY subway car.."
I was only staying one night in the city, so I opted for something cheap and, at the time of booking, one or two stars was something I would chance. I consider myself a thrift, bargain seeking guy. This hotel has changed my ways.. Our room was on the top (5th) floor. I'm guessing where your room is depends on how youthful you look because there is […] no elevator. Just steep inclined stairs. I'm glad I didn't carry much luggage. Our room had a private bathroom, but as my title says, the room had all the charm of sleeping in a NY subway car. It was dank and small and felt really dingy. The window had been painted white. The TV did not work. The furniture was decrepit. The bathroom was worse. The floor and sink was dusted with hair (curly and otherwise). The complimentary sundries they provide are of low quality. Packets of shampoo, tiny bars of soap that say "SOAP" (a little reassuring I guess), and toilet paper that is frustratingly hard to tear without splitting in two (creating one-ply strips). The toothbrush and toothpaste packets were nice enough. I jumped in the tiny shower which seemed clean enough-- until I drew the curtain. The inside of the curtain was brown with mildew! I actually squealed with displeasure at that moment. After the quickest shower of my life, I dried myself on the towel provided. The towel had what looked like permanent stains on it. Which brings us to the actual night stay.. At around 12:30am, someone in the adjacent room came back and switched on their TV. Im not sure exactly how loud it was, but it sounded like it was in our same room; a loud Chinese soap opera. I buried my head in the pillow and tried to block out the noise. I was then woken up at 2am to LOUD snoring from the other room. At least the TV was turned off. This hotel experience ranks as one of the worst in my life. I will definitely pay more for a nicer room next time. It's worth it for a more comfortable bed and bathroom you can actually feel clean in. Lisez la suite

"Almost scary experience"
Do you check to premises which claim to be a "hotel" before you advertize them in hotels.com or expedia??? This place shoudn't be a hotel at all. The low prices shouldn't be a justification for it to qualify as a hotel. It is a shame for you, HOTELS.COM, for NYC, and for the USA!!! And have the fire inspection and the police ever checked this place […] ? Lisez la suite
"Good hotel in Manhattan for the price!!!"
You get more than what you pay for. Hotel is average, neat with help full staff in the reception. sometime language is problem of communication but they were totally helpful. Good & neat rooms to sleep. Dont except room service, luxury branded beds, comforters, fire place and wall decals. U r paying very less expensive price. Come on you are going […] to spend only 10% of your time at hotel and this one worth it. Pros: + Cheap Price for the stay in Manhattan. + Near attractions like WTC, wall st & Brooklyn bridge. + Subway easily accessible. Orange Grant, Brown Bowery & Green/yellow Clark + Near by to PATH. + Easy accessible to fine dining & good fast foods in little italy and local chinese food. + Near by Chase bank & ATM, Medical shops. + Near by cheap souvenir shops. Cons: + Shabby and at times smelly streets (you not gonna live ur life there. So i didn't mind that). we didn't had any security issues though we returned to hotel around 1 am both the days using subway. Lisez la suite

"New World Hotel in NYC - Tiny, but affordable"
Let me just tell you how small this room is. I don't think I can prepare you for how tiny it is. You won't believe me and you'll go there and then all of a sudden you'll be all like "Snap! This room is small!" Trust me, room is small. Not a bad place though, staff was friendly and helpful. Fair price to say the least!
"Can't Complain!!"
So it's not the kind of place you would have a high-end business client stay.... but on a value for money deal in New York it was excellent!! Very friendly staff, clean , comfortable room, NO BEDBUGS!! , the perfect place to get your head down at night, when out 'n' about in the city all day. Great for students, or travelers on a budget!! ~Oh, not to […] forget, I paid for a 2 single bed room, and they upgraded me to a double-double ... just because they had it available!! :) Lisez la suite

For the money - not bad. I was on the 4th floor - with no elevator - so be prepared. Bed was HARD - and the street noisy.

Shabby hotel, but a great location. Lots of nice restaurants nearby.
Spotty internet service. Very small room, bit price was right. Liked free computer and tea in lobby. Nice reception at hotel.
"Stayed At worse places for more money! Not too bad"
I've read all of the negitive reviews but for the money in New York City I can't complain. The staff was friendly. The room was small, spartan but clean. Yes the bed was very firm but it was bug free!

"New World Hotel in Chinatown"
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms are tiny, the beds are uncomfortable, the TV didn't work. All the rooms have drop ceilings, so noise and light from surrounding rooms easily come through. We could clearly hear people talking from 4 rooms down the hallway. The housekeeping staff starts very early in the morning and makes a lot of […] noise. Overall, I was very disappointed in the stay. Especially for the price. I know it's NYC, but this was ridiculous.
