Plim Plaza - Ocean City

The Plim Plaza's location is perfect, we stay here every year. On the plus side: great location, awesome pool, pool bar and live music! Rates are pretty low if you book through anywhere other than the hotel's site. Negatives: The rooms are small and I'd love to have bigger beds. Housekeeping merely made our beds and replaced the towels, they didn't […] "clean" anything. Parking is a challenge but works if you are patient enough to wait for someone to move. Hotels.com didn't offer all the dates I wanted and I cut my vacation short a day to avoid paying a lot more for the same room through the hotel. Its not high class luxury, but serves the purpose!!! We stayed for 2 nights. I liked the pool and cabana bar. The hotel itself was older but the location on the boardwalk is nice. They have a porch facing the boardwalk where there is a coffee shop which was nice in the morning. When we go back I will try another hotel if we stay longer. You get what you pay for. This Hotel was right on the boardwalk close to amusement park and beach, and must see sights. The room was clean but we did not have a good view. Our last 2 evenings there we could hear alot of walking and jumping on the floor above us. No iron or ironing board avaliable. Otherwise this was a nice hotel.

The parking sucks big time!! To many kids allowed in one small room making lots of noise. The air conditioner was very stinky. but what do you expect from a century old building. The towel guys was carrying the towels on a cart, he hit the wall and all the towels hit the floor. Thank god it was my last day, hate to think that would have been my towel. […] But for the price and location, it's not so awful. People could be more friendly Lisez la suite

location, location, location

this hotel was a mistake!! parking was a nightmare, staff was really annoyed when i checked in and lazy. my sideview room was of the concrete wall of hotel beside us. we had to prop window up with a hanger just to open the window! my daughter's bedroom was bigger than our room. not to mention it was "senior week" so we couldn't even take our daughter […] to the pool because of all the partying, and this partying went on almost all night. the hotel needs major maintenance!!!! dark dingy hallways and stinky smells. NOT A FAMILY HOTEL , would be great if i was 18 with no chaperones and wanted to party. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Lisez la suite

From the bathroom in the hotel lobby to the room assigned to us it was stinky! When we arrived they didn't even have our reservation! That was a bit aggrivating. Then we when we arrived on our floor to out of the elevator the smell of a combo of marijuana and alchol was potent. It didn't help that room smelled like a smoke out room. Upon checking in I was asked to pull my email up on their computer to verify my reservations, even though I had a print out copy. My husband and I were practically the only people staying in the hotel and they tried to put us in a room facing the building wall next to us only 10 ft. away. After asking to be moved we were put in a room over looking the […] back fo the pool shack that held the chemicals for the empty pool and 3 empty hot tubs. 8:00 am a faulty fire alarm went off. The greatest part of the hotel is the location. Room was clean and just as expected for the price. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful.

Good accomodations for the price. Positives first: Although the room was small, it was clean and quiet at night. The pool and hot tubs were fabulous and not too crowded (I must mention that we went during the week). I spent my evenings at the pool bar listening to live music which was the ultimate relaxation. Now onto the negatives: The double beds […] didn't work well for the 3 of us. We had to call maintenance to unclog the bathroom sink and to fix the cable. However, we weren't in the room for the majority of the vacation. If you are looking for 5 star accomodations, of course this isn't the spot for you, but if you are looking for a decent place to stay at a very reasonable cost, Plim Plaza is it! This hotel is good for the money staying on the boardwalk. There is no parking at the hotel, you have to park like 4 blocks away, but you can unload your vehicle at the hotel. It advertises that there are 3 restaurants. They are NOT in the hotel, they are close by. The rooms were smaller than a normal motel/hotel room. Hotel was kinda outdated. But […] the hot tubs by the pool were nice and the pool was a good size. At night they had a local band playing by the poolside bar which was really enjoyable! We would stay again. Very close to all thing you like to do at beach.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room, very convenient location. Rooms are far from sound proof, can hear most activity in hallway so I wouldn't stay here if peace and quiet are what you're after. I don't do a lot of traveling, but this was a special trip for a good friend's wedding. To not have an iron available was extremely troubling. I could have rented a house on the water with all amenities for the same price I paid for this hotel cubicle. Also, by brand new car was damaged in the hotel's parking lot.

I've never felt the need to write a hotel review before (good or bad), but this time i will make an exception. My teenage daughter and I stayed at this "resort hotel" for only one night -- thank goodness that was all it was. I read some bad reviews for the hotel but i rememer a friend of mine staying here with his family about thirty years ago and at […] the time it seemed like a really nice place. Well, apparently times have changed! The free parking was a plus, i will give them that. There are limited spaces attached to the hotel itself, but the overflow lot for guests is still close. We got a good space right at the hotel. So far, so good. And then we went inside. The lobby smelled like a porta potty (my daughter's words, but oh so true). We were able to check in about an hour early (i have a feeling now that they can start cleaning the rooms early, as i doubt anyone sticks around here longer than necessary). On the way to our room, we noticed the floor was lumpy in some spots and spongy in others. Not a good sign. To get into our room, we had to step over some rolled up carpet that had been ripped out of an adjoining room. (I'm thinking for mold, but at least one room in the place is getting an upgrade). Upon entering our tiny room, we were hit by the foul stench of mildew. It was at this point that the feeling of "you gotta be kidding me" began. The walls of the room were unnaturally bare for a hotel. Maybe they could go next door to the Ocean Gallery and get some cheap prints? There were numerous scuff marks on the walls. The bare wooden door had some paint marks on it, like someone cleaned their brush off there. The lone chair in the room was peeling paint. The bathroom was about the size you find on a camper, and had a smell equally disturbing -- but different -- than the room itself.
