Hotel Burgess - Reedley

l'hotel est tres jolie et le decor est de tres bon gout, beaucoup de vieille babioles et de truc surement déniché dans des vide grenier mais pour ce qui est d'un hotel de passage avec deux valises et une glacciere cela devient compliqué car pas de table et a peu pres 1.5 metres de passage autour du lit sinon cet hotel et jolie et on dort bien mais surtout […] pas un hotel de passage pour un ROAD TRIP. The hotel is in an old building which has been beautifully restored. The building and the antiques inside it are fascinating. We stayed here on our way to Kings Canyon (about an hour away). The hotel staff was very friendly, and ready to help us make the most of our visit to the area. The temperature was in the 90's the day we stayed there, and the […] window air-conditioning unit was greatly appreciated. We also had a few minutes to walk through the downtown area before the stores closed for the day. The merchants were very friendly and welcoming. Reedley is a beautiful town. The Hotel Burgess gave us a free room upgrade upon our arrival as well as a coupon for a complimentary upgrade for a future stay. We would definitely stay here again. Lisez la suite

Really neat historic hotel on the California Fruit Trail not far from the outdoor activities of the Sierra National Forest. Only complaint is that the free wi-fi did not work in the rooms farthest from the lobby, but this could be solved if the hotel set up a repeater. You can always sit in the comfy lobby to catch the wifi.

The hotel was lovely and charming. The hotel staff was wonderful! I stayed in room 9, which was cute, but incredibly small! I barely had room to move. If I had stayed in one of the rooms where there was more walking or showering space even, I think I'd have liked it more.

The Hotel Burgess is a beautiful old Hotel with many antiques but a great bed and bath. EXCEPT. The first problem is that the owner/manager did ot tell us that Christmas music would play outside our room all night. We could hear it's penetrating sound the whole night. Another obnoxious noise was a street cleaner who moved in about 4:30 AM and went up […] and down the street several times. What sort of capped everything off though is that the shower had no hot water. Sigh. Lisez la suite

The hotel is so adorable. The staff of 3 that we saw everyday was very friendly and helped us with any questions we had. It’s probably the closest you can get to the Sequoia National Park without actually staying inside the Park. The town is tiny, and lined with farmland of corn, grapes, and lots of other trees. The house cat is very friendly and doesn’t […] care if you walk by him or stop and give him pets. Every room is designed differently and we loved that if the room wasn’t in use, the door was open for us to look in. The whole place is like a giant antique shop as everything in there is for sale. We stayed in room 18, it had a perfect king bed, flat screen inside a beautiful cabinet, lots of space, two sky lights (one in room, one in bathroom), big closet, and great size bathroom with two sinks. My only disappointment was the shower. The shower itself was a standard size, the glass doors made it seem a little small though, and the shower head had practically NO pressure. I have thick hair so it was really hard to for me to even rinse out the shampoo, which made my showers twice as long. The AC is a little tricky though. When it was on at night I’d have to cover with a sheet, but once it turned off I almost immediately got hot and had to throw the sheet off me. Tried having the fan on one night but it was the same outcome. I guess the place just retains heat very well since it was about 100 during the day. My boyfriend does like that they are green-friendly and have energy efficient light bulbs and a 1.6 gallon toilet instead of the wasteful 3-5 gallon toilets that other hotels have. They also point out that a lot of water is wasted washing clean towels and ask that you use your towels more than once, which we were fine with. The comforter on the bed was possibly the softest, fluffiest, best thing we’ve ever felt. We wanted to take it home with us. A hotel being restored by the owner with some super antiques. Limited choice of restaurants in the area as the hotel cafe was not open. Owner very helpful but room was quite small and a loud train passes at about 3am.

Nice old hotel with modern amenities and a very friendly staff.

I got one of the 'Leader' rooms and just loved it's appearance and decor. The bed was very nice and comfortable, bathroom was shower only which is perfect for me as I'm not a bath type person. My only complaint doesn't come from the hotel but from the noisy type vehicles driving by. I was awaken a few times by hot rod cars going to a diner close to […] the hotel and a fool on an Harley who had no baffles in the mufflers. I'd go there again if the opportunity presents itself but next time I'll stay in the non Leader room instead. Lisez la suite

From home made cookies, to the hotel's resident cat, to the staff and owner, it couldn't have been a better experience. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our tour of the hotel. It's antique furnishings combined beautifully with modern amenities. A great jumping off point to the nearby national parks.
