Our stay at Killkenny River lodge was great. The room was large and comfortable (a little warm) but we were able to open the windows to let fresh air in. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent and clean. Breakfast was wonderful with a great variety of food and the restaurant had a fabulous view of the river and castle. Kilkenny is a lovely […] city to walk around. It has a village atmosphere and everyone is friendly. There are plenty of pubs to go to of an evening and most of them have live Irish music and even Irish Dancing which was a real treat. The swimming pool and sauna were a disappointment.Did not enjoy the afternoon carvery,service was poor and food average.because of this we did not dine in the restaurant in the evening as intended. The rest of the of our experience in the hotel was positive. Great location with nice rooms.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 one night and wish we would have had more time. It is a great location and the hotel was very nice. My only complaint was that they did not provide a hair dryer. Other than that, it was a great hotel with very kind staff. We highly recommond this hotel!

The hotel is off the street so less noisy and very comfortable country-style hotel with a riverside section. No disturbances in the building either but I did wear earplugs. Room was very clean and comfortable although the shower was poor and the disabled toilet was not clean. Very close to everything including the train station. The only real fault I could find with the room was the temperature, it was too hot and no air conditioning. There was however an electric fan which came in very useful. I can only imagine it would have been very uncomfortable in summer.

The Kilkenny River Court hotel is in a perfect location right in the middle of town and across the river from Kilkenny Castle with great photo views from the dining area. Parking was also very convenient for the hotel - but watch carefully for the sign as it comes up immediately after crossing the bridge. Staff was helpful. The Kilkenny Rivercourt hotel commands an enviable setting over looking the river and castle, in the heart of the city. Excellent levels of service throughout stay. Yummy breakfast. I will definitely be returning.

Not for the young but more for the old. Internet in room doesn't work unless you are prepared to be standing in the hall way. Thin walls and dingy carpets. Decor is not 21st century. All see better days.

I think that a hotel that in incapable of serving a guest with 2 slices of toast within 15 minutes after they started their breakfast late, is not one that should be catering to business travellers. Good location, relatively unsafe way into the hotel from the road though given that there is no separate are for pedestrians and cars and it is quite narrow. […] Early finish for a restaurant and leisure centre as well I thought. Our stay in this hotel was wonderful. The rooms were clean, the food in the restaurant was very good, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The lovely shopping area of Kilkenny is within a two minute walking distance which was highly advantageous as my mother has mobility problems. Love the location. There's a beautiful waterside walkway that starts across from the hotel. Go over the bridge and turn left. An alternative on the hill above (access near the end of the walk) leads you back. The food was good, but I'd give it a 3.5 or 4, instead of five.

We have stayed at the Rivercourt in the past but were disappointed to see how much it has gone down. The Rivercourt boasted having a chef from the Q.E.2 in the past, but he must have set sail again as the food this time was not up to the usual standard. Breakfast was really awful on both mornings, the food was cold and greasy with no hot option for […] anyone who doesn't eat meat apart from cold scrambled eggs. when a guest asked if there was any more fruit salad as the bowl was empty the waitress brought out a bowl of apples and oranges and plopped them where the fruit salad had been (i couldn't help but laugh!) Dinner wasn't much better, although it was Valentines night and they were busy... we had to ask twice for our desert, sorry Rivercourt -your no longer worth the money!! Lisez la suite

Nice hotel very good front line staff throughout hotel. No problem parking. Swimming pool opening hours could be listed when advertising hotel facilities as they seem very restricted.

The rivercourt is in the centre of kilkenny and is very convenient to all shops and pubs. It has a great leisure centre and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. The service at the Breakfast in the morning is also very good.

We had a lovely few days in Kilkenny, the hotel was fine, I do have to say that the heat of the room made it very uncomfortable. This was with the radiator turned off. Had to leave windows open all night in order to try and get some air to circulate.

Almost everything wonderful. BUT didn't think we should pay for parking. €5 very little but it's just the general idea of it. Secondly heat in room was excessive, difficult to sleep, no air conditioning.

Second stay for the Ploughing and worth the few extra minutes driving to the show. From all accounts it was better to travel to Kilkenny than Waterford. Location is convenient for eating out, although bar food was excellent. Pool is nice - but remember to bring a hat as you'll have to buy one if you don't.

This was probably our favourite hotel on our stay in Ireland. Location is great, right in Kilkenny, with the view of the castle. Great for touring the surrounding area. There are many nice restaurants neaby. Hotel is clean. Double room was spacious. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a treat.
