Evolution - Whistler

We (two adults) traveled to Whistler for a ski trip and chose Evolution because of price, location and amenities. In general, I'd say Evolution is a very good choice if you want the amenities (e.g. daily housekeeping) and privacy of a hotel that you don't necessarily get by renting a condo, but still want a good amount of space for the price. That said, […] it's not as put-together as higher-end hotels and the hotel management group could afford to polish a few small rough edges, as the prices are not so inexpensive that some of Evolution's quirks can be overlooked. The good: Located in the Creekside area of Whistler, Evolution is a short, easy walk (5 minutes) to the Whistler (base) Gondola and within walking distance of restaurants and stores, which was very convenient. It's a fairly new property, so nothing was worn or dated (although the elevators were oddly slow-moving.) Our one-bedroom suite was a nice size with a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, fireplace, well-stocked (e.g. dishes, cups) kitchen, and washer-dryer, which came in very handy. The heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch. We also took advantage of the free in-room wi-fi. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and were very helpful with answering questions and making dinner reservations. Con's: Evolution has a great location in Creekside, but if you want to be more in the thick of things/more action/things to do in the evenings, then you have to go to Whistler Village, which requires taking a bus/cab or driving over. (This may not be a con, per se, but more of a matter of personal taste.) The hot tubs were ridiculously clorinated (although I suppose that's to be expected with a public hot tub). A few room/service quirks: 1. We could not regulate the temperature in the room. Even without turning on the fireplace, our room was always really warm. Hotel room was modern and clean. Lots of nice amenities and full kitchen. 5 minutes walk to Creekside chair. Would definitely go back again given the chance.

Evolution exceeded all our expectations. The 2 bedroom suite was spacious and tasteful and the huge deck with access from one bedroom equiped with an outdoor fireplace was spectacular. All the appliances were top notch and the housewares were abundant and well appointed. The outdoor facilities - pool, two hot tubs, steam room and sauna were fabulous […] and very clean. We were traveling with 4 kids and we could not have been happier to be close to the gondola, shops and services. We will be returning to Evolution Feb. 2012!! Lisez la suite

We liked that this hotel wasn't in the Village. It was beautifully appointed and generally very comfortable, but we had a hard time adjusting the temperature of the room -- either too hot or too cold. Bathroom was lovely, but shower too low pressure. Washer & dryer were a wonderful mid-trip convenience. Kitchen had everything we needed and more.

Evolution is an extremely well planned hotel. The decor, the bed, fireplace, and especially the bathroom helped us relax and enjoy. The free parking was appreciated.

We stayed in one beadroom suite, this is a brand new facility with fully furnished kitchen. Chech-in was an issue, we had to go to the hotel next block. Will defiantly stay there again.

Hotel was very good value. Large rooms, good ammenities. All the items you need for cooking, pots, cutlery, washer, dryer etc. All items of very good quality. You have to be prepared to take a 10 minute cab ride into the village though. I would definetely stay at this location again!

I dont usually write this kinda review but this hotel deserved to have good reviews.

The property lived up to all the expectations that we had in finding the perfect combination of style, comfort and value. We were a little concerned about the Creekside location as I had been to the area about 5 years ago. The recent addition of a "mini village" with all the amenities was an absolute bonus without the hustle and traffic in the Whistler […] village. As a self-contained, unit our only issue was that some of the former guests may have cleaned some of the utensils a little more thoroughly. We stayed at the Evolution in Whistler, Creek side. Family of 4 with 2 young children. Highly recommended. 1 bedroom suite, very comfortable, high-end appliances, good value. Quiet part of Whistler at Creek side. Only a 3 - 4 minute drive to Whistler village. Would definetly stay again.

The room was very nice - spacious and very clean. The tub was fantastic!

Our room was very nice - it had a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a comfortable bed and an immaculate bathroom. The pool and fitness room were also quite nice. Considering the price, this hotel exceeded my expectations!
