"Fantastic Location"
The room was laid out well, amazing bathroom, comfortable bed. There was also a sofa, TV & tea service (in the sliding wardrobe) - but none of these were used. Breakfast was delicious. Very clean, with excellent service all round. Scenery was beautiful, very tranquil. Would be easier for people with access to a vehicle. Overall - excellentAvis véridique Hotels.com
"comfy beds"
A bit disappointed to find that we were staying in 1960's? extension and not actually the 17th Century Inn The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellentAvis véridique Hotels.com
"great romantic break"
wasn't easy to find as the roads were single track and there was a long diversion because the road into the village was closed, but as with all treasures was worth it. the bathroom was WOW with a double jaccussi bath! there was no hairdryer though and we had forgotten to take ours. staff so friendly and food excellent. definately recommended.Avis véridique Expedia
"Dissapointed"
Staff were not terribly well organised. Room was cold. Late for my meeting in the morning, because they didn't expect me for breakfast at 08:00 in the morning. Took 1/2 hour for me to receive any breakfast at all, then had to wait for the waitress to get the receptionist out of bed for me to pay my balance on leaving at 08:45. Hotel was well out of […] the way, with 90% of my journey on a single track road with passing points. A stretch of the single road was even closed, due to road subsidence, but no diversion in place to get round it, so had to gingerly drive round the various subsidence points. Don't go, unless you are a walker, and like a challenge. Have already booked into the local Holiday Inn for my next trip, which is cheaper on Hotels.com Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

"Wonderful quiet get away!"
A wonderful friendly family atomosphere. Great food served from Breakfast to Dinner. All food was delicious (especially the Bacon wrapped Chicken stuffed with Welch Cheese). A comfortable, homey room with a georgeous view of the beautiful pastures. We would recommend this quaint Inn to anyone looking for a quiet get away. Truely a gem!Avis véridique Expedia

"GET REAL"
I had a business meeting in Rhyl and wanted something a little more real and local rather than just another chain hotel. I think if you read all the reviews and pick the middle ground you will just about get it right! Nice room (11) friendly staff, food good, position nicely rural ( not as bad as some suggest) plan your journey through Henllan and the […] roads are fine. The locals talking in Welsh is really cool. The dining room needs a bit of a makeover but it’s not the end of the world!! Would I stay again, yes Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"The Hawk and Buckle Inn"
Initially difficult to find - thank goodness for the Sat Nav, but worth the journey along the narrow lanes. Excellent room, clean and everything available that we needed. Quiet location, nice atmosphere in the bar for a relaxed drink in the evening. Flexible breakfast times which was good, and the owners were very friendly. Nice welcoming Inn, worth […] a visit. "Lovely Inn"
we recently stayed at the hawk and Buckle, although there are some country roads to drive through to get there is is well worth the effort. The staff are all very freindly and helpful and the atmosphere is compltley laid back. The food they serve at breakfast and dinner is second to none, the quality is exceptionally high, we enjoyed every single meal […] we ate there. "very friendly, relaxed hotel."
The hotel if off th beaten track and if you are looking for other life around this hotel is not for you. It is in a small village with very friendly locals. We ate in the hotel for four nights and the local football team were in one evening. Their behaviour, manners and politeness was exemplary and reflects on the whole village. This friendliness and […] politeness we found ran through both the owners and the staff who made our stay very welcoming and pleasurable. The rooms are clean and well fitted out; the jacuzzi was a great relief after a days walking. Most rooms also have good views out across to sea. The menu is not the largest but the food and its quality is excellent; the service was also good. The only criticism I would have would be a bigger selection of real ales! Thursday night was quiz night which is run by the owner's son; I have to say it was a great evening with plenty of banter from both guests staying at the hotel and the locals. All I would say here - 'is a mosquito an animal?' Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia

"Hawk & Buckle - poor attitude"
The attitude of the staff (I think the 2 young men in question may also have been the owners) let this place down badly. It wasn't a good start. When i checked in the young man who showed me to my room watched me struggle along behind him with my bag. We ordered an 8am breakfast to accommodate an appointment but they forgot and because the kitchen […] staff didnt arrive till 8.05am we only had time for coffee and toast. I was then kept waiting 15 minutes to check out - and when someone did arrive he looked like he'd just got out of bed. He struggled to get the right expenses for us and i had to remind him of the meal we needed to pay for (the meal had been very nice and the young boy who served us was very attentive). I informed him that we hadn't had our early breakfast, and that i had been waiting 15 minutes to check out. There wasn't a single apology from him....mistakes happen, but a genuine apology goes a long way in correcting them - their poor attitude is the reason why i would not recommend this hotel. "The Hawk and Buckle Inn"
An old 16th century coach hotel with all rooms beautifully restored. Good location close to Llandudno. The owners and thir sons are very nice, helpful people and food is good. Only complaint and a reasonable o e, our bed had roll together which doesn't, make for a good sleep.Avis véridique Hotels.com
"Fantastic room, great little historic hotel"
This hotel is priced on the low end for northern Wales but the value is spectacular. 1st class room, VIP luxury gigantic whirlpool bath (room for 4), fluffy bed, fancy bedding, super-friendly staff, reasonably priced pub & restaurant, all in the middle of nowhere. Stay here - you won't regret it!Avis véridique Hotels.com
"The Hawk & Buckle"
On arrival we were shown to the room but no information given regarding meal times . There was also no information/leaflets around the hotel about places of interest or things to do. Everything was very laid back and relaxed. The breakfasts and evening meals were exceptional and brilliant value for money. Staff were happy to help if asked. We enjoyed […] our stay here. "Hawk & Buckle, Llanefydd"
We had an excellent time at this Pub! It was clean, comfortable and all the staff were extremely friendly and eager to ensure all the guests had the most out of their stay. The highlight of the hotel was definitely the fod, dinner and breakfast both outstanding! The village itself is tiny and in the middle of beautiful picturesque countryside. No […] night life, but perfect for relaxing and taking up the wonderful surroundings. Just a short drive from many attractions, we stayed here and made it to Portmeirion, Llandudno, Conwy Bay & Castle and all around Snowdonia (and up the mountain!) easily. Not too far from the base of Snowdon, we found it easy to drive over there and back in a day and make it back in time for a shower and dinner. It took us a little under an hour to get to the car park taking it easy on the roads. Would recomend this place to anyone! It was Fab!! Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
"Delightful B&B in the Welsh countryside"
Very friendly, warm and welcoming hotel, nothing luxurious but everything you need. Located in remote welsh hills, I had a bit of trouble finding it, but it was worth the drive on centuries-old country roads. Will stay again and definitely recommend.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"Hawk and Buckle Inn, North Wales-A Dream Come True"
With views to the ocean from our thoughtfully appointed and comfortable room in a quiet rural setting, we found The Hawk and Buckle Inn to be a perfect place to rest and revive from our travels. The owners and staff were genuinely welcoming and very friendly. We enjoyed drinks at the bar chatting to the locals and the meals served in the restaurant […] were excellent. We highly recommend staying at the Hawk and Buckle while exploring the beautiful natural beauty of North Wales and the many historical sites. We'll be back!!! Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
"A gem"
What a lovely place. The room had a large window and the owners had thoughfully provided a pair of binoculars to look at the North Wales coast and the countryside between. The bed was extremely comfortable which cannot be said of many hotel beds. But it was the bathroom that was impressive; a double bath with a jacuzzi jets, so relaxing after a long […] drive. We ate in the restaurant that night. A good menu with both traditional choices and modern english cuisine. The next day the breakfast was good and filling. Our checkout was handled quickly and efficiently settling up for dinner the previous night. O I nearly forgot, it serves good beer. They had Celebration Ale from Conwy Brewery on. "Home from Home"
A lovely Inn, hosts Rod and Helen made us feel welcome and if not for the bar in the living room we could be at home. Food was good and cooked breakfasts divine, Although a secluded little village it made a welcoming base for visiting sites of interest in North WalesAvis véridique Hotels.com
"De kan lave mad!"
Det var hyggeligt at være på en rigtig gammel kro, med de plusser og minusser det fører med sig. De kan også lave mad: 2 gange var maden bare supergod! Det lidt svært at komme dertil. Man skal være forberedt på meget smalle veje med høje hække på hver side. Men det betaler sig!Avis véridique Hotels.com
