We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We walked down to the Beach Place and ate dinner. Nice area with lots of places within walking distance.

If two or more people share the king bed rooms, need to be aware that there is no privacy between bedroom area and bath. This is a great place to go if you're looking to get away from it all, literally. We took a taxi to a local mall, and it took an hour and cost $65 each way! But that was fine because we were looking for some R&R time. The hotel is right across from the beach and not very crowded. Everything is very convenient. The service is great, everyone introduces […] themselves and is willing to do what you ask. Super convenient to rent a car ON SITE -- they will bring it to you at the hotel so you don't even have to arrange it beforehand. The only things that I have to complain about are: 1. The cleaning service. We only had our room cleaned once in a 3 day stay (by choice) but when they came they did not do a great job. There were stains on the cups -- they didn't replace them. We also asked for an extra set of toiletries since there were two of us, but they did not leave them. 2. We asked for a late check out because we had a spa appointment after the checkout time, but they wouldn't give it to us until we convinced them that we would still be spending money at the hotel. Beautiful amenities and great surrounding restaurants.

This hotel is highly over rated .. rooms are pricey and small .. the balcony doors do not close .. the deck above the pool which was in front of my room, was covered in cigarrette butts and trash from the punks throwing them off their balconies at night .. food is outrageoulsy over priced, too far from walking anywhere to to do anything other than the […] beach .. never stay there again .. horrible .. 30 bux to park a car on top of, on top of .. price gouging for a cheesy room .. could have had same deal at the Ritz, a far better property in my humble opinion .. This is a beautiful, contemporary hip hotel. They have a great lobby area( the living room), spa (bliss) , and everyone was helpful and courteous.

The W Fort Lauderdale is an exceptional hotel. I can't say enough good things about the staff. And the staffing levels were always such that it was never a long wait for help, a drink, food, etc. Friendly, attractive, and plentiful, the staff is a major asset to this resort/hotel. The facilities are top notch. A modern style building, decor, and ammenities. […] Everything was clean and in place. The main pool was terrific. The exercise room had all the best equipment. The rooms wer fun - but be aware of the full-glass shower. Not the place for kids and adults to stay in the same room - nor two friends sharing a room. Location was terrific as it was only a quick walk across the street to the beautiful beach. The beach set-up might be my only area of complaint. It was a charge per chair plus an extra charge for an umbrella. Also, when we got to the beach later in the afternoon they were out of towels. So I suggest you bring along a beach blanket and get towels from the pool before going over. The onsite resaurant, Steak 954, may have been the best meal I've ever had. Terriffic crab cake appetizer. AMAZING porter hous steak I split with my wife, the best Cuban coffee I've had, and great service. Our server, Autumn, was warm and prompt. She came over to us on Sunday when we were back for breakfast to say hi. A short 3 - 4 block walk south takes you to many different shopping and restaurant options - but don't waste your time leaving this hotel. Night club Whiskey Blue was fun, but the "Living Room" area seemed to be even more popular and vibrant. My wife and I loved this hotel and hope to be back soon. I had to go to three different rooms to find one that was acceptable. Rooms were not cleaned well, the Ipod Radios were all broken, shower curtain had mold/mildew on it, glasses were not replaced on second day, no coffee pot, Mirror coming out of the wall, lighting is terrible in the rooms, the bathroom situation (glass door that does not seal and there […] is no vent) is horrible. A very nice hotel with great rooms and pool area. European modern interior. Missing a bridge over the boulevard, for easy beach access.

SUper Location, friendly and attentive staff, food @ Steak 954 is great. Beach chairs/towels are available (City of Ft Laud) but not through the hotel, so you have to pay $10/chair $5/chair pad $20/umbrella. Towels are free through the hotel. We had a spa girls weekend July 31-August 1st.Check in was smooth,room service delicious,room spotless,ac perfect,view great,spa service AWESOME.The only problem was we stayed on the 19th floor and it would sometimes take 10-15 minutes for an elevator.Also the pool on Saturday gets so packed-people lay there towels down and leave we could not find a […] chair.Overall everything was great. Firstly, if you are traveling with young children, do not stay at this hotel!!! It is not kid friendly at all!!! It is geared to the young hip crowd. On the weekends, it's very crowded and noisy and you can be kept up all night by rowdy guests. The main pool area is very crowded but if you want a quiet pool they have a second smaller one. You should […] be aware that the beach is across the street and is a public beach. The chairs and umbrellas are operated by an outside vendor so you would have to pay for that. The elevators are very slow and we had to wait a while whenever we needed one. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful but I didn't see anything so great about the "whatever whenever" service. The decor of the room is nice but I've seen nicer. All in all, it was a nice hotel and the staff was friendly, but when you hear of a W hotel you expect it to be much nicer and exciting. It's not. The beach in South Florida is absolutely beautiful! The W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the scenery. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend both the W Hotel and hotels.com for any travel/vacation needs. It's well the money!

Excellent hotel... perfect spot for a relaxing vacation! Beautiful pool overlooking the ocean. Very comfortable accommodations! Very helpful and friendly staff. Stayed two nights last year, four nights this year. Hoping pattern continues and we stay 8 nights next year! Definitely at the top of our list!

I have one word The Best or two

Hotel and stay great as always. Valet staff is superb and quick. Front desk staff gets ruder and less friendly by the visit. Definitely needs improvement.

Front desk staff was abnormally rude this weekend. There was 2 new employees that were working upon check in and check out. Difficult attitudes to say the least. While the W is an upscale hotel, the staff and vibe was very down to earth. I have stayed at other upscale hotels where you always felt out of place or needed to be dressed up to fit in. This was not the case at the W. It was just about a fun place to stay. I have also never stayed at a hotel where the staff was as accomidating or friendly. Great Experience. Couldn't ask for a better hotel~

I booked this hotel based on a co-workers recommendation that lives in the area. The hotel was beautiful, the service in room was impeccable, but the front desk and service while private events were going on was horrible. Thursday evening there was a private party going on, which closed all the bars on the premises to only private invited quests. As […] a hotel guests we were treated like 2nd class citizens. Just to find a drink was near impossible during one of these events. Not very accomodating when we stayed at the hotel with all accomodations on premises. When we stated this to the front desk, the employee told us "O Well". The hotel is wonderful BUT it opens the pool area to the general public on Sundays and they allow the worse elements to be there with the guests. Complaining about it did not change their policy about it. Very dissapointing!

First of all, check in time is 3:00 pm. We arrived at 4:00 pm and had to wait 2 hours for the room to be ready. There was a party going on in the room across the hall and about 30 19-year-olds gathered in the hallway or going in and out of the room, talking on their cellphones, getting into arguments with each other and the best part of it was the music […] was so loud you couldn't sleep. We called the front desk twice between midnight and 2 am, they said they would come up. I don't know if they did, but finally we fell asleep after exhaustion and the use of ear plugs. I've stayed at other W Hotels that were great but this was like an out of control frat house. If you actually want to sleep do NOT stay at this W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale! Lisez la suite

The W hotel is over-the-top cool with its modern decor. From the see-through pool to the open-view shower, the W isn't like any other hotel. The only problem is everyone 21-28 wants to party there. We had to show proof that we were staying there each time we came back. The pool area was way too crowded with loud visitors. I wouldn't expect a hotel pool […] to need security guards. Reviews I had read about this hotel had me concerned about the service. I read that people felt that the staff were stuck up and snobby. I completely disagree. Everyone from the valet to housekeeping were over the top friendly and helpful. I was blown away by the staff. The one thing that I wasn't satisfied with was my room view. I had purposely chosen […] an ocean view room, not a partial ocean view room and I had paid more than the partial ocean view room. The room I was given had a less than par view of the ocean between two buildings and the majority of our view was of a parking garage. When I called the front desk to see if it was possible to move rooms, to a full ocean view, and I said i would be willing to pay more. They told me I already had an ocean view and that it was not possible to upgrade. My overall experience was a good one, the hotel is modern, new, and well designed. The pool was too cold for me. The hot tub was way too hot. And my view was a mild bummer. But I would still recommend the hotel. Just make sure you get what you pay for! Lisez la suite

I have been to this hotel on several occassions and only love it more and more each time I am there. The staff is friendly and courteous, and they cater to your every need. Hotel service was great - rooms were very clean had a great stay

The W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale was a beautlif hotel, as all W hotels. We arrived on a Saturday evening. The night club and lobby bar were in full swing. It was hard to head the person at the front desk. All the staff seemed a bit frazzled and disorganized. Once we got to our room the noise level was bearable. I find it annoying that the room had item […] scattered all over the room that you could use at an additional cost. I was cafeul not to drink, eat or take anything, as they take you credit card at check if for "incidentials". Somehow I was charged eight dollars for something. I would not stay in this hotel again. loved, loved The W !!

The W is a beautiful Hotel. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous... The staff is very friendly and helpful whenever you need something.I would with no doubt stay there again.. We had a wonderful experience.....
