Bénéficiant d'une situation idéale près de l'aéroport, dans le quartier de Mactan à Cordova, l'établissement ALTA Cebu Resort se trouve tout près de Fort San Pedro. La croix de Magellan et Basilique de l'Enfant béni se trouvent également à proximité.
Caractéristiques de l'établissement
L'établissement ALTA Cebu Resort possède un spa tout équipé, un port de plaisance sur place, une piscine extérieure et un centre de fitness. L'accès gratuit à Internet haut débit en Wi-Fi est disponible dans les espaces communs et un poste informatique se trouve sur place. "HOTEL ALTA CEBU"
Personnel adorable, décoration superbe, tout dans cet hôtel est fait pour que l'on s'y sente bien. Havre de paix et de zenitude ! Restaurant très bon et très abordable idem pour le Spa. Le propriétaire est soucieux de sa clientèle et n'hésite pas à venir à sa rencontre. En bref : n'hésitez pas allez y !

Below average hotel.
I am Larry, the owner of Alta. I try very hard to speak with every guest when my schedule will allow it to make sure things are as they expected. Most guests tell me that our reviews are very good and are the primary reason they chose us. Many repeat guests tell me personally that they prefer Alta to more expensive resorts they have stayed at. A lot of guests say they wish they knew how nice Alta was before they came. They told me had they not booked somewhere else (non-refundable), they would have booked their entire vacation at Alta. One prominent congressman who is a frequent visitor to Alta told our GM that Alta provides better service than one of the most prestigious resorts in Cebu. All of which makes me wonder how anyone could rate us below average.

There have been some negative reviews where guest would not say what is wrong, so I decided to reply to some of the inaccurate statements by past reviewers in this review. Since this guest did not say why they were not happy, let me highlight what the majority of happy guests like about Alta: 1. Alta resort has substantially improved during the past year including recently refurbished rooms. 2. Alta is the ONLY WESTERN OWNED AND OPERATED BOUTIQUE RESORT in Cebu; The owner of Alta often speaks with guests to be sure their expectations are met. 3. ALTA OFFERS MODERN CONVENIENCES & COMFORTABLE ROOMS. 4. Alta offers both peaceful relaxation and many activities. 6. Alta is very accessible and also the closest resort to Cebu. A few other facts about Alta which some guests may not be aware of: 1. Alta has a spacious AIR CONDITIONED RESTAURANT 2. Alta has 75 professionally trained, full-time staff 4. The resort offers a FREE BEACH SHUTTLE- nearest beach is less than 1 mile. 5. ISLAND & BEACH HOPPING is also available from Alta’s boat dock. 7. BUTLER SERVICE is a big advantage not available at other 4 star resorts in Cebu. Much better to have only one person accountable. 8. The only 4 star Cebu resort WHICH SUPPORTS AND PROMORES ECOLOGY AND VOLENTEERISM at the resort and in the community. 9. BETTER VALUE. More affordable than other comparable Mactan Resorts. At 5-star Cebu resorts guests will pay much higher prices for rooms and everything else, including things that come free at Alta.

The Alta Cebu resort is a very comfortable and clean resort. It has magnificent gardens and surrounds that give the place a tremendous sense of tranquility and quiet and serenety. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the restaurant is very reasonably priced with a good selection of meals. Its great to find a minbar that is well equipped and […] reasonabley priced Minibars in most hoels are so overpriced that i never touch them, but not so at Alta. The king size bed was wonderful and comfortableand the bathhroom was clean and spacious. The pool and surrounds were lovely and we swam in the pool everyday. The staff organized Jetskiing for us and it was an intoxicating experience. A very reasonably priced resort if you want a quiet lazy time with your partner, breakfast was included in the price and we had a wonderful relaxing time there. This is a very interesting place. A 3.5 star place in Cebu with rates that are very reasonable. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and attentive. It's more than just a hotel but keep in mind it's landlocked and located off the beaten path. Takes about 25min to the airport and about 40min to Cebu center. For those that don't mind the […] commute (the taxis are cheap enough in Cebu) it's a great place to stay. That said, it's going to cost you 400p each way every time you go to or from the resort. The pool and grounds are very nice. The food at the restaurant was fantastic but do expect to wait for upwards of 1 hour for just about anything you order. "out of the way get away"
Food was very good, rooms spacious and clean, well stocked, excellent staff. Massage prices high, only shuttle out goes at 9AM and must be booked ahead of time. Taxi back from malls or beach is around a half an hour fare. The nicer beach hotels that they will take you to charge a user fee that is quite high considering costs of other things in the country. "A Quiet Oasis"
ALTA is a beautiful resort located about 10 minutes from Lapu-Lapu City and about 20 minutes from Cebu City. My fiance and I were pleased by this quiet oasis. The grounds are clean and attractive, with plenty of shade trees and walking paths surrounding the buildings. The resturaunt is good, and the service is top notch. The owner is directly involved […] in the management of the hotel, and he is committed to making sure you enjoy your stay. The only drawback is that the resort does not have its own beach, but you can arrange shuttle service to visit one of the other nearby beachside resorts. "Positive reviews seem overrated"
Briefly - staff, as always in Philippines, very welcoming, polite, kind and hospitable. The hotel seems, however, seriously mismanaged. Expect dirty pool, expensive little restaurant, local TV stations only, erratic internet at best. The electric heater in the shower was not grounded properly, causing mild electric shocks. Considering its a 2-3 kilowat […] device, this could be potentially life-threatening. The aircon system is another failure. The moment you leave the room and take your key out of the wall socket, the aircondition goes off. That means +45 Celcius in the room when you are back, and at least an hour to cool it to 30. My two requests for the manager to contact me have been ignored. Location - remote, unsafe area on Lapulapu. Expect long taxi traveling time due to heavy traffic. Moved to Movenpick, where the price was twice as expensive but the quality of stay tenfold higher. If you are in Cebu to relax, stay away from the Alta place. Lisez la suite
When I read this review I wonder if he is talking about another resort. During the time this guest was here, we hired an HRM professor / consultant who did extensive training of our staff. In recent months, 2 commercial airline pilots, a cruise ship captains, several high end chefs and other industry professionals gave the highest praise to our resort. They were so impressed, they promised to return. Guests say our prices are reasonable and that our internet is better than most. Though other Mactan Island resorts have problems with the cable TV company, we are the only one I know of that offers free DVD movies. An engineer guest said our pool is perhaps the cleanest he has ever seen in the Philippines. Our restaurant is neither expensive or small. We hire only the best contractors for shower installation. The original contractor fixed the shower immediately and admitted their mistake. Electricity costs double or triple what it would cost in the developed world. If we allow guests to leave the AC running 24 hours, then we need to raise our rates-not fair to conservation minded guests. The highest temperature ever recorded in Cebu cant be much higher than 30, so 45 is a rather silly number. Is it such an inconvenience to sit in the air conditioned restaurant while the room cools? I am the manager/owner. This guest never tried to contact me. There are dozens of resorts on this side of Mactan Island, we are the closest resort to Cebu City. Does he really expect the same quality of resort for half the price? We offer good value, great food, & lots to do. Many rich people will stay with us, even if they say they can afford $1000 per night-attracted by our genuinely friendly staff.

I stayed at ALTA for 5 nights, the purpose of my visit was leisure and recreational scuba diving. I was impressed with the service I received upon arriving to the hotel with prompt check-in service, welcome drinks, and help to my room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decor was well- mismatched in an island-vibe sort of […] style. It felt like a very well maintained cottage. There was a laminated info sheet on the door detailing a few services and important information but I thought a small book or binder with hotel info would have been helpful and it could have included a menu for in-room dining. The room was promptly cleaned everyday and a very generous towel-changing service. I was very impressed in this regard as well as providing free drinking water on request. The hotel food was top notch which was welcomed as the surrounding area does not offer much close by for alternate eat-out places. I would say the food was the best part of my stay. The food is also very very fairly priced and they can cater the menu to your taste/likes/dislikes quite easily. The pool was fine , a bit small when there are children playing. The outdoor jacuzzi seemed tempting until I realized it was the same temperature as the pool. Internet was available throughout the resort without any problems as was fast enough to support basic email, web-browsing functions. Spa service was good- and they were able to fit me in very promptly. My service I received was professional and one of the better massages I have had. I was a little surprised after my massage to receive a home-made envelope written on in coloured highlither stating "tip envelope." I left a tip with no thought to it as my service was good- but I was also charged a service charge on my bill. It seemed as though this may not have been standard practice? My only complaint really about my stay is the delay at the front desk that seems to happen each night after dinner when the waitress has to leave the Lisez la suite

If your looking for a resort on the beach then this is not for you. Its a decent place to stay for the money. The staff is very friendly. The week we stayed the had just lost their chef so the food was pretty bad. They say they have a jacuzzi but it is not a jacuzzi.

It was my frist trip to the Philippines. I was coming to meet my fiance for the first time. Her and i spent several weeks reading reviews for our most anticipated meeting. We chose this hotel base only on the reviews written. Others were too expensive (over price), not good location, and bad reviews, specially on the staff. I am afraid of air travel,so […] getting there was an experience on itself. Beeing on a foreign country and not knowing the language, can be very intimidating. I was, but when I met my future wife I was content:but when I got to Alta , all intimidation went out the window. That's when my dream vacation started. I felt as I had been forgiving of my sin's and been allowed back to "The garden of Eden". This is a magical place, that will indulged you with their friendly staff, and flora surroundings. From the maintenance Jerome, to a relaxing massge with Ada, to the friendly ladies at the front desk ( eden,edna, blonde lady-sorry forgot your name ), to Marcos,the bartender, always keeping your drink full ( in my case Rum and Coke), to the GM, to the owner Larry, it makes you feel as if you were in pandora. If you have seen the movie Avatar, then you know what I am talking about.the place is magical. I felt in love with my fiance, thanks to the beautifull place and care I got from them. Everyone was very professional and kind. I booked my stayed for 15 days, but duo to personal reasons, i had to leave a few days early. The GM, was very understanding of my situation, that he worked it out , were we were both happy. Once again, this is a very delightfull place to stay. is away from busy city , and very relaxing. I took so many pictures and video of the hotel, is truly the gem of cebu. One thing for sure, all roads lead to Alta, because if you are staying somewhere else in Cebu, you will miss out on it's beauty and pleasant stay. "Nice place to relax"
I particularly like the shower, neat and reasonably spacious most importantly water heater is of the right temperature once turned on. The staff are friendly and . I feel very safe to travel around the resort as I travelled alone. I thought the food at the restaurant are pretty decent and tasty :)

The fact that the resort is foreign owned is re-assuring, as things seem to run more efficiently that way. Eden, the friendly lady at the front desk always has a warm smile and greeting and arranged for any small issues to be sorted out very quickly. This is a nice resort where you can relax and enjoy your time in Cebu.

Stayed at Alta Resort for 1 week in May and was very impressed with the way the staff made us feel as though we were part of their family ! We arrived early and were treated to a complimentary lunch. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was big, especially the shower. We loved the 24 hour pool, and the almost nightly poolside entertainment. We are most sincerely sorry that this guest did not find what they had hoped at Alta. We are in the middle of completely refurbishing all rooms. Most guests at other review sites give us a recommended rating.

Alta resort was built 5 years ago. Even so, we are in the middle of upgrading all rooms. As can be seen by room photos, our existing rooms (before refurbishing) are comfortable, clean and well kept. Refurbished rooms have new tile floors, new air conditioners, new furniture, fixtures art and accessories. Our deluxe and premium rooms are very nice. The standard rooms are not yet upgraded, but that is reflected in the price. This guest made no mention that our rooms are as nice as the competition and about 25% cheaper. If a guest has a valid complaint, I normally give a free upgrade to a deluxe or premium room or find them a room which has already been refurbished. Alta is the closest resort to Cebu and one of the closest to the Mactan International airport. Alta is about 25% cheaper than other equivalent resorts and we offer many things for free which need to be paid for at other resorts such as: frequent entertainment (cultural events, fire dancers, live music, fireworks, etc.) welcome drinks, free airport pick up shuttle, free shuttle to all beaches, wall climb, billiards, 7 Wi-FI hot spots, etc. We have 5 acres of beautiful gardens, a large restaurant and poolside bar, a very large pool, and Alta Dock with access to the ocean.

It seems odd that someone would not recommend a resort and not say why, since the main purpose of reviews is to give future guests an idea why the resort would be suitable (or not) for them. Being hands-on owner, I try to greet every guest when they arrive. I let them know that I am usually available (from 8 AM till Midnight) to listen and to solve problems when our staff cannot. I’m surprised that this guest did not look for me to voice his concerns. As with all resorts, some will love the place and others hate it. It seems to us that complainers like to complain, while happy people are too busy being happy to take time to write reviews. At least 90% of guests who I speak with recommend us- many enthusiastically. We plan to start sending out thank you notes to former guests in an attempt to get our satisfied guests to write more often.

This Resort is located in an area that makes you completely isolated to the hotel premisses. No matter if you are planning a trip to Philippines to explore the country or just to relax in a comfortable resort you should avoid this place. You will get much better value for money in other places.
Not sure exactly what this guest means by isolated: We are the closest resort to Cebu and one of the closest to the Mactan International airport. There are other resorts nearby. As to relative value, Alta is about 25% cheaper than other equivalent resorts and we offer many things for free which need to be paid for at other resorts such as: frequent entertainment, welcome drinks, taxi pick up at airport, free shuttle to all beaches, wall climb, billiards, 7 hot spots for Wi-FI, etc). We have 5 acres of beautiful gardens, a large restaurant and poolside bar, a very large pool, and Alta Dock which is on Alta Bay with access to the ocean. If there is even the slightest problem while a guest is here, they can look for me. I am nearly always around day or night.

The staff very friendly and helpful, some trouble with the water, but they solved it, the eletricity went out a couple of times, but they solved it quickly, free internet a big plus.
"Nice Hotel"
The hotel room was very clean and very presentable. The staff was very nice and helpful with every need and want that I had wanted and needed. The hotel's location and scenary was very nice to see and be in. The bad thing is that the water was non-potable but they provided bottled water. Had to take a cab to the beaches. The hotel was just ok, there are many things to learn here. One big problem is, NO TOURS PLANED,Also we eat dinner there one time, and we got the cheepest sandwich spred you can buy in the philippins. Also they need to do weekly inspections of the rooms, bugs, small ants, dead flys in window sills. Windows need to be cleaned desperatly. We have as many or more tours as other resorts. We have 8 popular tours, but since we do our own tours, we are also flexible and can design a unique tour when requested by a guest. We give many guided tours each week and guests compliment our friendly and informative tour guide. Almost every guest says our food is excellent. One recent guests is a chef at a upscale Washington DC restaurant that serves U. S. Senators and Congressmen. He says our food is excellent. A recent guest from Las Vegas who works at one of the big hotels in Vegas says he did not see one ant, fly, mosquito, bug, etc during the entire week he was here. Seems like this guest did not take the time to find out all that Alta has to offer. We normally give a guided tour of Alta when the guest first arrives so each guest can know all that is available. Perhaps this guest was too tired to take our tour. In fact, we offer more free things than any other resort I know of and at a price which is about 25% cheaper than similar resorts. Thanks for the comment about us being almost a 5 stas…though if we are that close to 5 stars, I am wondering why he does not recommend us. I live on site and try to greet each guest when they first arrive. If our staff cannot immediately address their need, I tell guests my door is always open

Certainly not your usual place. Rather than having a hotel room on a certain floor and wing, you are assigned your own little nipa hut (though it is attached to others, so there can be some overflow noise if your neighbors are in a partying mood). As such, they have a limited number of units, so I recommend making your reservations well in advance, […] especially during peak season. They have a private vehicle that (for a fee) can transfer you to or from the airport or other places, or can shuttle you to the local beaches. Again, reserve in advance. They offered a standard Filipino or American breakfast plate, limited but okay. They welcomed everyone in my party with a complimentary glass of juice. I had some interesting conversations with the monkeys in the mini zoo out back. Internet access worked sporadically. Staff were pleasant and helpful. "great escape"
The place looked like a lost episode of Fantasy Island. In a word it was beautiful. The staff was warm and friendly, and i'm sure if i needed anything special it would have been provided. I didn't get to stay my whole vacation, but the 2 days I spent there it was quiet and tranquil. If your looking for a place to just relax this is the place for you. […] Of course I was there durring the "off season" so I'm sure thats why everything felt... uh, "closed". Not much excitement feeling around the hotel. 조용함의 극치입니다. 단 지리적으로 쪽 떨어져 있으나 가이사노몰까지 가는 지프니 타고 다니면 괜찮다. 한국사람이 없다. 그래서 조요하게 즐길수 있다. 아침조식으로는 치킨죽이 괜찮다.

I have not heard of ants in our food before. Perhaps they were dining outdoors by the pool. Though we do spray around the poolside tables often, it is a little hard to control ants in an outdoor setting. Perhaps the guests went for a swim and came back to find ants. We spray throughout the resort once-more often if the guest requests. We try not to overspray for environmental reasons and comfort of guests. This guest says there is nothing near Alta. Actually we are actually the closest resort to Cebu city, there is a restaurant a short walk from Alta and there are a number of restaurants and resorts within a 1 mile radius. In Cebu, all resorts are spread out over a rather wide area. By driving a leisurely 15 or 20 minute drive on country roads, a guest can find many more attractions around Mactan Island such as many fine beaches, scuba spots, and historic attractions. Because this guest never voiced a complaint, we had no way to know that he was dissatisfied or misinformed about what to see or do nearby. When a guests tell us about a problem, we bend over backwards to immediately fix the matter and normally offer some free service or room upgrade as an apology, if we feel we were the cause of the guest’s dissatisfaction.

리조트에 도착하는 순간 반겨주는 직원들의 안내를 받고 편하게 쉴수 있는 리조트 입니다. 저녁때 레스토랑에서 시킨 투데이스페셜의 스테이크는 최고였고 무료조식 또한 괜찮았습니다.

Not the best hotel ever but not that bad... You get what you pay for... The food is not so good so and the bartender is not so good on making drinks... But the rooms were fine and clean and everybody were happy and helpful....
"Nıce Garden hotel"
Thıs ıs a nıce hotel.located ın a vıllage ın queıet suroundıngs. It have a swımmıng pool and a nıce garden and servıce and food ıs good !! It cost 250 pesos taxı to centra Cebu cıty ın day tıme and 500 pesos ın evnıng. But when you book thıs hotel,ıt ıs to get a good rest ın a stressy normal dayly lıfe ! I can recomand thıs hotel !!
"全体としては良い"
チェックイン時に1575ペソも追加でとられたこと以外では、なかなか快適でした。ただしレストランでは3回も違うウエイトレスでしたが、オーダーを間違えました。まあ記憶力は相当悪いし、オーダーを繰り返さないので問題ありです。
"周りにはなにもありません。"
周りには小さな商店すらないので、ほぼ全ての時間をホテルで過ごすなら楽しめると思います。 タクシーは呼ばないときません。 特別料金も取られるのでホテル代が安くてもトータルすると高くついたカンジです。
