Hyde Park Hotel - Tampa

The bed was not comfortable (pillows were like bricks), but the convenience factor outweighed that for us. The rooms are small but clean and the staff is friendly. Primary issue we had is that we were charged once by Hotels.com and once by The Hotel in Hyde Park.

Only problem there was no one to greet us had to go look for someone. Doors were lock no one answer the phone till monday after our visit

its all about location! this place is sorta "dumpy" but its in a great location

I was extremely impressed with the Hyde Park Hotel. This was quite possibly my favorite hotel stay. There was no staff on hand, which was different, but gave me the feeling that I was in my own apartment building in Hyde Park. PROS - The owner allowed us to stay past the check out time and check in was a breeze with their automated system. The hotel is convenient to what you need. Full kitchen. CONS - The hotel is old, shower is tiny, bathroom is outdated. A few bugs (insects) here and there. Water stains on the wood floor. Negative first-- was expecting a lot better place than it was, that being said I did come home one day and my door was open and unlocked with no one around. There was never anyone in the office to talk to about issues. Positive - had a full kitchen and never felt unsafe. No staff on hand, you call when you arrive. no biggie though, they were very attentive. Key in lockbox, due to the fact this is a SMALL hotel... maybe 30 rooms. I was very satisfied. Hyde Park is fun.

this 'hotel' is in a great location as it is right off howard in south tampa. the room was clean but shabby, threadbare towels, chipping paint, crappy mattress. if you are looking for a place to lay to your head late in the evening and get out early it'll do the trick, if you plan on spending some time on the room, keep looking.

This is an ultra cheap boarding house. The rooms were so small that I got vertigo thinking the floor was tilted. Booked for more then one day but left after the first night, would have left THAT night but nothing else was available. Europeans and hipsters may be OK with it but it didn't go over well for me and my wife.

chose this place for the location, since we planned to party at Berns and not drive. turned out good, checkin is unorthodox but efficient, room was lilliputian but very clean, saw no one but a nice cleaning lady on way out. this place is all about location, might try again.

Only stayed for one night, but would love to revisit and stay longer. Checking in and out - how convenient was that? Nothing to sign, nothing to wait for, a breeze! Quaint, clean, a kitchen, big screen TV....loved it all. And the neighborhood is beautiful, fun and alive! We chose this hotel based on the location and could not have found a better place to explore Hyde Park! The room was small, resembled an efficiency appartment, but the location was perfect. We walked up and down Howard, found too many restaurants too count, and loved being just steps from the hotel at the end of the night. We will be back every time […] we stay in Tampa! Lisez la suite

conveniently located near the airport, downtown Tampa and lots of good restaurants near by.

Picked the hotel for location and price. The room was very tiny, especially with two double beds crammed in there, but the quality of the tv was nice. The wall A/C unit did not work very well, in fact it never got cold enough in the room at all, and I noticed just before I left that someone had jammed a bunch of sunflower seeds in the unit - gross! Every […] time I came into the room it would have a sort of funk to it, but I never felt like it was unclean, just had an aged feeling to it. The towels were clean but felt a little old and dingy, the shower never got terribly hot, and the beds were supremely uncomfortable. However if you don't plan on spending much time in your room, this place is in a nice location with lots of restaurants nearby and was near the event which I booked the hotel for, very convenient but I would likely not stay here again despite the good price. We chose Hyde Park because it was near Bern's Steak House where we were attending a family dinner. The room was small but very comfortable. Very nice shower in the bathroom. We had no need of the kitchen. The personnel were friendly and helpful.

Great sample place close to everything you need, Berns steakhouse, best food in the city 3 blocks away.

Location is great. Hotel is quiet clean and easy to check in and out. The room is extremely small but has everything you could need. Its a great place to stay for one maybe two nights if you are going to be around that area.

The hotel location was great. But the rooms were tiny and the beds creaked and moaned.

Everything was prepaid. Never saw a soul. Arrangements were made to pick-up key and access room. Very clean, newly renovated. But no service and,no accommodations for people with handicaps. Great location. Heck Bern's steakhouse is in walking distance, as well as other more affordable restaurants and conveniences. Comfortable beds. Limited space. Internet […] access, kitchenette. A computer set-up on the second floor with internet access. No printer, but was able to check-in for flight and gain a good Southwest Air boarding position. This hotel is untraditional. You have to use the buzzer outside to check in. Your room key is in a lock box outside your room. You check out by dropping your key into a box. You will not get a receipt. There was a dead roach when I walked into my room. The AC was set on 60 but it did not get cool until the sun set. Some of the channels were static. […] This room is only big enough for one person or a couple. The hot water only got lukewarm. There is no tub. I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyde Park Hotel. The room was ready when I arrived, and my key was in a lockbox next to the door. The beds were comfortable and the TV was nice. I was able to hook up my PS3 to the TV which was a big plus because in most hotels that option is not available. Other than that I was very pleased, This is a great hotel, with staff that doesnt bother you early in the morning. Its located in a trendy area and is a good price. Das Hotel: Bin sehr zufrieden damit. Preis/Leistung würd ich sagen passt. Der Chef des Hauses war zuvorkommend und behilflich.. Lage: Viele Cafes,Tavernen,Bars innert wenigen gehminuten... Die Busverbindung nach Downtown lässt zu wünschen übrig vorallem am Abend
