This was my second stay at the Wingate Tuscaloosa. I enjoy the free breakfast buffet . This is an economical place to stay when visiting University students or coming in for a game. The room was comfortable and clean.

Bathroom was dirty. Mildew in the shower. Hair on the floor from previous guests. Definitely could have does better at a different hotel for the cost of this one.

Great hotel. Location is a bit out of the way from downtown Tuscaloosa but that's not a huge deal. Room was very spacious and well kept. There was only ever one person at the front desk which led to some waiting but they were always very pleasant and helpful. I would probably stay here again, especially when the price is discounted.

Great place to stay! The look and feel of the our room was very appealing, it even had hardwood floors. It was very clean too. They also have a good breakfast complete with eggs&bacon, potatoes, biscuits&gravy (besides the usual stuff). Friendly staff.

I love this hotel. Staff are all really nice and helpful. This stay however was a little lackluster. I stayed in room 512 and it had water damage that desperately needed repair. And the breakfast wasn't as well kept up as my previous stays. I definitely would stay there again but would request a different room if I was placed in that particular room […] again. The hotel and room was clean and had nice finishes throughout. We checked in very late and the night manager was cordial and helpful. The room was very spacious and homey. Bathroom was well lighted, which is important for putting on makeup or doing hair. Extra mirrors for checking your overall appearance (for business people), internet was great and complimentary, great bedding. I reserved this room based on reviews from other guests. We arrived late on a Saturday night. The hardwood floors were nice. Lots of debris around the baseboards but otherwise they were nice. The room was nicely furnished. Plenty of towels, etc. Unfortunately the reviews didn't mention that housekeeping begins yelling to each other and begin banging […] on your door at 8:00 a.m. Or that the front desk seems to think it's funny. Or that the culprits make snide remarks to you about waking you up early. Now I understand why the hotel parking lot was virtually empty at check in and at check out. I have stayed at several hotels in the area during football season. The beds in this one was by far the most comfortable. It is an extremely nice hotel and pet friendly which is always a plus for me. The location is a little out of the way. Overall a great stay!

I was frankly a little surprised by how nice my room was. Bathroom also very nice! Check-in and out was a breeze. This is a classy joint. I didn't explore the rest of the hotel so I can't comment on facilities or the breakfast.

Overall, the hotel met our needs for this trip. We stayed at this location after a Tennessee / Mississippi State football game a few towns over. The surrounding location didn't matter to us as much, because it was on the way back home. The hotel is right off the exit, so it's relatively easy to get to. It's about 5 minutes away from the University of […] Alabama, so this would be a good place to stay for Crimson Tide fans or visiting opponent fans. Our room was clean, the staff was relatively nice, the bed was comfortable, the tv isn't that great (the channels are fuzzy), and depending on which side of the hotel you stay on, one side looks out over a car junk yard (which isn't the greatest view). But in review, this was a safe and enjoyable place to stay. I would stay there again. Breakfast was so, so. Go for the waffles! Lisez la suite

I stayed four nights in the hotel. The first night was great. The second night was a little noisy. There was a family with kids in the room next to me. The kids were noisy - running in the hallway and knocking on doors. Totally out of control!. I think families with kids should be should be assigned the same floor. My stay was excellent but Hotels.com was less than accommodating.A situation prevented me from staying 2 nights and I called 24 hours in advance of second night. The Central America staff could not assist me and I was forced to call the manager of Wingate who was excellent in handling the situation,.

Compared to other hotels in Tuscaloosa, this Wingate is nicer. Other hotels "at this level" in the area are pretty run down and outdated but this hotel is updated and clean. However, they say they're a non-smoking hotel but they're really not. There are large ashtrays on either side of the front door so there's no way to avoid it. it is an OK hotel.I got a room on the first floor.hardwood floors. All the furniture was stained. Bed and Bathroom looked clean. The hallway was really dirty (Close to one of the side entrances)

This is one of those places Mama referred to as "nasty clean". As long as you don't really look, it is OK. Our room met us with a strong odor, maybe pet? IDK, but turning on the AC helped. One of the beds sagged in the middle and was very hard. Both of these things are deal breakers for me, hence the low rating. CONS? Six miles from the university. Easy access to the highway. Convenient and well lit parking. The rooms have a comfortable bed, pillows were soft and clean. Personell was friendly. It is a pet friendly hotel so our carpet had some stains, otherwise the room was clean. Very recommendable!

First of all, I booked a hotel room for 4 people. We only had 3 towels in the room. I think it is rediculous to have to ask for "extra" towels when there aren't enough in the room for the number of people booked. Also, apparently the air conditioner was leaking because the carpet in front of it was soaked. It was late when we arrived at the hotel & […] we didn't notice the wet floor until we had unpacked our stuff.
