"Hotel contillia Rome"
Very good location , good breakfast , good service.
to be recommed if you do not need anything else than central location (2minutes walk to Termini station and 10minutes to Coloseum) and low cost accomodation and a simple breakfirst. The Hotel is clean and the staff is welcoming.
"Hotel Contilia--convenient to important sites"
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to transportation and places that we wanted to visit. We were pleased with the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the well-appointed bath facilities (shower only). It is in the older center of town, so you are not near the "quality" shops. Our room was at the rear and away from […] traffic, but we had to access the free internet in the lobby on our laptop (small inconvenience). Not an exceptional breakfast, but it was a more than adequate continental breakfast. It is walking distance to major historic sites. We stayed here for nine nights and will use this hotel again on return visits. Good value. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Contilla"
Walking distance from Train Station. Friendly and helpful staff.
"Dirty, smelly room"
Dirty, smelly hotel room in a rough part of town. Don't stay here. Ugh... room was so disgusting. Royal Court Hotel on the other side of the train station was much nicer at only a little bit of a price increase.
"Wonderful hotel"
This was MUCH better than the other hotels in the neighborhood I have stayed in. The bathroom was huge by European standards. An easy walk from the main terminal I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Great Location & Friendly Staff"
I stayed here for two nights with my two young kids (10 & 4). Very close to the train station and very easy to find and there are several places to eat nearby. Breakfast was offered both mornings and was a standard continental breakfast. The rooms were decent size for a European hotel, were very clean, and each room had it's own temperature control. […] The staff I had the pleasure dealing with were very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again next time I am in Rome and would highly recommend it. Lisez la suite

"Good location, OK with the rest.."
This kind of sums it all up, the location is good, for the price we paid, the hotel in general is average, seen worse, seen better. The breakfast lacks few basic things you look for when you stay even at simple hotels such as this.. but in the end, everything is negligible as it is close to Rome Termini and easy to walk from here to everywhere you […] want. "Close to transport but watch out"
Pro Close to metro Easy to get around Affordable Private bath Breakfast Clean Free wifi Close to old Rome Cons Poor customer support Ac not working majority of time Small room compared to other hotels around area Usually I don't write reviews but felt that I should to let people know what they are getting into. As above you need to see if the pros […] outweigh the cons. In the summer months, stay away as it can be agonizing in the rooms. However in late fall or spring it might be acceptable. Proceed with that in mind and you will be well off. Lisez la suite
"Convenient To Termini Train Station"
Great location close to the main train station. Manager was very accomodating, and even opened a bottle of wine that I purchased as a courtesy. I would stay at this hotel again. Continental breakfast was the most impressive of the 6 different hotels that I stayed during my recent trip to Italy.

All things considered for a European hotel, it was a good deal for the price. Room was bigger than was expected, clean, and the location close to Termini was extremely convenient, and still within easy walking distance to Coliseum and other sites in Rome.

I could only give points for the location, the room was very dissasfying for the a/c being broken, the bathroom was rediculously small and unclean.
"Good location, close to Termini Central Station"

"Close to station"
Hotel is ideal for a short break. Close to Termini railway station for those travelling by train. Breakfast was not very good pastrys all seemed to be dry and stale but coffee was very good.

Shower is too small
"central Rome"
The hotel was easily located and was close to public transport as well as many sight seeing places
"Wonderful hotel!"
Hotel contilla is in a great location close enough to walk to all of the sights and convieniently located close to the train station. The room was recently completely renovated very tastefully. Breakfast was fantastic! Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall I the hotel was very comfortable and clean at a bargain price. Would come back […] again! Lisez la suite
"good locati on, very small rooms"
The hotel is located very well, close to main railstation and metro. we even walked to most sightseeings. The hotel is indicated at 3 star, however it felt more like to stars. the service is rude, and the breakfast is poor. especially when you arrive at 09:00 (breakfast till 10:00) almost all is finished and not being filled again. the rooms itself […] are clean, but too small. we stayed 5 nights and then it is not convenient. Not enough space to put your luggage as well as the shower is too small for bigger people. also note that there are lots of differences between the rooms. we first got a room that was in a very bad state and complainded to reception, after some arguing we received another one. the pictures on the hotels.com website are made from the better rooms. "Horrible Staff, Convenient but dodgy location"
Expecting a holiday full of all the history and glory of Rome however my stay at the Contilia made it very hard to appreciate it fully. I wish I had more thoroughly read the reviews and not just gone of the price and location because I would most definitely have stay elsewhere, possibly in one of the 1000's of hotels nearby. Reception - the staff […] were abhorrent, their customer service was below any standard I would have set for any major city in the world. We were informed that we should drop our key at reception before proceeding out each day which we did. However to retrieve the key we were rudely grunted at and one staff member even had the gall to roll their eyes as if we had ruined their day to find a set of keys. Simple advice that should have been given on being "received" would have been the process for connecting to internet. Rather, I haphazardly saw a sign for Wifi and inquired at reception, whereby I was grilled for 3 minutes about whether I had already been given my login details. Room - The room was tiny however as expected in an ancient city. The TV had an ambient glow on standby mode that made the room glow with a blue tinge. The bed was as old as some of the monuments in the Ancient City with springs that nearly protruded through what little soft material was within. On the plus side the AC worked effectively. Location - The only real advantage of the hotel was its proximity to the Roma Termini and the Ancient City making it ideal to walk to all major locations within the city. The hotel is also conveniently located if you require a Halal diet and wish to eat other Mediterranean dishes. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Contilia Great Location!"
It was very close to the termini. The hotel was decent and clean. Nice front people .... Very satisfied compare to its price! :)
Pathetic service and breakfast ...not worth the price
Recently refurbished room. Helpful friendly staff. Doesn't have a restaurant (except breakfast) but the bistro across the street is excellent
"staff was rude, but the hotel is convenient"
Front desk people were not friendly, and barely helpful. When we needed help with the AC we were told to "just turn it on". No "Let me send someone up to help" ...just rude. They did get us a driver to the airport, though, and the train station is just two blocks away.
"close to transportation"
This hotel was efficient and certainly not extravagant. The beds were hard but clean. Since it is in an older building, there were some maintenance issues. My husband and daughter were stuck between floors on the elevator-it was quickly remedied and not a major problem, but a safety concern. Clean and close to transportation. Staff at front desk communicated […] well in English. We would stay there again if we couldn't find a cheaper hotel nearby. Lisez la suite

"Good Value, Good Service, Great Location!"
- This hotel is a just a few steps away from the Termini train station, making it a very convenient location. It's also within walking distance to many of the top Rome sights (Collesseum is less than a mile away), and we enjoyed eating at the restaurants nearby (which were also better priced than the restaurants closer to the big tourist attractions). - […] Our room was much bigger than expected, and quite nice for its age. Had a very nice balcony overlooking a quaint courtyard, and a working AC unit that kept the room comfortable. - The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the hotel offers free wi-fi, which many of its neighboring hotels did not. - We had an early flight, so we missed breakfast, so I don't know how good it is. - My only complaint is with the comfort of the bed. There was very little padding on it, so it felt like you were sleeping directly on the springs. I've found this to be pretty common in Europe, but it's uncomfortable nonetheless. Lisez la suite
"Nice and clean hotel"
I've stayed here for a couple of days while visiting London. The advantage of the hotel is that is located close to the tube station and is easy to get to from the airports. They offer breakfast options and the hotel has a pub/lounge in the same building. The only thing that it lacks is a ramp for luggage and people with dissabilities, so I dropped […] my laptop backpack while trying to get to the elevators. Lisez la suite
"Nice value hotel"
I was very pleased with my six night stay. The hotel location was excellent, only two blocks from the central train station and within easy walking distance of many major attrations. The room was small, typical of European hotels, but was very clean and in excellent condition. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful. The breakfast was […] basic, but very good. I will definately stay again. Lisez la suite
"hotel contilia"
considering that you can't get much for US dollar in europe these days (we stayed in april 2011) this hotel was acceptable. For qetting to and out of rome it was very convenient . The breakfast was not very good and the beds were a little hard and the towels unusual but everything was clean and everything worked.
"Hotel Contilla- Convenient but uncomfortable"
I should have listened to the people that wrote truthfully about this hotel. First, non working AC in our room. There was an AC alright, saw it, heard it, but didn't feel any cold air. When we requested to transfer to another room, we were told that if we open the window, we should feel some cold air at night. True, but also heard the dog barking in […] the alley below (our room was facing some sort of apt units) and also smelled someone's cooking. Beds are hard and towels are paper thin. They're more of table covers if you ask me. Good luck to the ones who still want to stay here after reading this. Pay extra and stay at a nicer hotel. Only plus, close to the Termini station (5 minutes walk). Breakfast is pitiful. We stayed for 3 nights and we had the same breakfast everyday. Lisez la suite
"The world's smallest hotel room."
We could not open the front door fully because our luggage was standing behind the door (no other place to put it). The bathroom was larger than the room. Towels are cotton sheets cut into a towel size, strange. Otherwise, very clean. If you are looking for internet, they do not have it. They say they do, by my MAC computer that never has a problem […] getting online could not even find their network. There is just no internet period. The area is just 2 blocks from the main train station. So, if you are taking the train from the airport into town, it is a great location. Walking distance to the ancient Rome. But the surrounding area is very questionable. Lisez la suite
"Great Location"
Nice Hotel, Great Location, few steps from Termini Train Station, close to everything. small room and bathroom, but this is normal in a 2000 years old city if we want to be in the hystoric center, there are newer hotels with bigger rooms for the same price outside the city but those did not work for us, all depends of what is your trip purpose, in our […] case we want to be located in the hystoric center close to the Coliseum, Via dei Fori Imperiali, Palatine Hill, Vatican, etc, you can take the Metro to these places or just walk, we walked and enjoyed the city. The Termini station is about 200 yards from the hotel, we went to Florence and PIsa, but you can move to any place frm there. Don't expect the luxory of an US hotel for you money. Europe is very different from US. Considering the cost of life in Rome this hotel provide good cost-benefit. Certanly we will use it again. Lisez la suite
