Bay Palace - Taormina

We planned to stay in Taormina for two days. But because we liked the town so much we extended our stay to four nights. FOR WHAT THEY MENTION TO BE A 4 STAR HOTEL. This hotel, suitable for HEALTHY ADULTS, is clean. Furnishings are very basic - an inexpensive option when staying in Taormina. The front desk and dinning room staff are somber and treat the guests as an interruption and annoyance. We observed the staff for 2 days and never saw a smile. Throughout the hotel are large signs, in 4 languages, that start […] "IT IS FORBIDDEN" and then go on with" what ever" is FORBIDDEN. Do not stay at this hotel with young children or if walking is a problem. The entrance to the Hotel is a very steep climb and walking anywhere is on a very busy road with no sidewalks. The staff at this hotel was very nice. The hotel had a terrific breakfast and ended up being a great location. Once you're there you can stay parked because the beach or cable car to the top of the mountain is a 10 minute walk. Taormina is a beautiful town to visit and you can use a whole day just shopping and touring the top of the mountain. When viewing the pictures one would think they were staying at a moderate setting, this place was in need of much help. The location was literally on the side of the mountain, particullarly on the cold side of the mountain, parking was for 5 cars and was on a 55degree uphill angle, the room and halls were in need of repair, the bed was terrible, and […] everything in the hotel closed at 6pm, except the dinner that was offered from 730 -9pm. we chose to eat at a little pizza shop up hill about a mile, it was fantastic. On the up side the staff was nice and pleasant and checking in/out process was easy and fast. I feel as though it could be offered at a cheaper rate and be worth the stay. Lisez la suite

We had a very nice stay at the Bay Palace! We highly recommend if you do not mind walking and parking in very tight quarters. Pros: - convenient location - staff was polite and helpful - most speak English - we arrived very late (~2 AM) and the clerk woke up immediately and helped us. - the view of the sea and mainland Italy is beautiful - hotel is […] clean and maintained fairly well - breakfast was decent: coffee, juices (sweetened), fruits, decent pastries, yogurt, etc Cons: - parking - driveway is very narrow and steep, parking on the highway is a bit of an adventure - internet - no wireless and we had to purchase use of their one computer - restaurant for dinner - the restaurant is setup for guests who purchase a meal plan. We attempted to eat there without the meal plan and there were no prices on the menu. We opted to go elsewhere. Overall, a nice place to stay. There is a small market within walking distance. Myself and my partner stayed at the Bay Palace hotel for 5 nights which we were incredibly happy with. After reading some of the negative reviews we were initially a little apprehensive but on arrival we were instantly reassured we had booked the right one. We were given a room with a spectacular sea view and happily enjoyed our free breakfast every […] morning which consisted of lovely rolls, salami, cheese, cereals, fruits and beverages. The beach was a short walk away and we were more than happy to stay at the bottom of Taromina and take the cable car up to the town for dinner in the evenings. The town is beautiful and very romantic. We had some excellent meals in which our highlight was mussels followed by cannoli which is Sicilian cake - you must try! Our only slight problem we encountered, was the impatient / slightly crazy driving by the Italians!!! On the first night we were police escorted through the narrowest street imaginable in our not so practical convertible. We now realise why Italians have such small cars!!! So all in all, this is definitely a big thumbs up.... you might even get to sample a fine Sicilian peach as a departing gift by the owner of Bay Palace Hotel too, if your lucky .... Lisez la suite

Dette er ikke et fire stjerners hotell, men vi fikk allikevel mye for pengene. Hyggelig og serviceinnstilt personell, god frokost, nydelig utsikt fra terassen og spisesalen. Fin pool, men slitent poolområde. Rommet var ikke særlig stort, og badet hadde svartsopp og rust rundt dusjkabinettet. Skulle gjerne ha visst at sentrum i byen lå 500 meter opp, […] og at man var avhengig av taubane. Heldigvis lå ikke hotellet mer enn 10 minutters gange fra taubanen. Lisez la suite

L albergo e' posizionato in un ottima zona bella vista sul mare ,anche se x arrivare a Taormina bisogna organizzarsi diversamente auto o scale x arrivare su in centro,posto tranquillo personale gentilissimo stanze pulite e belle ci torneremo

NOS GUSTO EL HOTEL, BUEN SERVICIO, COMO HICIMOS EL CHECK-OUT Y FUIMOS A LA PLAYA NOS DIERON UN BAÑO PARA CAMBIARNOS ANTES DE SEGUIR EL VIAJE. MUY RECOMENDABLE HOTEL!!!!
