Jolly Swagman Backpackers - Potts Point

quartier qui bouge, chambre propre et confortable (avec un petit évier), personnel aimable et rapport qualité-prix très intéressant!

Nous avons passe 6 nuits dans une chambre double de l hotel. Nous avons apprecie notre sejour. Le quartier est sympa, proche de tout. Nous n'avons circule qu'a pieds. A la reception l'accueil est sympa et disponible. A recommander sur Sydney.

Séjour tres agréable. Très propre pour un backpacker. Et les hotes sont très bien pour tout ce qui est informations en tout genre.

confort minimal pour les +30 ans, mais ok pour les budgets reduits et/ou jeunes car atmosphere plutot sympa

prix attractif en hiver, backpack de taille moyenne bien entretenu avec le petit dej compris dans un quartier qui bouge, c tres correct

Bon rapport qualité prix , à recommander pour les non fortuné, ambiance calme décontractée, 1ere expérience et sommes agréablement surpris même s'il faut parfois laver son bol. Nous avons 68 et 69 ans.

Je n'ai rien a dire sur l'hotel en lui-meme. Confortable, situe dans un quartier vivant, pas trop loin du centre de Sydney, des parcs, etc. Mais j'y ai passe la pire nuit de mon voyage, a cause des autres clients. Il y a un boucan permanent et les murs sont en carton donc on entend tout. J'ai du me lever deux fois pour demander a des gens de ne pas […] faire leurs coups de telephones dans le couloir juste a cote de ma porte, car c'etait comme s'ils parlaient dans ma chambre. Et cela a minuit passe! Puis, vers 1h30, un groupe est rentre bourre de sa fiesta, et a continue a faire un tapage pas possible dans son dortoir jusqu'a trois heures du matin! Je devais me lever une demi-heure plus tard pour prendre mon avion et je n'avais presque pas ferme l'oeil de la nuit. Et pourtant, il y a partout des ecriteaux demandant de ne pas faire de bruit la nuit... Donc, si votre but est de faire des nuits blanches toutes les nuits, c'est l'endroit qu'il vous faut. Contrairement a ce qu'était indiqué sur le site internet, la navette aéroport n'est pas gratuite pour des séjours de moins de 3 nuits. Le petit déjeuner laisse un peu à désirer, le pot de beurre que tout le monde tripatouille n'est guère appétissant ! Les chambres sont plutôt correctes pour une auberge de jeunesse. I had an amazing time in Sydney. I took the hostel for what it was: a place to sleep and take a fresh shower and then get the hell out of there and spend the day in Sydney. The rooms were really hot, especially during the night although there was a fan in the room. The showers were refreshing and quite clean: a big plus. The rooms and fridges (yes, […] there's a fridge in the room, yay) are cleaned every other day which was very nice. There's even laundromats on the second floor. This place did not live up to the other review or pictures online. We just needed a cheap place to stay for one night before our flight out of Sydney. I don't usually stay in hostels, so I was expecting it to suck a bit, but it was a little worse that I expected. My friends and I recently took a trip to Australia, we planned to stay at the Jolly Swagman the three nights we would be in Sydney. Well, we only stayed one and that was more than enough. The Jolly Swagman is not easy to get to from the airport, the shuttle cost us $16 a piece. When we got there the staff was friendly enough and told us about some free […] things to do in Sydney. However, our room was not very clean, it smelled funny, had a broken window, and we found ants crawling in the room. Needless to say, we cancelled our other two nights in favor of another hotel. Excellent service, friendly staff, quiet! The room was clean and the battens were cleaned daily. You can't expect more from a hostel. As a plus, the welcome kit includes a SIM card, filed up $20 of credit and lasted me 2 weeks of trying, calling, And data Usage

Forget about free airport pick up. I waited almost an hour at the airport but nobody shows up. The staff was friendly. The room was not bad. Good location. OK for backpackers. If you feel not young anymore, pay more for a better hotel. This is for a young backpackers.

need. Good for the young crowd. The room refrigerator was nice and there is a breakfast of sorts, but it can be difficult to get your turn at the toaster. It was noisy at night, and although we had to wait an hour and a half for the room to be cleaned, I don't know what they cleaned, since you make up your own bed and the floor had not been vacumed. […] But if was a good price, the staff was friendly, a breakfast is included and the airport shuttle to Kings Cross stops right across the street. Receptionists are all very friendly and helpful, double room we stayed in was clean and the breakfast of toast and cereal was fine. However paper thin walls and a lack of enforcement of quiet times within the bedroom floors resulted in nightly wakings by rowdy folk at 3-5am and alot of sleepless nights. I stayed at the Jolly Swagman in September 2011. The backpacker hostel is in the busy Kings Cross area, close to the busy nightlife of pubs, clubs and strip bars. The hostel is just ok for a short stay, not in great condition and not the newest but acceptable for a short stay. ok place to stay, room is old, bathroom and laundry room are rusty and old. Only one shower for the girls room. Tried to find the rooftop but didn't see any access to it.

This hostel has everthing you need when arriving in Sydney: simple but good breakfast, very secure rooms, great, friendly staff and endless opportunities of activities during the day and at night! You wont want to leave - I stayed there for 3weeks!

What a wonderful community awaits you in this great backpacker hostel. The fellow backpackers are fabulous, the staff is thoughtful, the facilities are great, and the location is perfect! Honestly, I encountered nothing but immense cleanliness, fabulous community, GREAT room value (I stayed 10 nights in a single room with a DOUBLE bed and got a great […] rate.) I was here one night last month and came back to stay for a week while I was in Sydney again. Be sure to check out the Jolly Tour Package which includes the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus, Sydney Aquarium, and tour to the Blue Mountains for only $99. Also, if you're there on a Friday night it includes hamburgers and hot dogs cooked out on the grill.

Good location, convenient to train station. You never know what to expect with a backpackers hotel. 2 of my roommates had been there for 2 months and it showed in the room. They had stuff everywhere and you could barely walk through. The hairdryer on my floor didn't work, and there was no a/c in the room. We were able to open the balcony doors to let […] some cooler air in. Be prepared to place a $20 deposit for your key and another $20 for use of a bath towel. Both of which were returned to me at checkout. All in all it was a great price for what I needed; to stay cheap overnight in an expensive city. For anyone staying longer, the hotel seemed to have a lot of info on cheap travel packages, discount food and beer nights at local restaurants, and they had ongoing activities organized at the hotel. Free pick up at the airport. A nice and clean room. Shared toilets and showers. Both nice and clean. Decent free breakfast. The room wasnt very well ventilated. It had one window into a small alley and a small fan. So the room got very hot. Definitely recommended!

was charged $20 for a key deposit which I placed on my credit card..I expected the charges to be reversed when I returned the key,,it could not be done and I had to accept $20 australian cash...which i did not need or want on the day I was leaving

We had a great time there. Its one of the better hostels I been at. They had a kitchen where you could cook everything;) Great common rooms, with an own tv-area. They arranged an activity every day, they are good at the social-part. If you like to meet new people and have a good time, I recommend this hostel.

All adult ages, many nations but mostly European, north American and Asian.

Handy to get around clean cheap hostel. Nicer than surrounding hostels. Private room very good value. Perfect as a first stop when you arrive in Sydney - a walk down to nearby Potts point is a must - lovely area. Kings Cross is not so nice but cheap to eat in.

Der Aufenthalt im Jolly Swagman Backpackers hat uns super gut gefallen. Der Preis war super und die Leistung dazu einfach genial. Wir haben drei Nächte hier verbracht und wären sehr gerne noch länger geblieben. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Zimmer zweckmässig und das Frühstück vielfältig.

Det stod 4 stjärnor när jag skulle boka detta hostel, men det var det knappast...jag undrar om det ens kom upp i 2 stjärnor... Hostelet är bra om man inte bryr sig om snor på väggarna och skabbiga hemlösa människor runt om i kvarteret. För övrigt fanns det ingen AC så det var ganska varmt.

地点不错，到哪里都很近。但地处红灯区，介意的人不要考虑这里。房间里有蚊子，由于地处特殊地点，很怕会带来传染病。不推荐。我打的分数较低不是对酒店本身，而在其所属的区域，酒店本身还是不错的。

網路上對這家住宿的評分3.7所以造成我有非常錯誤的感覺，實際住了，只證明了一件事，這地方太糟糕了，便宜沒好貨!!學生或許可以接受，家庭情侶千萬別去住。

Bra Hostel, nära till Centrum. Sjyst och hjälpsam personal. Frukosten var ok, gratis framför allt ;) och det var supersmidigt att bara ringa från flygplatsen så kommer de och hämtar en och släpper av en vid hostelet gratis. tillbaka till flygplatsen fick jag betala 12$ men det var ok gissar att det kan variera något kanske men runt det priset, samma […] sak de kommer till hostelet och kör en till flygplatsen. Sydney är toppen btw :D Åk dit! Och skåpen på rummet var stora, så man fick bra platts för ryggan! Dagen man checkar ut kan man ha sina grejer i ett hyrt skåp, kostar inte mycket. Ska man ¨låsaom sina saker på rummet, vilket kan vara bra! Ska man ha med sig eget lås! ta Bussen till Bondi om du åker dit! Det är topp! Lisez la suite

KINGS CROSS駅からすぐ近くにあり、利便性が抜群でした。あと、朝食が無料なのがGOOD！！

The free airport transfer is a useful service provided if at least 3 nights are booked. However, the service is not available after 8.30pm. Having a flight scheduled to arrive 8.15pm, I wrote the hostel to ask if I would be able to get this free transfer. The answer was that I had to call them as soon as I got the luggage and they will verify if the […] company which actually performs the transfer is still operative. Landed 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, got the luggage quite fast, at 8.15 / 8.20pm I was already calling the hostel, sure that I would be able to get the transfer. Guess what... nobody picked up the phone! I tried several times in the next 10/15 minutes, calling both the free number and the international one... nobody picked up the phone! And again, guess what... 2 minuted after 8.30pm, finally somebody answered; I asked for the transfer and of course they told that the service was not operative, being 8.30pm already passed. So, i had to manage with the transfer myself. This was not really a fair thing from the hostel staff and really not a good way to start my stay in Sidney. Lisez la suite

Erinomainen sijainti Sydneyssä Kings Crossilla. Punaisten lyhtyjen aluetta, mutta uskaltaa liikkua oikein hyvin. Oikein miellyttävä hostelli. Hostellissa kuitenkin liian vähän vessoja & suihkuja (näin talvella ei ollut täysi, joten ei ongelmaa, mutta kesäisin varmasti on ahdasta). Plussaa aamiaisesta ja erittäin avuliaasta henkilökunnasta!
