Fort Canning Lodge - Singapour

Proche du metro. Seul probleme est que le buffet du petit déjeuner est souvent froid; Les oeufs au plat sont froids ainsi que le bacon ,les pommes de terre... bref les chauffes plats ne font pas leur boulots!! Internet n'est pas gratuit. Literie correcte, piscine hors fonction pendant notre séjour (3 au 7 janvier)

the location is fantastic and the staff is very cordial and helpful. the breakfast buffet was a little monotonous and the service in the restaurant was not upto the mark. Good. Should have another thrash bin in bed room. Only one in toilet.

It was okay. No restaurant, no room service, you arrived hungry and you were told to go to order of Mcdonald or walk ten minutes away to buy food.it is a big place and these kind of services were missing?

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, a couple with a 3 year old child. The room was nice and clean, with a beautiful view. The location is just fantastic, very close to an MRT station with three different lines. And this is a great upside in hot and humid singapore, where even a short walk can be hard to walk. The only downside for us was that got a […] room with 2 single beds, and not a queen one. The beds were 1m wide each so it was a bit tight sharing with a kid. Excellent location, decent service....there could have been more variety for breakfast,the same thing every day was a slight disappointment. Overall, the stay was comfortable and staff helpful. The location beats it all- a 5 minute walk from the Dhobi Ghaut MRT station.

Fort Canning Lodge is not glamorous and there are plenty of places in Singapore that are, so if that is what you are looking for, don't look here. But Fort Canning has a terrific pool, a huge variety of food on a breakfast buffet and is in an excellent location! It's affordable, but does not have frills, but is definitely worth the money. Room cleaning a bit disorganoised maid came after 5pm just after I got back to my room next morning didnt know I was checking out.A/C a bit noisey otherwise room ok and clean.Pool very good as was breakfast staff helpful convenient for walks bus and MRT

The location is really excellent! However the hotel was rather dirty and i found ants in my room right after checked in. I reported it to the hotel and on the next day they finally fixed the problem. The swimming pool is basically occupied by Japanese kids for swimming class almost through the week, and their mums were watching them from the pool side. […] Under this case, you would not be interested to join the pool i suppose... Stayed for 1 night. Pros -Location was nice. My room had a nice view of the park area. Very close to Dhoby Ghout MRT station -Washing machine onsite. S$12 per load for detergent and token for washing machine and dryer -Did let me check out late at 2PM at no additional charge. This was very helpful. Cons- -Service fees-Automatic $3 fee for non-YWCA […] members, $15 cancellation fee, $25 for 1 day of internet service in the room -Room was okay, very basic. Old TV and poor reception. Ants in room. -Breakfast is not that great. There is a decent selection but food was similar mediocre cafeteria food. For example, the milk tasted like it was not fresh, but made from powdered milk. Stayed for one night. The one thing that I really appreciated was the onsite laundry machine and that was why I booked it for one night. If you plan to stay a long time and don't want pay a high price to have your laundry professionally done, it is hard to find a laundromat. However, I stayed a couple of nights at another hotel earlier in the week, which was similar in price and had a much nicer room of similar size with a nicer TV and the cost to use the internet was less than half of what they charged. If you are taking the MRT to get here, as you leave the station you can't see the hotel. You will see the Park Mall on the Penang road side. Just go behind the Mall. If you go to the left there will be a water fountain, just go up the stairs or follow the walk way next to the fountain. The hotel is convenient when only staying one night in Singapore. It is close to the MRT train (when you know the way) and Orchard road. The breakfast was included in the price, which is good. Missed free internett or Wifi which is a must for all hotels these days

The location is very close to the metro. It is clean and safe feeling and the staff were very helpful and nice.

there is no lobby furniture. Not able to use wireless. Not bad for the price

The location is quite near the MRT station if you take the lift at Park Mall to level 4 and walk thur the car park; the hotel is on your right. The room is in reasonable size and tidy.

The location of the hotel is far away from Orchard Road. Facilty is okey.

Very reasonable priced with fabulous location in every way. Desk staff was most eager to help. Breakfast more than adequate.

This hotel is located in the heart of Singapore. Easy walk almost anywhere. Close to Chinatown, Clark Quay, Orchard Road. We even walked to Little India from there. There is an MRT (subway) station really close. The area is simply beautiful, in the middle of the colonial district. The room was a bit small, but no one ever advertised this as a 5-star […] resort. For the price, in Singapore, it was great. Breakfast buffet was included and it was delicious (Continental and Asian menu). We visit Singapore very often. We have stayed for 5 nights with big disappointment !! It's location is good, just 5 min. walk to the MRT station. For the hotel quality, it's really bad ! No change of the bed sheets for 5 nights. No house-keeping at the night time. No refill of the bathroom accessories. Worn out hotel facilities - bathroom, floor, wall, ceiling...Many ants and small […] insects everywhere - terrible !!! Because it is 2 streets away from Orchard Rd., the place was very quiet. The most delightful surprise is that, by taking a shortcut through the shopping mall next door, you can find yourself a block away from Orchard Rd.! We liked their breakfast buffet, they have western and local style.

The location of this hotel is absolutely best thing. Room was very spacious, clean and practical, but nothing more. View was not so pretty. The room had unpleasent damp smell, but once air-con was turned on it was allright. Hint. When arriving hotel from dhoby gout station go through pork-mall elevator to the fourth level an out throuhg parking building. […] No need going around the complex, which can be hard in the heat and carrying the luggage up hill. Maybe we were just unlucky, but there were a number of things that made our stay less pleasant than expected. - water heater our room didn't work, so we had to take cold showers for 2 nights in a row. luckily singapore was hot and we were only there for 2 nights. - there were tiny ants dotted around the room. didnt' bother us too much but it says something […] about the cleanliness/maintenance. - phone to my friend's room didn't work, and so we had no way of contacting them - we only found out about the SGD3.20 membership fee when we got there. Maybe it was mentioned in the booking site? Don't know...wasn't very clear. all of these things can be fixed, and may not happen to all guests. but just beware of such things that COULD happen to you on a trip and not have inflated expectations. The quality of the food at breakfast was no the greatest. Food was luke warm, some of it even completely cold, and the eggs were not cooked properly. Other than that, our stay was quite comfortable.

The YWCA is conveniently (walking distance) located near Orchard Road where all the major malls are. Our hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet. The receptionists were accommodating. The buffet breakfast was ok. I was able to sample local Singaporean dishes during lunch buffet on the 30th of November 2011.

More like a Hotel than a Y. Great breakfast selection each day. Not like the bagels and toast in the US. Perfect location! Close to a hub on the MRT, close to the Historic District and Orchard Road shopping, the Hippo Tour even has a stop close by. Nice pool. I felt very safe staying here.

Had a very nice stay in this hotel, on arrival we asked could we have a double room as when I booked the only room was 2 single beds, this was accommodated on day 2 with an extremely helpful and friendly front office manager. The hotel is in a very central location, close to Dhoby Ghaut station, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the room […] was clean. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very large. Good value.

This hotel is currently undergoing renovations. Our first three days were spent in the unrenovated part. Bathroom tiles were cracked and drain smelt. All rather musty. However it was clean and ok. We came back for one night and stayed in the renovated section. Very acceptable. Have no qualms staying there again. Location fantastic and close to Dhoby […] Ghaut station and Orchard Road. YCA was a value hotel. It is very close to MRT, shopping malls and main Orchard Road areas. Room was basic and clean, mine had 2 single beds. TV was older CRT and only 13 inch size, recpetion ok for most channels, though selection very limited. Good pool and very good breakfast included. Did not sample lunch there. If location is your main criteria then this is your hotel but if you want more then look elsewhere. If you manage to get it for a really cheap price then go for it, but do not expect 4 star, you will be disappointed!

No real complaints - rooms and decor in need of uplift, but renovations are going on. Buffet breakfast is good. Our bedroom door was accidentally left ajar (it didn't fully close) by the cleaner one day, so anyone could have walked in our room for the entire day. Thankfully nothing went missing - but need for more care from the staff.

its a very old old building that is stuck in the 60's. It is located at the end of Orchard road which means you still have to take a bus or taxi to get to where you want to go. The food was really bad and they dont have room service. Internet for the room is not wireless and they give you a cable to connect if you would like to use the internet at a […] very high price. The room was quite simply furnished, basic and a bit old, but comfortable. The room is not small compared to other hotels of about the same price range. Sandwiched between a green lung area and a busy orchard road (and MRT station) and various amenities close by, it is very well-placed. The only fly in my soup was in the morning after my midnight check-in, […] when the house maids talked in the hallway outside my room waking me up rather earlier than I would have liked! a very nice surprise to know that dholby gaut mrt can be accessed through the lifts of park mall which a a very short stroll from YWCA.

This is not my first time staying in this hotel. I choose this hotel because its accessibility from any transportation mode such as MRT and Taxy. Another thing is the cost. However, staying in Singapore Hotel now is getting high. Anyway, compared to other hotels in Singapore, I still choose this hotel as our favourite stay in S'pore.

This hotel decor was a bit dated. The room was very large and it was nice to have a pool to have a swim. The breakfast was substantial, but the quality of it was not good. The staff were helpful. The location is not great, but a short walk to the station and it didn't take long to get where you wanted to go.

This hotel is good considering the relatively low price. We were surprised to find that we had to become members of YWCA and pay a small fee for this. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. The best thing about this place in the location, its only 5 minutes from Orchard road.
