Bon acceuil, personnel sympatique.

"cheap"
used condoms, and needles in the shared bathroom. Pretty gross. they cleaned it up in the morning though.
"Cheap is not always best"
This is the worst place I have ever stayed. The bed was full of hair and the heat didn't work. I spent all night shivering. Everything was nasty. I can't believe this is even a place you can book through hotels.com. Hotel Villa is that down town place that you know people are going there to stay by the hour for some midnight booty call. So gross. I […] hated my life every moment I was in there. Lisez la suite
The cheapest room advetised was terrible. The front desk man was quite grouchy. There was mini notes by the desk notifying staff not to let certain street people to rent rooms for drug dealing and prostitution purposes. Our room was right by the elevator and it was so noisy, you can hear it in your room every time it was in use. It even woke me up a […] couple times. There was a man who kept going to shared bathroom to smoke up. the smoke detector was hanging off the ceiling. the bed head was hanging on by a nail and the room was barely heated. the bed was crap too. If you are traveling by yourself and looking for a cheap spot to spend the night, then this place is for you. I was with my girlfriend, and she was not impressed. I especially do not recommend this hotel to families. The only plus side, is the location. Lisez la suite

"Hotel villa Montreal."
The only reason I'd recommend this hotel is that it's pretty cheap. There are shared bathrooms, and for 15 extra bucks a night you can get your own. It seems like it used to be a group appartment complex. The neighbourhood isn't super great. But it is right by the metro. There were hairs all over the bed sheets, the bathroom and it was unsettling.
"great location, affordable price"
I got the room that I paid. I was not expecting more. The location is great. Only inconvenient was a loud guys-girls that were in the corridor at night.
"Hotel Villa - accessible location, dive hotel"
Yea it's divey. Yea it's in a good location. Yea it's cheap. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't somewhere you would want to stay either. Wouldn't stay more than a night.
"5 Day stay on the cheap...."
Hotel was adequate for the price. Would have been nice to have a remote for the TV.
"Good for a cheap stay!"
We got a decent deal for the room. It's in a bit of a "grungy" neighborhood for Montreal. It reminds me of the East Village in NYC. It's easy walking distance to Old Montreal and the good shopping on St. Catherine The room smelled like smoke but it was otherwise clean and comfortable. We didn't realize there would be a floor bathroom which is shared! At […] about 4 AM there was someone who was yelling in French in the hallway (clearly drunk). He was taken care of pretty quickly by someone but we were a little nervous. Lisez la suite

"The hotel is in heart of the down town"
This hotel is a very old hotel and better for 1 day stay and the best part is it is in the heart of downtown and easy to acess all the places
"Awesome Service"
This hotel is nothing fancy on the outside but the room was clean and had fresh linens. Everything worked and the bed was very comfortable. I had made a mistake by booking on the wrong date for our vacation, but when we got there and realized what had happened, the gentleman helped us with no problem and it was soon fixed so that we could stay for our […] planned weekend. The location is neara huge mall and close to downtown. Since there is no parking available at the hotel it is convenient that a parking garage is just a few blocks away. ($19/24hrs). We stayed on the 4th floor which only has a sink in the room but has a shared bathroom for about 4 or 5 rooms on the floor. It was very clean and not an issue. We would gladly stay here again! "perfect for the price"
I know Montreal very well. I've been visiting and partying there for years now. I wanted the cheapest place I could find within walking distance to all the bars and parties I planned on going to. I got exactly what I paid for. The hotel was in a rough part of town, near the strip clubs and a lot of crackheads/homeless people. I'm from Boston, and the […] roughest part of Montreal does not at all compare to most parts of Boston. Montreal and Canada in general are very safe, with extremely low crime rates of all kinds, especially compared to the U.S. I study graduate level biostatistics and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, so I know my what I'm talking about. But if you don't believe me, go check for yourself. The bums are annoying and unsightly, but they won't bother you...believe me. The service was amazing. The security was also impressive. We came in at all hours...3 am, then 7 am, and they had to buzz us in, and then carefully check that we were guests, not bums. So please don't worry about your safety. The room was perfect for what I wanted. Old and a little busted, but completely clean. I will admit we saw one mouse in our room, but please let me assure you that there are mice in almost every building in Montreal, especially the old ones. Also, mice do not carry diseases as do rats. There were absolutely no bugs. The bathroom was amazing, clearly recently remodeled. I invested in a standard room with two queen beds, which was perfect for my boyfriend, friend and I for the weekend. Checkout was at 12:00 pm on Sunday, which was ideal since we were partying. Overall, I definitely intend to stay at this hotel again when I visit Montreal, as I was very pleased with my stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, except famlies. Lisez la suite
"Free Bugs Included in the Dirty Room"
Stay Far Away from this place!!!! We noticed dirtiness when we arrived to the room. The towels had lipstick marks on them, and we had to request changing them. It did not stop there. I opened the door in the morning to find someone sleeping in the hallway!!!! My wife was totally scared of the scene. in our second day of staying, we noticed a bugs […] in the room, as a result we requested moving to a new room. In the morning the supervisor stopped by and apologized profusely, and offered us a free breakfast!!! Five days after I left, the bites started to show on my body. My wife and I are stressed out and on hight alert for the fear that our little kid might have been bitten. I would recommend this hotel to my enemies only. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Villa-Cheap Perfection!"
As a student, going to a new city must be cheap. As a fan going to a show, you must be close the venue, if you are drinking. I was not only close to the venue, it was across the street to Club Soda. The Employees were helpful, kind. The only issue i must niptick at, was the spoke alarm was hanging (Still on) but it wasn't screwed in. Still downtown, […] close to SAQ'S, and places that sell beer. "Good deal in great neighborhood"
I thought it was a good deal in a great neighborhood. It's clearly a budget hotel -- there are hotels in the same neighborhood that cost six times as much. The one negative thing for me was that there was no chain or way to mechanically lock the door from the inside. I would expect that even (perhaps especially?) from a budget hotel. I had no problems […] but it did make me just a little leery going to sleep. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Villa - walk to Via Rail, but little sleep"
I know this is a hostel and I shouldn't expect much. Well, Hotel Villa didn't deliver much. I booked this room so I could catch a train in the morning. It is a 15 min walk or so from Via Rail. The room was very basic. There was a TV, a bed, a dresser and a sink in the room. There is an elevator in the building. The mattress was very, very low and very […] old (springs poking in back). There was no headboard. The pillows provided were very old and very flat. It was not a comfortable sleep. The door to the room was right beside the bed and it rattled every time another door on the floor opened or closed, waking me up several times. I felt somewhat unsafe in the room as a second lock (chain or deadbolt) wasn't provided and the hotel isn't in the best neighbourhood (exotic clubs outside). All in all, I would not recommend this hotel unless you have no other choice. I have stayed in many hostels and the beds provided at Hotel Villa are not adequate. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Villa - bring your own curtains"
It's in a very good location, within easy walking distance of the Place des Arts and just around the corner from Sainte-Laurent subway station. Plus, it's cheap. But the downside for us was the terrible curtains in our room. We'd have been better off without any at all! By all means stay here but if you get offered room 306, ask to see it first!

"Close to a lot of must see sights"
The location made this hotel a great issue if you plan to visit Montreal. You could arrive at any time without any problem, but the soundrounding looks ugly. I highly recomend the hotel cause is one block from the modern art museum and close to a lot of sights.
the hotel has no parking. i had to park 4 blocks away and pay $19.00
"Hotel Villa is in the middle of action"
This is a 2-star hotel; you get what you pay for. Its location near Av St Laurent and St Catherine makes it an easy walk to Old Town. The Latin Quarter, Place des Artes and The Village are within a few blocks. St Laurent Metro Station is a block away. The breakfast offered at extra charge is minimal. A key deposit is required. The elevator is sometimes […] balky. The staff is great. This neighborhood has as many strip joints as it does churches and there is pedestrian and some vehicular traffic at all hours. Oh yes, and you'll hear the music with thumper bass, too. Nevertheless, we had fun. Lisez la suite
"GARBAGE"
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DUMP TO MY ENEMIES IT IS NOT LIVEABLE FOR ANYONE.NOT TO MENTION THE CARPET, WALLS, BEDBUGS, DIRTY FILTH. IT NOT WORTH THE TIME.
"Hotel Villa in Montreal"
This hotel is centrally located, which is an advantage as well as a disadvantage. It is in a walking distance from the Old City, but it is very noisy outside, even at night, and there is active road work right next to the hotel from early morning. The hotel is in an old building and the hallways are far from a good shape, but the inside of the room […] is very nice. Although breakfast is not included, hotel guests can buy a decent breakfast for just 2 dollars. Lisez la suite

"Know what you're looking for"
Hotel Villa was ideal for my friend and I as we visited Montreal for the weekend. We wanted something really cheap with a location within walking distance of downtown and Old Montreal, and Hotel Villa was perfect for that. The staff all spoke English without issue and you can't beat the price-- by far the cheapest we could find. We had a budget room […] with a shared bathroom. The room was tiny and a little run-down but clean. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with bars (and there are a few sex shops and "massage parlours"), so it was loud late into the night. Our shared bathroom was not unbearable but I wouldn't shower in it-- fortunately we were only staying for one night. There was a television (we didn't try it though), a nice new refrigerator, a sink and some toiletries, and air-conditioning in the room. Our room had a window right on the street, but the noise was not too bad; by far the worst part was the shared bathroom. There was a lot of competition to use it, especially in the morning, and it definitely showed signs of wear. It was still usable-- as long as you aren't too fastidious about things like hand soap (there was none)-- but it probably would have bothered me more if I had been staying longer. If you have a stay of more than one or two nights, I'd suggest at least an upgrade to the private bathroom. Whether Hotel Villa is right for your trip completely depends on what you're looking for. "Buy cheap, get cheap" is definitely true of this place, but if budget is your main concern then you could do a lot worse. Lisez la suite
"Hotel Villa"
This is one the worst hotels I stayed in. The club next door was way too loud. The window in the room had a patch in it. Also they didn't come & cleaned & put towels in the bathroom. I would never stay in this hotel again.
"Great location, bad everything else"
I was there for the Jazz Festival which happened to be right down the street. For that, the hotel was in a great location. However, the lower street late at night was SO loud - one night, there was club music blasting at 3AM. Now I am in no means an old geezer but it actually shook the walls and after a while, I just kind of wanted to go somewhere else. […] We had a shared bathroom which was pretty disgusting and the hot water barely worked. The sheets were unclean and had previous stains/burns/etc on them. It got really hot at night and there was no A/C but it wasn't sticky enough to complain too much about. I wouldn't really recommend it to anybody unless you're really broke or you just do not care about being clean. Lisez la suite
"Great for a Quick Getaway"
Recently stayed at the Hotel Villa. I cannot say enough about how this is the perfect room for what we wanted. We spent all day wandering the city and visiting tourist sites and really just needed a place to keep our clothes, grab a shower and some sleep. We got that and more as the room has cable and a fridge. Don't be scared about the shared bathroom, […] there are no more than 6 rooms on the floor, you'll never see your neighbors. Plus, can't go wrong with the 2 dollar breakfast to get a quick start to the day. We were very comfy and enjoyed the view from our room. The room is 1 block away from the subway station and there are TONS of restaurants and stores nearby. Perfect location. Enjoy your stay. Lisez la suite
"Good value for money"
I was pleasantly surprised when I got there, because I had seen some mixed reviews. When I got there, the service was great! With a huge smile on his face he informed me about the free wi-fi, helped me with a converter for my electronic advices, and I got all the basic information you need when you arrive a new place. The maid was also very sweet!=) […] The standard is of course not like in a five star hotel, but my room was clean and respectable. I actually decided to stay an extra night because of my satisfaction. If you are looking for a bed to sleep in, I would recommend this place. The location is central, the price is low and the service is great! Lisez la suite
"A cheap place to crash"
My boyfriend and I went to Montreal for the U2 concerts and were looking for an inexpensive place to sleep after the concerts. It calls itself a hotel, but it's more along the lines of a hostel. Here are the pluses and minuses The Pluses: staff were very helpful and bilingual, hotel is located close to the orange and green lines of the metro, our room […] was quiet despite the hotel being on St Catherine St. Soap and shampoo were provided in the room. You can get a continental breakfast for a small fee The minuses: the rug in our room needed to be replaced 10 years ago. It was seriously grungy. I could feel the springs of the matress and the pillow was a bit flat. There were two shared bathrooms on the floor; our room only had a sink. The hotel is located on St Catherine St, which means that there are tons of strip clubs, sex toy shops and other stores in that genre. Definitely not for families and not romantic either. But if you're on a budget and looking for a cheap place to crash after a night on the town, this is a good option. Lisez la suite
