Hotel MutterHaus - Dusseldorf

I was just there for one night using this an a hotel convenient to the airport. This is not a US style hotel and the rooms are extremely old as is the building. It was still a good stay and the surprise was the neighborhood. The Rhein River is only 5 minutes away and within one block is a major courtyard area where the locals hang out. Several restaurants […] are in the area and in the spring/summer everyone sits outside enjoying the weather. Very nice. Not the best room set up for business. No desk or work area. Lisez la suite

From the moment I stepped out of the taxi I felt like I had walked into another world. Hotel MutterHaus occupies an imposing brick Victorian building surrounded by a treed park-like setting. It has an institutional feel about it - like a school, hospital or convent. It was described in the brochure as a former home for deaconesses. The layout is in […] a cross featuring very high ceilings wide corridors and large oak doors on either side. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful. I was given a key and told that when I entered the room to place the key in a slot in the wall to turn on the electricity. How ingenious! And green! I had reserved only a single room and it was huge and sparsely furnished with a tasteful combination of antigue and ultra-modern. The floor was original natural wood planks. The windows were the original gothic shaped and all 3 opened. The room apppeared to be new, impeccably clean and the two single beds pushed close together (typically european) comfortable enough. I had a quiet and peaceful night. The following morning I went down to an excellent breakfast, conveniently served from 7-10, in a rather crowded dining hall, The staff called the airport to find out from which terminal my flight departed. The location is a short taxi ride from the airport and there is a tram station nearby for acess to the city. The only two negatives were that the wifi did not work in my room and I had to sit in the corridor in my pyjamas to do my email! I did not see a hair dryer in the room but they may have had them on request. This hotel may not suit those who prefer the sameness of the big chains - but it is a delightful experience if you want to be transported to a different place from another era without sacrificing the comforts you expect. Die Zimmer sind eher spartanisch eingerichtet (kein Teppich, Läufer etc.), keine Blume usw. Das Bett für ein Einzelzimmer ist ausgesprochen klein, die Bettdecken sehr dünn. Die Brotstube im Keller nicht zu betreten (strenger Kellergeruch, kalt und ungemütlich).

Prinzipiell sehr nettes und umsichtiges Personal. Da die Rezeption kurz vor 22 Uhr sperrt hatten wir jedoch nach einem Theaterbesuch Probleme ins Hotel zu gelangen und mussten den Hausmeister "herausläuten". Am Zimmerschlüssel war zwar ein Magnet zum Öffnen der Eingangstüre, dieser funktionierte aber leider nicht und meine Frage am nächsten Tag, ob […] ich den Magneten ev. durch Kontakt mit meinem Handy in der Handtasche "außer Gefecht gesetzt habe" konnte mir seitens der Rezeption nicht beantwortet werden. ホテル全体の雰囲気と朝食が好きで、よくこのホテルに泊まります。デュッセルドルフの中心街からは少し離れているので、決して便利とは言えませんが、落ち着いた時間を求めて旅行をするには最適だと思います。ドイツらしい街の雰囲気も楽しめます。室内はとてもシンプルで清潔です。ネットの接続もよく、従業員の対応もいいです。また泊まりにいこうと思います。
