"Lorne Hotel Glasgow"
seems to have been very recently refurbished to a good level. Nice bar area and room very well appointed. Only issue was plumbing from room directly above was noisy - mentioned it to the receptionist on checkout and she said she would refer it to maintenance.
"Lorne Hotel Glasgow"
Not the Boutique Hotel it claims to be! For the price it was decent enough but offered no more than Novotel or Holday Inn etc. Bedroom was very very small no room to move, furnishings becoming a little worn. Asked for a quiet room and had a ventilation shaft outside the window! Clean and comfortable bed but would stay elsewhere in the future.
"Advertised incorrectly"
Rooms are compact, parking is on the street outside not on site as advertised and the hotel does not have a fitness centre which was my whole purpose of booking the centre is nearby which would not be the end of the world if it was not raining and 8pm at night upon arrival
"No attention to detail"
Initial impression on arrival at the hotel was good and booking in was very efficient. Nice touches such as providing an ethernet cable for your internet connection without prompting was also positive. Unfortunately it ended there. The wall socket for the internet connection at the desk point didn't work! Had to use the bedisde socket, what is the point […] of provisding a deskif you have to sit on the bed to use your laptop. Ordered roomservice from a very very limited menu, when delivered was poorly presented, food was covered by kitchen foil to keep it warm, no condiments or sauces provided with meal, no glass delivered for mineral water and best of all ....no cutlery provided!!! Such poor service and no apology when mentioned almost as though using a knife and fork was expecting too much. Following morning hen showering discovered that shower cubicle wqs anything but generous. I'm only 5' 11" and hot a large person. Banged my elbows on the wall amd doors when washing and door leaked all over the floor. Shower head adjustment was broken! Breakfast just helped worsen my impression. I can't believe that a hotel this standard can't offer something so simple as Marmalade. I had to ask for some and then discovered that the only jar the restaurant had was alraedy on another guests table and they had to be asked if they were done with it for me to have use of the jar. Will I stay at the Lorne again? NO! Lisez la suite
"A hotel a bit far from downtown"
I stayed at Lorne Hotel Glasgow for 2 nights in June 2011. Overall, the room was in good condition and the hotel was ok. The location is approximately a 10-15 minutes walk from downtown, since its located in the West End of Glasgow. You can find a museum, a park, a botanical garden and the University nearby. The room lacked of some basics that we […] can find in most hotels chains, like tissues, an alarm-clock, etc. Overall, I found that this hotel was expensive for the location which is not downtown and for the lack of the basics in the room. Next time I might go to a hotel from a big chain where I will find the basics and have a complimentary breakfast. Lisez la suite
"Lorne Hotel - Glossy package with a few kinks"
The Lorne Hotel is in a fantastic location on the south edge of Kelvingrove Park, great for visiting the museums of the West End. It's recent refurbs are sleek and trendy, definitely for a younger adult crowd. Parking is on-street, and free at the weekends. Our room was very small but it had been well designed for the space. Enough storage for an overnight […] stop or a weekend stay, but I wouldn't want to have been there longer. Overall my wife and I did like the hotel, but felt for the prices, the staff could have been more professional (and experienced). No-one was told that they would be testing the fire alarms at 7pm on a Friday night and staff were surprised to see their guests evacuating the rooms. At breakfast, the restaurant hadn't been cleaned from the night before; the floors were covered in food. If we needed another overnight stop in this area I'd consider the Lorne again, but would probably also look at alternatives. Lisez la suite

enjoyed our stay, did not eat in hotel but would highly recommend mother india resturant nearby.staff very helpful, first room we where given had a problem with heating and we where quickly moved. handy bus route from airport 747 stops right outside hotel.
"Nice for a one night stay"
I had a queen room which was compact but neat, all I needed for my one night stay. It was an adjoining room and unfortunately my neighbours were very noisy so called reception to see what could be done. Reception upgraded me without any questions, and put me in a much bigger room, which was really nice. Would stay here again, but beware of trying to […] get parked, its a nightmare and expensive! "Lorne Hotel in Glasgow - a gem of a hotel"
I booked this hotel because it appeared to be in a convenient location. We went to Glasgow for the 'Doors Open' weekend - to see a bit of Scottish culture. The hotel was very conveniently located, close to Kelvingrove Park and the Museum/Art Gallery. Also it was only a short walk to Byres Road (a 'must visit' part of Glasgow's West End). I can't comment […] on the standard of the hotel's food, as we stayed 'room only' and ate out. All I can say is that there were some very tempting aromas emanating from the Bukharah Restaurant! I would definitely stay at the Lorne next time I was in Glasgow as it offers convenience and comfort for a reasonable price. Lisez la suite
"Lorne Hotel - fab cocktail bar!"
We stayed at the Lorne for one night and I would definitely recommend it. Lovely and modern and clean rooms with helpful staff. The cocktail bar, Bilberry, is fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful. I've already recommended this hotel to others and will continue to. It was great to be able to stay in such a nice hotel on quite a restricted […] budget. I would say it's good value for money. Lisez la suite
"Lorne Hotel, Glasgow"
