Blue Waters Hotel - Durban

The entire experience was appauling - see Hello Peter feedback. Maintenance works were being done on one of the lifts but everywhere was kept clean and tidy. Staff could not have been more helpful when checking in and when asked about game reserves nearby. Breakfast buffet was quite substantial and a good meal would see you through to having dinner later in the day. If you enjoy coffee, then be aware that many places […] serve coffee which has chicory in it, however, the hotel coffee seemed not to have this additive.....thank goodness. This was a very good value hotel, we requested a twin room and had a huge double bed and a separate bedroom with twin beds a huge bathroom. So it would have been a great family room. The corridor was a bit worn but no complaints about the room or lovely breakfast. would recommend.

they dont work half the time. climbing down 8 flooors is not as easy as one might think.

Although hotel is undergoing refurbishment - still very good and pleasant.Staff very co-operative and willing to assist.Breakfast one of the finest I have seen and I have travelled and stayed in many hotels around the world.Will definitely go back.

I've just got back from the Blue Waters, there are a few items i could complain about, but you have to bare in mind this is a hotel at the lower end of the budget for Durban, if its top luxury you want, or even medium luxury then move on down the road and expect to pay x2,x3 or x4 the cost of staying here. Personally, i was here to dive, so i wasn't […] spending too much time in the hotel so for me it was perfect, clean rooms, clean(ish) hotel (could desperately do with new carpets) overlooking the beech in what i felt was a safe enough area to walk about in, the casino and food court are 10 minute walk away and i went there most nights and apart from the odd beggar i was never approached by anyone. One thing i would note, make sure your room is as close to the ground floor as possibble, as i had previously read, the lifts are often out of order, and this was also the case on my visit, we had 1 lift working, which only went to the 10th floor, so being on the 15th i had to walk the rest of the way. Breakfast we very nice, don't expect good internet connection in your room but it's fine downstairs. All in all i would return if i was on my own but if i wanted a nice place to stay with my family i would have to consider spending 2 or 3 times as much for a better hotel. Lisez la suite

Hotellet ligger rigtig godt placeret. 2 ud af 4(?) elevatorer var ude af drif og under renovation. Den/de sidste fungerede meget sporadisk. Der er langt til 7 etage af trapperne. Værelset (no.710) var meget slidt og lugtede halvmuggent. Rengøringen var meget mangelfuld og blev kun udført nødtørftigt. Morgenmads buffetten var ganske glimrende, men det […] er mig en gåde at det skal være så vanskeligt at få en kop kaffe! Tjenerne gik noget vrangvilligt rundt med kander og fyldte kun op når man desperat forsøgte at tilkalde deres opmärksomhed. Ingen service her... Lisez la suite

We stayed for four nights in this hotel. It is just across the street from the beach and central. The room service has excellent and cheap menu. The rooms and mainareas are a bit worned out but they are regabiliating now, so it will probably be a Nice hotel with good value for your money!

Hotellet er lett å finne ved den fine strandpromenaden, nær byen, men i et roligere område. Havutsikt fra nesten alle rom og balkong! Ikke trafikkstøy, bare bølgebrus :) Teppet i korridoren kunne med fordel vært skiftet ut, eller vært bedre støvsuget. Fantastisk frokost i nydelig frokostrom ! Ville absolutt overnattet der igjen.
