Nice place but out in the sticks.

Couldn't fault the hotel at all - staff were very helpful, breakfast (food and service) excellent, dinner superb (pricey, but worth it) and the room clean and comfortable. My only minor gripe would be that the ale range is a little limited but there's another pub in the village with a great range.

Breakfast was great, nice little pub , staff friendly, room in need of updating and smelt a little musty, shower wasn't great either but fine for a stop over. Would stay again if rooms were updated.

Hotel was clean and comfy, staff very friendly. Restaurant food was good quality. Perfect Location of hotel for walking in countryside even in the snow. heating ok in morning and evening but does go off during the day. Tried to have bath late afternoon but no hot water.

Unfortunately we were allocated a room directly above the double entrance door to the bar which was extremely noisy when people were entering and leaving. We stayed for one night in a family room which was quite large and had a sofabed, double bed and extra child's bed, all in separate areas. The room was very cold. Three of the four radiators didn't work; we mentioned this and one of the staff came to the room but couldn't get them working either. She said the manager would have a look when he arrived […] at 7pm; but when we returned after dinner, they still weren't working. The child's room was so cold that my son couldn't sleep in it and had to use the sofabed. The bathroom was tiny and badly needed refurbishing. The washbasin was cracked; there was no hot water for a bath in the morning and the top of the tap fell off in my hand. The food in the restaurant was adequate; I asked for pasta for my son, specifically not spaghetti....following which a bowl of spaghetti arrived. In the morning we were asked whether we'd had a good stay and we said it was cold in the room. Her response was "yes, a lot of people have said that". Lisez la suite

I stayed at this B&B for one night while attending Ashridge and I chose it due to its location 10 minutes away and the fact they had internet connection. As soon as I arrived I asked about wifi and I was told it might or might not work from my room, but I could get good signal at the "pub". First problem was the fact that the connection didn't work […] from the room. I had to find a chair at the entrance of the hotel to do some work but ended up going to the pub when I lost the little signal I was getting there as well. The bed was dreadful, i kept slipping to the side of the bed since the mattress was way past it's lifecycle. The shower had no pressure, possibly due to the fact that it was an electric shower. The toilet flushed through one of those contraptions that grinds everything to pass through the small tubes, which kept making all kinds of noises throughout the night. The service was very friendly and dinner was superb. I liked breakfast, it was plentyful and tasty. I won't be coming back, since my visits to the area need me to do some work on my computer and have a good night sleep, and this B&B isn't up to the task. Lisez la suite

A quaint and pleasant country inn reasonably close to Heathrow. The food is, as Michelin used to say "worth a detour". The staff is courteous and eager to please. Aldbury is a nice english village. I would stay here again anytime I had a car.

We enjoyed our stay at the Greyhound Inn and it was perfectly located to explore the local area on foot and on bike. The staff at the pub were very friendly and breakfast was yummy. The room had all the facilities expected, it is a little dated but clean! so i would recommend it. Also had dinner at the pub and really enjoyed it.

Althought the hotel rooms were comfortable, clean & quiet our stay was slightly marred by lovely duvets which were much too hot for the temperature. The room was also too hot. Just a sheet & light blanket would have helped to give a good nights' sleep,

tired hotel, needs a lot of maintenance doing, re-grouting, new windowsetc, breakfast was fab, might stay again if in the area as there was,nt a lot of choice of hotels in that area.

Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room, excellent restaurant. Unlucky to be in the only room where the hot water system failed, but the landlord did his level best to put this right - a room swap was impossible, as the accommodation was fully booked - he battled on for at least 3 hours. All was restored by the morning. The breakfast was cooked […] to order, and was fresh and hot. I would definitely stay there again, perhaps for longer. basic accommodation even if a large room saved by excellent staff and wonderful food. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meal wonderful. if the accommodation matched the food this would rank a great deal higher.

Nice location, village pub with rooms, very busy bar / restaurant when I stayed. Standard of my room was reasonable, not fantastic, quite old fashioned but comfortable enough. Bathroom with bath but no shower. Food in my opinion a bit on the expensive side, - Breakfast very good

Came here for the beautiful location, this is our second time at the greyhound and I remember the resturant attached to the pub was a lot better 2 years ago! Food not at pub prices quite expensive, I ordered smoked haddock which I felt had been cooked in the microwave with what I thought was frozen veg, not what you'd expect for £15! The menu does get […] you excited but didn't live up to it's expectations! Only other issue is that the shower trickles so takes you a while to get wet, but location is gorgeous and that's why we chose the greyhound! Lisez la suite
