We had a normal double room and it was great. We loved the purple color scheme and all the facilities were nice enough. The staff wer friendly. The location was very good, being in a quiet side street off a busy avenue near two subways. I was very satisfied with my stay at Sawadee hotel. The hotel room was very clean and comfy but some might find it too small for more than 3 pieces of lugguages. For anyone traveling with elderly, you might want to think twice because from the hotel to the main road it's about 400-500m walk. However, they do provide free tuk tuk service to the main […] road. One thing they need to improve would be their breakfast. The choices are the same everyday. There were only 5 selection. Overall, I am pleased with my stay. "Will not use this hotel again."
Room quality itself is ok. But when I arrive - they did not know where the room key was. They ordered a new set of keys, but I wanted another room - I did not want to leave my things in a hotel room where "someone unknown" might have access. The hotel did not understand this, also they speak english not well. In addition, the room I got for 4 nights, […] had a just a view to a big wall - two meters outside the window - not very nice. After 2 nights I got another room. But it is the security mindsetting they need to improve. ( And the faces in reception was not smiling so much any more ) Breakfast is very simple, I preferred to eat other places. So - I will not use this hotel again. Small but nice rooms in a quiet place. They offer tuk-tuk to station what is very handy. Otherwise 10min walking. By tube you are just a few stations of main shopping areas. I have stayed here previously and happy to see that the same high standards remain. This is a very comfortable, bijou hotel in a great location on Soi 8, Sukhumvit, adjacent to the Sky train and all the action of Sukhumvit Road - but far enough down the Soi not to be at all noisy i.e. great quality sleep. Service is pelasant and the rooms are well appointed […] (if a little small). Nice additional touches include tea / coffee making failities, complimentary slippers and dressing gowns, in-room safe etc. I have no hesitation in awarding this hotel highest marks and recommmending to all budget (and comfort) conscious travellers. A great bargain for this price. The hotel is located central but in a calm soi of sukhumvit. Rooms are small but very clean and well equipted. WiFi worked good and the rooms backwards have balconies. This is a nice boutique hotel with beautiful decor, friendly staff, clean rooms, and easy access to Bangkok transport network (BTS). we booked it for 2 nts initially. Due to change in plans, we decided to stay put in Bangkok for 5 nights so we extended stay. Room was small for two people. But it was pleasant,comfortable and had all amenities except that house keeping did not replace empty shampoo, soap & shower gel each day.we had to ask for it. We stayed in room 204 and its window […] opened to main street. We could enjoy fresh air in mornings. Staff is friendly & helpful. Its 5 mts walk from sukhumvit rd to hotel but with heavy baggage, 5 mts may look like 15. Hotel has a free shuttle service between hotel to sukhumvit road Both side of Soi 8 on which hotel is, are full of restaurants (italian, Indian, thai & more), many massage centers, coffee/breakfast shops, and many other hotels. I stayed for a couple of days, and returned for another stay two weeks later, and the hotel gladly kept my luggage for me for that duration (and even waved "the fee", but that was supposed to be a secret...) I spent one night at this hotel during October 2011 when the floods were threatening to engulf Bangkok. I arrived a day early as I was worried about being able to get to the airport if the city flooded. The hotel readily accomodated me on the spot although my booking was for the next day. "Convenient with minor problems"
I stayed at Sawasdee Sukhumvit Soi 8 twice actually. The first time i was lucky enough to get rm 603 and it was comfortable, clean and really nice for the price. My only gripe was the shower did not drain properly and the shower head needed fixing. The 2nd time around i was not so lucky. The staff were very helpful as the first room they assigned reeked […] of smoke, the second one the staff did not think was suitable and the 3rd room 301 was nice. The only problem was despite many attempts at fixing it the aircond kept breaking down. It was too close to the elevator so drunken guests were loud. Sadly, the room opposite mine was so loudly having sex i really could not sleep most of the night. However, the management did try to get them to keep it down and helped me get a metered taxi for my very early morning ride to the airport.
