Première impression: usine à touristes. Mais très vite conquis par l' intelligence de l'architecture; de petits immeubles noyés dans un luxuriant jardin tropical, une belle piscine, un personnel gentil et serviable. La nourriture est américaine mais les restaurants japonais et de poisson sont bons. La plage est bondée mais je le savais.....En revanche il y a suffisamment de transats pour tout le monde. Un bon hôtel de vacances. P.S. pensez à prendre de US$ avant de partir le change est scandaleux et les factures en $ convertis en pesos pour les CB à un taux prohibitif!

Notre séjour était parfait, il y avait toujours des petites choses d organisées dans l hôtel : photos, tournoi de Ping pong, de volley, spectacle. Le petit plus du matin : prendre un café, tisane ou thé en terrasse à n importe quelle heure. J avais peur de m ennuyer et tout compte fait j y serai bien restée plus longtemps. Tout est beau : les jardins, le buffet , la deco, les lustres mais ce que j aime le plus sont les tableaux qui décorent tout l hôtel.

I didn't get the all inclusive option, so cant tell about other meals. great hotel for a night before getting into a big and nice all inclusive resort if you want to travel on […] friday night CONS: salty water everywhere, from shower to swimming pool, and sinks. They have recently changed their name, which was ALYSIOS, no one know where WHALA hotel is. There is not a single board on the road to lead you there. We spent 45 minutes trying to find this hotel and when we arrived, the concierge guy said "weird... you are the only person to report that, people simply manage to arrive". "Close to the beach."
The staff was friendly and didn't hesitate to help. 100 m to the beach. Our room was ok, stayed in a suite (ordered a standard room). The smell from the sewer wasn't very nice, but disappeared after some days. The buffet food was really boring and we only ate at the hotel "restaurant" 3 or 4 days. An okay place for a short stay, but I wouldn't go back or recommend the place. Pros: Beach is a short (90 second) walk away Room was quite spacy Beds were comfortable Supermarket, Restaurants, and Cafe nearby (turn left as you walk out of the hotel and walk straight for 2-3 minutes) 3 pools on-site, so never any crowding Cons: Food at the all-inclusive […] buffet was limited and not very good; drinks were watered down Terrible water pressure, i.e. no water at all sometimes Some staff rather unfriendly and unhelpful Do not book any tours through the hotel, they're overpriced and not very good If you're staying here, you're probably doing it to save money, so here's a tip: DO NOT go all-inclusive here, as it's a waste of money for what you get. I tried going all-inclusive the first night of my stay, and didn't do it after that, because the food selection is really limited, not very good, and apparently doesn't change at all, and the drinks are watered down considerably. If all you need is a reasonably-priced hotel near the beach, then this place is okay for that, and you can self-cater at the little mall down the block, where there's a supermarket, a decent bakery, and everything I tried at Danny's Bar & Grill was excellent and much better than anything the hotel had on offer. The staff was friendly and made the experience that much more memorable. The beach is a short walking distance from the hotel. The only thing I did not like was that the water from the faucets seem like its sea water, it's salty! I felt like I was showering in the sea. Wasn't bad for the price. It was close to the beach too. The food was not to my liking, no bacon for breakfast. You had to buy water and use it to brush your teeth as well as drink. Convenient walk to plenty of places to eat. You don't get the all inclusive stream of food and drinks, but the hotel staff was helpful in making suggestions as to where to eat. I was impressed with Josef who works mostly at night who made arrangements to find us Chinese food at close to 1am. When most of the eateries within walking distance were closing […] up at 11pm. My wife did not like the fact that the hotel or as I understand it the area does not have a water softening plant so she kept complaining that the water smelled like sea water. For me the water was clean enough to take a bath and we used bottled water to brush and rinse our mouths. Overall we still enjoy the hotel for it's proximity no more than 15 min. to major malls, places to eat, and to public transportation if you don't have a car which we did not have. "Great for the price"
We just returned from a five day stay at the Alisios Bavaro, and were so pleasantly suprised. For the price, the rooms were nice (minimalist island-ish) and the pools were fantastic. We did not participate in the All inclusive (for an extra fee) and found tons of great food options only a short walk away. The restaurant attached to the hotel has yummy […] food (for a decent price) and the French Bakery down the street (which we ate breakfast at every morning) had the best cafe con leche's and donuts. There was also a great beach bar just down the beach with delicious pina colada's. The hotel was decent for the price that was paid. There were a couple problems encountered: 1. the water was salty. 2. the sheets and towels were changed only upon request. "not impressed"
This is an ok hotel. No customer service at all. There is no eateries in this hotel, and for god sake salt water in the water lines in the rooms. The management does not care for the customers. It does have 3 beautiful swimming pools and a nice beach within walking distance.Avis véridique Expedia
