This place is very conveniently located and comfortable as far as hygiene, service and other guests. The showers are hot and stocked with unlimited high-end products made specially for the house. However, the guttural scream emitted by my neighbor upon seeing her room, the exasperated laughter of others upon realizing their fate, and my own estimate […] of, oh, 6'x4'x2' should tell you all you need to know about this hostel. Don't let the pictures fool you. Unless you pay through the nose, you're staying in a stall. Make sure you are especially assertive with ladies at the front desk; there are always gentlemen discussing the price of tea in china with them and you will wait until their interminable conversations are over unless you speak up and ask for what you want. Basically a nice, clean, hostel, with historic "charm" - sort of. The WWII returning GI theme is interesting. The cabin rooms are cool, though after a few days I was tired of them - the bed/cot is comfortable, but way too short. I am 5'8" and 5" of my legs hung over the bed, so be prepared to take a fetal position for sleeping. They do have other rooms […] with bigger beds. The staff was helpful and the cleaning crew took great care of the bathroom. Sharing a bathroom with the entire floor can be a problem for some, but for the price and for the fact that you are in New York and should not be using your room for more than a few hours of sleep at night, it is well worth it. The hotel is new, and is working through some kinks. They did not know that I prepaid for the hotel through hotel.com, and wanted to charge my card again. I would have liked to have my towels changed out more often. Those who have problems walking, you have to walk nearly 3 flights of stairs to get to the reception desk. That said, the hotel was clean, […] and clean smelling. The cleaning staff was constantly cleaning the bathrooms and hallways. the location was excellent, and the price very reasonable. Since I was in NYC to be visiting museums seeing the sites etc, the very, very small rooms were no problem at all. I've stayed in many hostels in New York City and i usually expect the worst so that i wont be dissapointed when i get there.. But luckly they arent as bad as i pictured them to be. This place on the other hand, was a dump!! infested with filthy bathrooms and showers that looked like they arent cleaned at all.. or should i say EVER!! the cabin is as […] big as a jail cell LITERALLY.. with one tiny little bed and sheets that were full of misterious stains. Im not the type of person that expects lavishness for a low price but this place just took the cake!! the only thing good was the location. Lisez la suite

First of all: This is actually no hotel, much more a hostel. The inside appearance is nice - stylish and modern. The shared bathrooms are very clean, which is amazing when so many people are using them. BUT I couldn't sleep just one minute.... Because the rooms are no real rooms... They are bunks as small as can be, only separated through thin wooden […] walls with an OPEN ceiling - meaning you get all the noise from all of the many other bunks and the doorway... All night long people are slamming dors... No chance to sleep at all! Lisez la suite

Jeg havde booket 12 nætter på hotellet, og fik to dage før ankomst at vide, at der var problemer med min booking, hvilket ville betyde, at jeg ville skulle bo på fire forskellige værelser af samme slags. Dette var naturligvis ikke tilfredsstillende – og vel heller ikke nødvendigt, når nu der netop var tale om værelser af nøjagtig samme slags. Jeg ringede […] derfor til hotellet, for at få ordnet det således, at jeg kunne blive på samme værelse. Første gange jeg ringede, fik jeg fat i Michael, som bad mig om at vente et kort øjeblik, og derefter satte mig på hold i mere end 25 minutter – rigtig dårlig kundeservice og meget dyrt, når man ringer fra Danmark til USA! Da der intet skete, valgte jeg at ringe tilbage, hvorefter Michael lovede at få sin manager til at se på det, da det åbenbart kun var manageren, der kunne ændre i deres reservationssystem (der af uforklarlige årsager havde noteret min booking som fire forskellige bookinger). Dagen efter ringede jeg igen for at sikre mig at de havde fået det ordnet, og Adam oplyste mig, at dette nok skulle ske inden min ankomst. Jeg rejser derfor til NY i den tro, at alt er okay – det var det bare ikke! Få dage inde i mit ophold kommer jeg sent hjem fra byen og beder om min nøgle, hvorefter jeg får at vide, at de har smidt mig ud af mit værelse og givet det til en anden. De har derfor låst sig ind på mit værelse, været igennem alle mine personlige ting for at pakke dem i kufferter og poser, og derefter stillet mine ting i deres kuffertrum – klar til, at jeg nu kunne pakke ud på et værelse af præcis samme slags som mit tidligere værelse. Det viste sig, at mine opkald fra Danmark havde været forgæves, da der absolut intet var sket i forhold til at sikre, at jeg kunne blive på samme værelse, og det var først efter denne oplevelse, at de fik styr på det, således at jeg kunne blive på samme værelse resten af tiden. Den eneste fordel ved at flytte værelse var, at jeg nu boede på 3. sal, hvor pigernes badeværelser ligger, hvorimod jeg Lisez la suite
