Good site near LRT-1 Carriedo station. Nearby large street markets. If you like the area in which practically you won't meet Europeans, this place for you. The best part about this hotel was the location. Some would say it's a bit rough but we loved it, right in the middle of it, not many tourists around here. Awesome location, right in the heart of the city. Internet is a bit week on the third floor but we got moved as soon as we could. Staff are great and the security guard has a lot of info! Great place to stay for a couple night. We're heading back for the last couple nights for our trip.

We stayed here for when we were about to take the board exams. Very cheap, and you get just what you pay for. Don't expect anything special. Location is very convenient though. Plus points for free wifi and cable tv.

I didnt understand the ‘dangerous’ reputation of previous reviews. As a white female travelling alone in Manila for 22 days I never once felt unsafe. I stood out & was immediately noticed as I walked down the street–but it was a feeling of surprised curiosity rather than danger. Room wasn’t anywhere near as dirty as I feared based on reviews. HOWEVER […] staff will only clean your room every 4 days (this also means 4 days of rubbish build up). I also found I had to buy my own toilet paper, and the ‘provided toiletries’ was for the first day only. Although there is a shower included in the room as promised this is only a connected shower head within the bathroom – there is no actual shower recess. Certainly wasn’t the Western idea of shower I had assumed. Wi-fi proved is temperamental – there was only 1 place I could get a connection within my room, and other guests were usually found sitting in the staircase or downstairs with their laptops as couldn’t connect to weak signal in room. If ur someone who is fully comprehending of what a budget hotel price means for the level of provided accommodation you could not go wrong with this place. If I was to travel budget again I would certainly return here (the location alone is an immediate selling point) but if I was to have more of a holiday/ luxury feel I would suggest u accept u will have to pay more for a higher class of accommodation. Very good location-close to MRT but the surrounding area is not very clean. There are convenient stores and fast food restaurants around which is a plus. The room has air-conditioning which is a big plus but otherwise just a room with basic necessities.

the hotel is basically a overnight stay type, cheap and very basic. tiny room with queen beds but with either a boxspring or a mattress and not both. the floor tiles are not glued on so it is uneven, somebody can trip and get killed hitting the bed`s frames sharp corner. I needed to find an affordable option for a three week stay in Manila with my girlfriend. I choose this hotel because of the price and the many positive reviews at the time I booked the room. Since I booked the room, there have been a series of negative reviews of the hotel, many people having stayed only one or two nights. Perhaps things have changed […] in recent months but let me try to set everything straight. The hotel staff were always pleasant and often helped us find cabs when we needed them. Because we stayed so long, they comped us free dinner one night from the hotel restaurant, the Phat Panda. (Decent food, not great). When I checked in, the room was dirty. There was a fair amount of hair and dust under the bed and in the corners. The bathroom had a lot of crud built up on the floor, the sink, etc. There were some flying insects and quite a few ants. I also killed three cockroaches over the course of my stay. Rather than complain, knowing that this was my home for three weeks, I took it upon myself to clean everything. The bathroom was then spotless. I bug bombed the room and I found the ant nest in the corner and took care of that problem as well. The staff came and cleaned the room on most days for a modest tip and things were pretty tidy from there out. One person complained about a foul smell in the entrance of the hotel in one review. That was true when I got there, but they replaced the carpet which I think was the source of the problem and now the smell is gone and it looks a lot better. A lot of people complained about the beds being very hard, and that is true too. My girlfriend actually liked the bed, and I slowly got used to it. It also wouldn't hurt to hang a painting or two in the room. The tv was ok, but I don't watch much tv. The hotel itself is in Chinatown in Manila which is a very busy place during the day. This is not a touristy location so don't expect to see foreigners around. The hotel is only 2 mins away from the train station. 在唐人街，周边环境只能用脏，乱，差来形容。房间有很大的霉味，边边角角都有蜘蛛丝。床单也很不干净，大人小孩都睡得全身发痒。楼梯随处可见大小强。整体酒店看起来象大众旅馆。如果不是已经扣款，一看这情况肯定马上走人。这么差，没有任何性价比可言的酒店就不要在网站上推广了。

처음에 현지분들이 골든시티호텔을 잘 몰라 찾아가는데는 좀 애먹었습니다. 다행히 구글에서 지도 프리트해서 드라이버에게 보여줘서 잘 찾아갔습니다. 제가 갔을때는 크리스마스시즌이여서 엄청 막히고 고생해서 갔네요.. 택시타고 찾아가기는 조금 힘들지만, 이용면에선 아주 만족합니다. 5명이서 갔는데 더블배드2개 들어간 방 2개예약해서 갔습니다. 침대가 넓직하니 잘 잤습니다. 건물은 좀 옛날 건물이긴 하지만 방도 넓직해서 좋았구요 인트라무로스갈때는 기차를 이용했는데 바로 한정거장만 가면 되서 이용하기 좋았고 시내이동하다가 괜찮은 택시기사 만나서 다음날 약속잡고 공항까지 그 택시기사가 픽업나와서 편하게 갔었습니다. 주인아줌마도 인상은 […] 우락부락 하셨지만 막상 뭐를 물어보니 아주 친절하게 대답해주시고.. 가격대비면 이용도는 정말 만족수준입니다.
