"Hôtel très agréable à un prix très correct"
Hôtel un peu bruyant (bruits de pas à l'étage au dessus) lié à son caractère "victorien". Certaines pièces sont un peu sombres. Mais dans l'ensemble c'est un Hôtel très agréable et très bien situé.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"quaint hotel in a quaint neighborhood"
The hotel is old New Orleans. Located just off St. Charles blvd., the hotel is close to some very excellent restaurants including Emeril's Delmonico and a 12 minute walk to the convention center. Great value and an easy distance from the Quarter. Lots of restaurants nearby from which to choose...I had a last-minute meeting that required me to get the wrinkles out of my suit, and the front desk gave me an iron with a steamer that worked very well. The front desk staff are very friendly. The only drawback was that I had asked for a cab at a certain […] time, and the taxi service the staff member chose did not show up until 25 minutes later..I found out later that the taxi company she had chosen is the worst one in New Orleans, and that there was a taxi stand just around the corner from the hotel, where I could have easily walked and hailed a cab, had she told me about it. "First time in New Orleand"
I travel & have seen my share of hotel rooms. Yes, the fixtures were "dated" but you're staying in a historic hotel. I did not like the $1.00 fee to use the phone in the room especially since I was put on hold & never actually got through. The shower sprayed out of the curtain but that's fine, I had a laugh. My daughter loved the loft room & spiral […] staircase. I once worked in the hotel business, do I decided to help the cleaning ladies by pulling sheets/covers/cases off the bedding... I shouldn't have done that. :-( the pillows were badly stained & l wish I hadn't seen that. The staff was very friendly & helpful. There weren't a lot of delivery places. Magazine pizza was the only place we could find but the delivery times were horrendous. We drove the few blocks to get it. There are a lot of great eateries nearby that are within walking distance. I was very pleased but will bring my own pillows next time. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

"great deal for price"
The main reason for choosing the hotel was cost and proximaty to the Convention Center. Overall, for the cost, it was a great deal. The room was in good condition and the bed was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was pretty basic (cereal, pasteries, bagels while they lasted, yogurt, fruit cups and instant […] oatmeal) but met my needs. Internet speed was free but quite slow. If you don't expect 5 star hotel amenities for the cost of a 2 star hotel, Prytania Park Hotel is a great deal. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

Terrific food within walking distance and half a block from the St. Charles street car. Interesting hotel layout in a Caribbean / New Orleans way. "Clean, comfortable, convenient"
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable when we arrived and it was maintained very well. Free parking, security, and all day coffee in the lobby were great amenities. "Off the beaten path, but that was ok."
I find the hotel to be like most things in New Orleans, old and in need of some TLC. I was there for a show at the convention center and all the hotels by the center were $50 / night more. It was a $7 taxi ride, but I walked it 2 out the 3 days and found myself wishing I could walk to work on a daily basis. That 20 minute walk was the highlight of mornings. […] The morning breakfast was basic, but all I needed. There are two great places to eat about a block away on St. Charles (Zea's & Mia's), both of which I highly recommend. If Mia's was in Chattanooga, I would eat there on a weekly basis. If you want to take a streetcar ride, it is just a block away and $1.25 to downtown. My biggest complaint about the place was the small showers and super cheap plastic shower heads, which made me miss my shower at home. I thought the service was very good. I would probably stay there again, but I might still check out a couple other places in that same area (garden district). With the help of a good handyman, the place could really be a very unique place. Overall I give it a 3.95 out of 5. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com

"Not a luxury hotel"
This is a nice minimalist hotel. The rooms are small, but for a one night stay in New Orleans, it will do the trick. The rooms are comfortable. Not sure about the loft concept? I laughed when I read the reviews about the breakfast being small, but it really is minimal. The staff was friendly and helpful. "Great value, "boutique" style"
I've stayed at the Prytania three times so far, all with wonderful results. The staff was so helpful and fast on check-in/out. The breakfast is decent with croissants, pastries, coffee, juice and yogurt. The rooms have nice high ceilings and are furnished nicely. It has a boutique hotel feel because of the courtyard layout. FREE parking and FREE WiFi […] are a huge bonus and a benefit of staying only one mile (25 minute walk - short streetcar ride) from the French Quarter. The neighborhood has improved greatly in the 3 years that i've been staying at the Prytania; St. Charles St. is now offering nicer resteraunts and atmosphere; it feels "up and coming". "nice, modest hotel very New Orleans"
This is a modest and reasonable hotel on the edge of the Garden District in a residential neighborhood, but one block from the St Charles Street street car. It is walking distance to downtown and about a mile from the French Quarter. The room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. "Good, but not great."
The air conditioner was very loud and turned on and off irregularly, despite attempting to change the control from automatic to low or high speed fan. There were also small biting insects in the room. And there was no shampoo or conditioner for the shower; when I asked at the front desk, I was given a small sample of lotion.Avis véridique Expedia
Réponse de la part de Prytania Park Hotel I am sorry that his A/C was too noisy. Had he brought it to our attention, we would have had maint. come by and assess and repair the issue immediately. With this review, we will certainly go through all the rooms of the type he was in to find the room he and take care of this. The small biting bugs, were very possibly New Orleans Gnats, or our local pet, the mosquito. They have been so small luckily due to lack of rain,, almost hard to see and kill. If the guest left the door open for any lenght of time, but with us being a courtyard hotel, it is possible they flew in. The bathroom amenities, The Prytania Park is for the budget minded guests or those traveling with kids, where every dollar counts, and still offers you a great value. We do supply bathroom amentities, and are the standard hotel portion control size that all hotels supply. This includes, Conditioning Shampoo, Mouthwash, and Hand Lotion, but we opted to have them at the Front desk as a cost savings to our guests. As with everything, cost of operating a hotel increases every year. Instead of raising our prices to meet the operation costs, we chose to keep our rates were they have been since the 2003 and utilize the budget line in other areas, such as offering Free Wi-Fi, and Free Parking, and an Expanded Complimentary Continental Breakfast. Besides, most guests bring their own personal products from home, but for those who do not, we still have them, just not in the rooms directly. We have a sign at the Front Desk that states, if you need, please ask.
"LOVELY"
This hotel is so comfortable and accommodating! It's located right on the Garden District, where the homes and architecture are lovely. The office staff were incredibly friendly, charming, and helpful. The location is ridiculously convenient to the St. Charles Streetcar (less than one block), so it was very easy to get downtown and to the French Quarter. […] The continental breakfast served each morning was plentiful and relaxing -- after piling up your tray, you could sit at one of the wrought iron tables or the swinging bench in the courtyard and take in the sunlight, air, and singing birds. What a nice, soothing way to start the day! Secure lockboxes are available at the front desk,so you can feel comfortable about leaving certain valuables behind. And the food available in the immediate vicinity was OFF THE HOOK -- Cheesecake Bistro (puts Cheesecake Factory to shame!), Juan's Flying Burrito, Sucre, Sushi Brothers, and Mia's Balcony were all amazing eats. But the number one thing about this hotel was that guests could access the St. Charles Athletic Club across the street for free! This state of the art gym has friendly staff and top of the line equipment -- being able to do my cardio everyday in an air conditioned environment, AND get strength training in as an unplanned bonus, absolutely made my stay! I can't wait to come back to this hotel with my husband to have a romantic getaway. :) Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
"Prytania Park Hotel in New Orleans - charming"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Prytania. All the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They were able to suggest quite a few local restaurants for us to try, as well. Our maid neglected to make the upstairs bed, once, but other than that everything was great. We chose to stay at the Prytania b/c it was a very inexpensive price and had free continental […] breakfast, as well as free parking. If you are visiting for a conference, you may want a closer walk to the convention center; but we just took the trolly ($3/all-day pass) to Poydras St and walked straight down (about 10 min). We felt it was a much safer route. If you're there for just a Bourban Street visit, the trolly runs you to Canal St. and that hits Bourban too! Very easy, and only about a 7-8 minute cab ride home. "Great Location, Needs Work"
I chose the Prytania based on many positive reviews. Yes, the location is great, right by the St. Charles Streetcar. There are some very good restaurants, and it's easy to walk into the main areas of the Garden District. The walks are lovely, too. The staff is very friendly, and you can tell that they try to take care of the property. However, the hotel […] is in serious need of renovation. I was truly surprised at the state of the hotel, given so many positive reviews. It took me a couple days to see the merits of the hotel because the rooms are dank, drab, and dark. Thank goodness for the little courtyard; I could see light! Also, the hotel is nowhere near handicap accessible. So, if you require this, go to another hotel. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Expedia
Réponse de la part de Prytania Park Hotel I am truly sorry that this guest was so unhappy with our property. We strive to make all our guests comfortable. We can not fix an issue a guest might have if we are not made aware of them. We were not aware that she needed a Handicap accessible room, to which we have 2 rooms that are partially ADA-Hanidcap accessible. We would have been glad to change her room assignment. Our property was designed and laid out to be similar to a charming, quaint European courtyard inn our family stayed in many many years ago. It was built before the ADA rules and regulations became enacted and made apart of hotel construction , so we are Grandfathered into not being fully Handicap accessible. All 62 rooms have been fully renovated, from new carpet, to the draperies, including the furnishings being refurbished into the new tonal green laquer finishes to blend with the new carpet and wall tones. The rooms tend to be more shaded in the center courtyard due to the immense Natural Bamboo growing in the gardens, that reach over the 2nd story roof line. By opening the room decorative drapes, and raising the black out roller shade, you get plenty of natural daylight through the lace curtain. You can even pull these open for full natural light exposure. The rooms are in color schemes that are soothing to the eyes, and claming to the nerves to allow a guest to fully relax so they can fall off to sleep very easily
"Nice place, surly service"
Location is great and rooms were clean, but service came with an attitude. Night clerk did not like talking, and apparently viewed customers as a bit of a nuisance. Also, ask for a room away from the breakfast area, which is quite noisy from 7 onward. Breakfast is minimalist, and for only a very brief time.Avis véridique Hotels.com
Réponse de la part de Prytania Park Hotel The Night person is probably one of the busiest persons on a hotel desk shift. Between his auditing the day’s business, he must check in those arriving late, he must refill the lobby commissary and take inventory, and he must be diligent about watching who comes and goes into our property at night. He will always visit with those guests who can not sleep, however, the person who this is in reference to has a vision impairment. When he is concentrating on doing his audit of the days business, he must focus in the computer very intently and can not continue looking up and down at a guest who wishes to visit, as he is unable to adjust his eyes that rapidly. Most guests would sense this as he sits very close to the computer screen, but there are those who offense to his not looking up to talk, but I can assure you, it is never meant to insult anyone. He ususally asks a guest to come back later when he is finished his paperwork. Never are out guests a nuisance. Breakfast is a Continental fare, and is from 7 to 9 am. It is a light get me going breakfast. There are a handful of restuarants with in 3 blks from the hotel for those who wish a bigger meal, or for those who wish to sleep in late. It is in our courtyard, which most guests really enjoy the change of scenery from a standard hotel breakfast layout. There is some expections of noise when booking a courtyard property, and knowing the pictures of the courtyard are on the web site. Our guests and staff are diligent about keeping the decibles down to a minimum, but there will always be some level of noise, its inevitable.
"Mixed--good location, inexpensive, but problems"
The hotel is right on the streetcar line into downtown which is on the way to the French Quarter. The front desk people were very friendly and efficient. My big problem was that they had work going to on the floor/room above me and they were banging and moving furniture, etc., until 11 pm on one night. The night before someone seemed to be up there […] working with free weights and dropping them every few minutes on the floor. Another irritation was one of the workers who smoked up the courtyard which made me move out of an otherwise nice setting, twice. I wouldn't recommend it but maybe they will improve some of their procedures. It is certainly in a convenient location. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
Réponse de la part de Prytania Park Hotel am sorry for any noise disturbance this caused , unfortunately, we had a plumbing leak in walls of the bath room above this guest and the room was going to be occupied in 48 hrs. We had the workman worked until 7:30ish both evenings, not 11 pm. This is the hour when most of our guests return from either their business day, convention, and are freshening up for their dinner plans. When you run a small hotel and you are full house during the busy season, you must extend repair hours a bit to ensure job completion. We certainly understand the need for quiet time, and this was not in that time frame. Our rooms and our lobby are 100% smoke free. So therefore, smokers must go to the courtyard near the Designated Smokers Post cans, to which we have 3 downstairs, and 2 upstairs. The one he is referring to is right outside the lobby door where this Front Desk person was instructed to go on her break. About 10 feet from this is a courtyard table and chairs, and then another set up yonder about 30 feet further. If a guest does not like the smokers post area near the lobby, then I can only suggest they move further down to enjoy the courtyard away from this designated Smoking area
"Pyrtania Park Hotel in New Orleans"
I chose this hotel due to proximity to the convention center, reviews on hotels.com and price. The impression I got from reading the reviews was that the hotel was nothing short of specatcular. There are some caveats to that. The noise factor was rather high both at night, midday and in the am making rest during evening or early am difficult. Rooms […] open to a central small walkway and all the noise transmits centrally. The rooms were being cleaned every am right above me at 0800 making any sleep-in Impossible. Staff was courteous but not overly helpful. The rooms do not have shampoo or rinse or moisture lotion which is almost always available in hotels of this price range. The air conditioner was also moderatly noisy compared to many rooms I have used in the past in other hotels I liked the presence of a large separate area for microwave and refrigerator and sink outside the bathroom. Proximity to many excellent restaurants on St Charles street is another advantage and security seemed good at this hotel along with a good distance from noise of the French Quarter if that is a concern. I might or might not stay at this same hotel again depending on rates a bit closer to the convention center. Lisez la suiteAvis véridique Hotels.com
