"Hotel Prytania a New Orleans : bien mais petit dej un peu juste"
Hotel bien situe, calme et avec parking auto inclus. Le petit dej est limité et il y a peu de places pour s asseoir en petit dejeunant, il faut donc arriver avant 9h et scruter les places encore libres. "It was awesome Except..."
I would do this hotel again ...the only issues we had was that few of the staff e.g. the female desk clerk on check in Never smiled...or was the least bit welcoming...and one morning the woman setting out the 7am continental breakfast rudely wouldnt allow us to get a cup of at 6:50a...we didn't to be scolded. "All-Around Great Uptown Value"
Staff was very welcoming when we arrived, and you can't beat the on-site, free parking. Our room was lovely...very clean and comfortable, and although there was an extra bed in the loft upstairs, it was just the two of us, so the extra space was great to have, but unused. We enjoyed the atmosphere, very relaxed and comfortable, and the unusual layout, with the courtyard throughout the first floor. Charming Hotel, clean, well maintained Free parking a huge plus in a big city. Breakfast Ok, for continental it contained protein & dairy, as well as carbs. Super helpful staff. My husband lost a screw out of his glasses, one employee dug up a matching screw, another called her son to bring the needed tiny screw driver. A LONG way from the French Quarter, […] but only a block from the trolley that runs 24/7, and is inexpensive, especially for seniors. Several good eating places nearby. Prytania Park gave us a coupon for a free bread pudding at one. It was heavenly. Would stay there again. Neighborhood seems a bit run down ,but recovery from Katrina has been a long hard struggle. The walls are paper-thin. We were there during a storm and it felt like the thunder was right outside our room. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable. The doors are heavy and loud and slam easily with no sound buffer, making it very loud when people get back to their rooms at all hours of the night. Great historic old hotel. One block away is public transportation on St Charles Ave. Bus or tolley service will drop you off at bourbon st and canal, 10 minutes away. Either do the bourbon st thing, or take a tolley transfer on canal, down to Harrahs, riverwalk, or jax brewery. This was the first time I have stayed on the first floor, and I will say that we had some road noise that was a bit bothersome. I have, however, stayed on the second floor at least half a dozen times and it is EXCELLENT. This hotel is in the perfect location in the Garden District. I had an excellent stay at Prytania Park Hotel. The hotel itself could use a little TLC (who couldn't?), but it was clean, felt safe, had a fridge and microwave in the room, open areas to sit and read, off street parking, and is in a great location. This is a charming not too big hotel in a great location on the edge of the Garden District, within walking distance of the St Charles streetcar and restaurants/bars and shops on that street and Magazine Street; despite its proximity to nightlife it was very quiet. It wasn't 4-star, but it was clean, we felt safe, and there was adequate parking. Within walking distance of several restaurants. Breakfast was minimal (not my idea of a B&B).
