This was our fourth stay at the Kensington. We have enjoyed each stay, from the ideal location to the sherry at 4pm each night plus the fresh coffee each morning.There is no air conditioning but rooms have ceiling fans and the windows in the rooms open. "Amazing staff, great hotel"
I can't speak highly enough about the staff. They made the hotel. The rooms were plenty roomy enough and very clean. Staff made up the room nicely daily. Their business center is awesome, so be sure to visit it. Location was perfect for a lot of walk to locations and public transportation near by. "Easy access to it all"
We have stayed here before a few years back and it hasn't changed. The staff are nice and helpful. Easy access from the Bart. Just a couple blocks from the Powell stop. Our daughter works in the Castro and lives in the mission, so a short walk to trolley to get everywhere and the wharf. Just a really good location. "Well Located"
Only a few steps away from Union Square so great location. We had no problems at all with the hotel, the room was a good size, the staff very helpful, WiFi worked well. The cheap cafe two doors down does a really good breakfast. Car parking is a bit pricy, but very convenient. My advice is not to drive in SF unless yo really have too.Avis véridique Hotels.com

"Boutique Hotel with excellent location & service"
We loved our stay at the Kensington Park. It's a smaller hotel with an elegant lobby in Victorian decor. Located only 50 yards (46m) from Union Square, the hotel is well placed to begin any city tour. Many bus tours have a stop at the Square. Restaurants abound in the immediate vicinity. Except for the early evening sound of a jazz trumpet player in […] the Square, the rooms were quiet. Our rooms were clean and well appointed, if a bit snug. Hotel staff was friendly and attentive. Gloria at the front desk and Bob, the concierge, were superb. They were always ready to lend assistance and offer suggestions with reservations, dining & sightseeing options. "Friendly staff &classical atmosphere (small rooms)"
We had a comfortable time thanks to the friendly staff. We also enjoyed the impressive decorations of rooms, elevators, and lobby. The location is very convenient, of course. You'll enjoy live music at the lobby on Wedensday. Note that, however, there is one caveat to the size of room. We thought one Deluxe Two Doubles was fine for three adults, but […] the beds were too small for two adults and they cannot provide an extra bed due to the regulation of fire department. "An older property but clean and nice"
Very close to Union Square and across from the luxurious Westin St Francis Hotel. Great shopping area and handy to all kinds of transportation. The restaurant in the hotel, the Farfallon, is an upscale eatery with a very unique decor. Plus there is a theater in the building on the 2nd floor for live theater productions. We found the hotel to be in a great position right accross from Union Square, easy to pick up hop on hop off bus. The hotel has querky art deco feel, really nice decor. Joshua at front desk very helpful and remembered us by name which was a nice touch. We stayed at the Kensington Park Hotel in July, 2011. We found the staff eager to help, the room clean and comfortable, and the lobby charming and welcoming. The afternoon tea and sherry in the lobby was a lovely way to greet exhausted travelers. Staying on the sixth floor on the street side, we had no problem with street noise. The only minus was having […] a 30 minute wait for our car after notifying the valet. To their credit, they warned us this would be the wait to expect when we checked in. I took two 15 year old girls with me on this trip, and location and convience was everything. This hotel had it, although a small room for three it worked fine. There are affordable restrant's around the hotel just look, and a wonderful coffee house three doors down: best latte i have ever had and great breakfast. I can not say enough about this location […] not only is it in Union Square and convient to everything it is on the quiet side of the square. We will be staying again for sure. Our stay at the Kensington Park Hotel was great! It was conveniently located for all of the activities we wanted to do. The staff was helpful, and extremely friendly. This was a last minute trip to see our daughter for just a couple days and the regular hotel we stay at was all booked up. I found the Kensington on Hotels.com and it had good reviews so we decided to try it out since we were planning to eat all meals with our daughter it didn't matter that the room came with no breakfast. They serve coffee and have […] Tea in the lobby with sherry in the late afternoon if you're into that. I'd prefer wine myself but it was available. The rooms are regular size but the bed was very comfortable which is the most important to us. It's very close to everything in the square and appx. 3 blocks from the bart which was perfect for us to get to the airport. I would stay here again if our travel arrangements were the same. Our family stayed at this hotel for a night at the tail end of our vacation. It is not a family oriented hotel. Far from the sights my kids were interested in, no place to leave the car (the valet told us when he brought the car up, it could only sit on the street less than 10 minutes), and older all the way through. "Great hotel"
Great hotel overall. Rooms weren't huge but they weren't too small either and worked fine for us considering we had 2 kids. Hotel is old but cute and maintained and clean. The people were nice, no real complaints at all about anything. The location was awesome. We were seconds from Union Square and close to anything you could want - shopping, restaurants, […] convenience store, street cars, anything and that was why we stayed there - for the price it really is a good choice hotel. We stayed there in May and slept with the window open which was comfortable but we didn't see any AC so you may want to check into that before booking for the summer. Vincent, Gloria, Lily, Thai and other staff members bent over backwards to greet us every time we were in the lobby!! Beds were comfortable, linen immaculate, nice furnishings/carpet, quiet floor, and color scheme of room, hallway and lobby were fabulous. We stayed in SF during the heatwave and understandably, the ice machines had run out of ice quickly. […] Next bit of improvements I would add would be to update the bathroom and add air conditioning. This was our second time taking our daughters to S.F., and we wanted them to try and see it as it once was. The hotel did a fabulous job of being modern, but at the same time staying with the era it was built in. The elevators were beautiful. The girls loved running up the 12 flights of stairs. It's hard to choose the best feature of this hotel, as the room was so comfortable and clean. But really the best feature is probably its location, as it was easy for us to go anywhere in San Francisco, via cable cars, busses, even BART. We stayed in a single room with two double beds (for three adults) and it was comfortable, if a little snug -- but […] that's to be expected in any hotel in downtown SF, I imagine. In keeping with the standard of hotels in that area, breakfast is not served (except by room service) but you can make coffee and tea in the room, and just a few doors down, in the direction of Union Square, is a Borders bookstore with a café and breakfast pastries! Having stayed in a lot of budget friendly hotels I don't usually expect too much. The Kensington was such a pleasant surprise. The beds were SOOOO comfortable, something I never say about a hotel. Bom hotel, em um bonito prédio clássico e com localização excelente. Detalhe: chá e cherry no lobby às cinco horas (às vezes com música ao vivo). Entretanto, ficamos em um quarto pequeno para um double bed, e que tinha pouca pressão de água quente do chuveiro.
